Embassy Suites Hotel

Mediocre hotel. The inside first impression was very nice but the rooms are outdated and small for suites. The bathrooms are so small that when you shut the door there isn’t much room to move. From 5:30 — 7:30 they had a nice managers reception with free beer, wine, or well drinks and snacks such as chips and dip, vegetables and dip, salsa and popcorn. But If you’re a smoker you are out of luck because you have no choice but to walk the long path out of the hotel down the car ramps/​steps to the street to smoke. Over all it was okay. But I wouldn’t book this hotel again.

We stayed here on a Friday night for a party that was in town. I have to say the location is excellent, very convenient to many restaurants and activities downtown (many within walking distance). The hotel is actually connected to Centre City Mall, The Artsgarden, a parking garage and multiple restaurants.
The hotel staff were very friendly and our room was ready when we arrived to check in. The room was clean — the bathroom could have been a little cleaner for my taste, but it was okay. The vents were very dirty in our room, and someone had put a towel over one of the vents in the bedroom for some reason and the housekeeping staff did not remove it before we arrived. So it really just needed a once over by the housekeeping staff.
Again, its convenient and an excellent location to many things downtown. We actually walked to several restaurants and a couple of bars after our party.

If negative stars were an option the embassy suites would get that rating from me. Mold mold mold! Leaky windows and black mold growing everywhere. I switched rooms and wasn’t even given a refund or credit. It wasn’t just my room either, we had 10 people check in and every room on the east side had mold issues.

The main part of the hotel is beautiful. The rooms are really old. The bathrooms are horrible. There’s a reason they don’t show you pictures of the bathrooms. I felt like I was staying in an old house. The fuse blew while using the hair dryer. We had to wait for someone to come and fix it. Be ready to be nickeled and dimed to death.

THINGS WERE GREAT, until they weren’t. Pretty hot and bothered by it still, as this is a fresh situation, but they are LIARS here. Said we’d get more pillows, no. Said there would be complimentary breakfast, nada. Validate parking? Nope. Overall, terrible experience.

The location is great, but that’s it. The check in line was extremely long, and no rooms were available when I arrived. Moreover, they had no process in place to contact guests when the rooms were ready, you just had to check back frequently. The room was spacious; however, there was a hole in the wall behind the suite door. We left for our event, and then ate at the restaurant downstairs before returning to the room.
The waitress was a bit too homespun to be working at an Embassy Suites lobby restaurant. As she approached our table after we waited several minutes (so much so that my husband asked if we needed to go to the bar to order), I was looking at pictures I’d just taken at the event we’d just left on my phone. The waitress told me to get off my phone and talk to my husband. We uncomfortably laughed it off and ordered. The food took more than 25 minutes to arrive at our table. I ordered an extra meal to go for my daughter to take back to the room as it was late and she had to leave early in the morning. She was not there when we ordered but arrived to pick up her food and ended up waiting with us for some time. When the food arrived, the waitress brought hers as though it was not to-​go because she was there. So then we had to wait for the to-​go plate so she could leave! My family took turns going to the bar to get refills on our soft drinks.
My teen daughter was to sleep on the sofa bed. When we opened it up, you could feel the springs with your hand without even pressing down. Also, there was no blanket or extra pillows in either of the closets. We called the front desk to have them bring them up, and just told her to join us in the bed until they came up. This was a good thing, because they never came.

Update: I’ve been contacted by the hotel and they more than made up for the rate disparity issue that I had when making online reservations. I guess I should not have taken no for an answer from the sales department while there. He also said they are on an approved renovation plan, so hopefully future stays will eventually be better for visitors to downtown Indianapolis.

