For a fast food joint, this is pretty darn good. My burger was juicy & tasty. The girl taking my order was very friendly, which was nice. My favorite thing, though, was the frozen custard. I got a vanilla Concrete with cheesecake pieces and strawberries. Oh, yeah, baby. This was delicious!!! I also saw they sell hand-packed pints to go. Yum.

That was a good PR move for Culver’s to decide to call their hamburgers«butterburgers.» Something about that name makes it taste even more delicious. Anything with the word«butter» in it beats anything without the word butter in it. Needless to say, Culver’s butterburgers are amazing! Their custard is delicious and creamy, as are their milkshakes. This location is conveniently right off the 465 highway, so you can get your butterburgers quick and easy.

I love a good burger, and even more so, I love it when made at Culvers. There is something about the butter bun the burger is served on and the ease of getting the burger exactly how you want it. Reasonably priced, the portion sizes are perfect, and the have enough diversity on their menu to please any lunch group whether someone needs a salad, chicken, fish, or just ice cream! This is a definite favorite for lunch and I can’t wait to go back.

First I have to talk about the staff: the girl was very nice and cute. After placing my order, I presented the coupon on Unilocal for a free scoop of custard. She said she didn’t know how to use it and got a manager. He also said he didn’t know how to use it but, still honored the coupon. I thought that was supper cool. Now the food: I got the bacon deluxe butter burger with onion rings and a pumpkin shake. All were great. My wife got cheese curds and a chili. The cheese curds were good but, I didn’t like the chili. I feel chili should be spicy and have more of a vinegar flavor rather then sweet. This chili was very sweet.

Generally, I have always been happy(actually thrilled) with my Culver’s visits. Today was not good. First off, I had arranged to meet four friends. Since the lunchtime rush was winding down, I went ahead, ordered a drink and secured a table. All was well until I went back up to order. The others had arrived and were ordering. I tilted the chair to indicate that the table was saved. Imagine my horror when I turned around to find an employee, setting the chair back down, wiping down the table and starting to throw away my drink. She then handed it to me after she had contaminated it with her table wiping hand. So, I marched back up and told the cashier who was gracious. She gave me a new cup. Thank goodness, it was no charge. Upon returning to the table, I explained that a tilted chair probably indicates someone is occupying the table. She voiced a weak and insincere, «Sorry.» To top it off, the salad I ordered was mediocre to say the least. Definitely will stick to the burgers next time.

So here is the deal. The custard here is a solid 4 stars, but everything else about this place screams McDonald’s. On my visit to this location today, when I asked if the Wisconsin Cheese Curds were vegetarian, the cashier made a puzzled look on her face which made it clear that she didn’t know what«vegetarian» meant. Are you kidding me?! Then the second cashier also said they weren’t vegetarian, at which point I asked: «Is there meat in them?» in which they both responded no. Well that conversation was way harder than it needed to be. On top of it, the curds were not good at all(even dipped in ranch) and I ended up throwing half of them away. On the bright side, I was able to use the Unilocal offer for a scoop of free custard with purchase, which you MUST take advantage of. I suggest buying a pint of custard to go as your purchase(to take home) and then getting a cup of custard as a treat to dine-in or for the road. Come for the delicious custard – not for the fast food environment.

Culver’s is what it is. Kind of the red-headed step/lovechild of a fast food burger joint and an ice cream shoppe. If you’re really craving a quick burger, this is not the first place that would come to mind. If you’re looking for ice cream(excuse me… custard), this is not the first place that would come to mind. However, if you’re looking for a place that offers fast food burgers and custard, then this is one of the few places that can do it. Average burgers and average custard. This isn’t a criticism of this particular location, but of all Culver’s in general…$ 1.20 extra for nuts on a sundae, but the candy toppings are free? Due to the prime location right off 465 on 67/Kentucky Avenue, it’s usually pretty busy.

It’s right down the road from me and is very quick and easy. Restaurant always seems clean and well kept. In addition, the people have always been very friendly. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet, but haven’t had one that stood out from other Culver’s restaurants that I have been to. Make sure you try the frozen custard as well as a butter burger. Both for me are staples of this awesome place!

My inner fattie approves. Fried chicken and vanilla malted… yummm. Since my flight got cancelled and I’m stuck here for an extra night I took a hotel room close to the airport. Culvers is right across the parking lot and I decided to check it out for dinner. The place itself reminds me of a bizarro version of Long John Silvers for fried chicken and burgers. It’s all blue and white with the same color scheme and style of a fast food place like that, but it’s more of a restaurant too as the counter people also bring your food over to your table after placing the order. Lots of seating and pretty clean. The menu is actually pretty big and features items like ButterBurgers, Fried Chicken, Sandwiches, Cheese Curds, Fresh Frozen Custard, Malteds, Salads, and more. Everything is fairly priced and actually kind of cheap. Two piece fried chicken dinner with a roll and two sides for $ 5.79 and a regular size vanilla malted for $ 2.39. The large chicken breast had a nice crispy outside to it and the meat was moist. The wing was a bit dry. The mashed potatoes and gravy were forgettable, but the dinner roll was soft and fluffy to dip into the the gravy. The green beans also had sliced onions in it and were ok. Overall, not a bad comfort food type quickie meal on a whim if you don’t mind the extra calories. Now, the vanilla malted was something else! It was served with a straw and a long spoon in it as it’s so thick the straw would collapse when I tried sucking the malted through it. I took a spoonful into my mouth and it tasted like a vanilla marshmallow fluff malted! So yum! Best part of the meal. Culvers is a family owned and operated business that is a nice change over the other fast food restaurants such as Denny’s and KFC just down the road. Worth a visit if staying at the Country Inn & Suites next door.

Good place to stop in for a sundae, their hot fudge is good and their pecans are crisp and tasty. Culvers dairy dessert isn’t ice cream by the way, it’s actually custard, so it’s very smooth. Clean dining room and good service, hard to complain!

Loooove their Butterburgers! :) The buttery buns are amazing and the burger itself is a nice thin patty with crispy edges… mmmm! Crinkle cut fries are great, as are the cheese curds! And you can’t go wrong with any of the ice cream treats! :) I only wish there were more locations around Indy!
