Stopped by for a small couple of speedos and they had a good selection between polyester and lycra suits. Ladies at the desk immediately greeted me and were helpful and friendly. Great selection for the competitive swimmer from suits to gear. Only reason I didn’t give a five was prices were a bit high… then again what competition suits aren’t? They were about the same as you’d find elsewhere really.

I really hate procrastinating and having to buy stuff here instead of online at . I’m only giving them two stars because they have things I need from time to time and the only other place to go in Indy is Kast-A-Way. When you walk in, they just look at you like you’re bothering them. Not even a trying to be cheerful hello. Today, I asked if the Finis snorkel I was going to buy worked with the Finis dry top caps(keeps water out of snorkel, gives you a harder workout by restricting airflow slightly). The girl didn’t know what it was. I suggested a Google search. She sat back down, right in front of a computer, but just sat there. Would’ve been nice if she Googled it to help me, and to learn what a snorkel cap is. Instead I had to find my phone and do it. She was in a cleavage top and cropped denim jacket, like she was going to a club after not working in a sporting goods store. My snorkel would’ve been $ 14 cheaper, too, if I hadn’t waited too long to order it online. I hope I can avoid going back. That’ll teach me to think ahead!

Circle City Swim & Sportswear is a hidden gem in a land of chain stores. The folks at Circle City have always done a great job sizing my kids for practice suits and competition wear. They have a working knowledge of how the different brands and styles of suits are cut, how well they wear, and how they fit on different body types. Other shops may have«more stuff» but are of little help when it comes to a working knowledge of the needs of competitive swimmers. Circle City has always been very helpful and honest about their products and services.

I am a recent Indy transplant from Minneapolis. One of the joys of moving to a much warmer climate is being to swim outdoors in the summer months. Now, when i say swim, i don’t mean wade and splash in the pool. I am a 2 time ironman athlete whi has swan for years. Excited to swim outdoors and in need of a new 2-piece Speedo bathing suit. I found this shop online and decided to give it a try. I was not greeted upon entering the shop and after a quick look around, and not seeing any 2-piece suits, approached the counter to inquire. I asked if they carried the suits to which woman behind the counter said they had a small rack up front, but that was all because they are«really not that kind of shop.» Um, ok, I was under the impression this was a swim shop… So, I looked at the few 2-piece suits they had but wasn’t able to find one in my size. I then went back up to the counter to inquire if there were other shops around that might carry this type of suit, the women suggested another shop that mainly carried 2-piece suits, but wasn’t sure what they carried because«I don’t shop there.» Wow, thanks for being 1) not helpful in the least 2) rude 3) condescending. Additionally, an older gentlemen came into the shop while I was there looking for new trunks to which he was also greeted with a super-helpful«we’re really not that kind of shop.» Really? That’s the best you can do? Poor, poor customer service. Needless to say, I will not patronize this shop again and will not recommend it to other swimmers looking for gear.