I arrived a little after 5:00 PM. Apparently, there was some sort of special event going on as there were a lot of police officers downtown, and I could not use my Hilton Honors points to pay for the room. The attached parking garage was marked as being full except for hotel guests. I entered the garage and found it was under construction with lots of narrow passageways. I went up ten floors and back down ten floors. There were no available spaces, anywhere, even for hotel guests. I exited the parking garage and the attendant told me there was no available valet service, I would have to pay $ 4 for the privilege of not parking in the garage, and could not leave until I paid the $ 4. The $ 4 fee is apparently for parking, which I was not successful in doing. I believe that charging money to someone for entering a parking garage when there are no spaces available borders on the criminal.
I then called the hotel and asked where I should park. I was directed to the garage for the Circle Center Mall, about a block away. After finding my bearings and avoiding the homeless people downtown, I walked through the rain to the hotel and climbed the stairs to the entrance with my luggage (the entrance is hidden and not very pedestrian friendly).
Upon checking in, the desk clerk asked whether I was parking a vehicle with the hotel. At this point, I told her I had paid $ 4 to not park my vehicle with the hotel because their garage is full, and I was disappointed that they let anyone (not just hotel guests) park in their garage. Her story completely changed and she told me the hotel does not own the parking garage and has no control over it. Very hypocritical to treat the parking deck as belonging to the hotel until there is a problem.
The manager’s reception was mediocre – yes, you get free booze, but they ran out of the mix for the featured cocktail. They also ran out of potato chips! The snacks provided were carrots, celery, broccoli, ranch dressing, crackers, salsa, potato chips, and popcorn. At other Embassy Suites locations, I have had things like hot queso and chips.
The rooms are very noisy thanks to the open atrium design. I think they have added ceiling fans in the bedrooms to attempt to drown out the noise. This is like putting lipstick on a pig. If you are in the suite part of the room and close the door, you will probably be fine. If you are sleeping on the fold-​out couch in the living room area, bring your earplugs, as the noise is deafening!
The desk and rolling chair in my room were extremely worn, and the toilet flush handle was loose. Someone’s hair was on the temperature control for the shower, and the shower turned cold for no reason while I was using it. When I turned it up, it became warm for a few minutes, then became scalding hot. This hotel is probably due for a makeover, but given my experience, I don’t think I’d stay there even if it were made over.
One plus, the wifi does not appear to be capped to 1 – 2 megabits per user, as I have experienced in other hotels.
When I checked out, nobody asked how my stay was, otherwise I would have brought up the parking issue again.

Stayed here recently during a conference. Staff were great. Rooms were spacious but dated. Scraped my leg on the 2×4 sticking out from underneath the bed. Looked like it was used to brace the frame.
Convenient to downtown venues and restaurants like other downtown hotels. The entrance is a bit unconventional. There is no entrance facing the street, and yo to go up an escalator to get to the front desk or take the elevator by the restaurants on the corner.
Managers happy hour in the afternoon and breakfast were great.

On a trip to Indianapolis, to attend a firefighter conference we chose the Embassy Suites, Downtown and we were not disappointed. The hotel was quiet, clean, and met all of our needs. We will be sure to select this hotel again if we return. Fiction, Faith & Foodies Blog

A step below other Embassy Suites I’ve stayed in. This hotel is in poor condition. Noisy and the entrance is a dirty alley. be warned that there is no way in without going through a smoky entrance. The best thing is the buffet breakfast.

I stayed here 5 nights during a work conference. My experience was excellent. The hotel treated me to free wifi my entire stay, although the wifi did not work in my bedroom, only in the living room. My suite was very nice. There were 2 tvs, a fridge, and a microwave. The bedroom had a sink in it, as did the bathroom and kitchen. The bed was comfortable. The soap, hair products, and lotion smelled great. Every morning there was free hot breakfast. It included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, french toast, fruit, yogurt, bagels and cream cheese, toast, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, and an omelette station! There was also fruit juice, soda, coffee, tea, and milk. Additionally, every now and then there were special items, like breakfast burritos. The free breakfast helped me cut down on costs considerably and was extremely convenient. Just as exciting was the nightly manager’s reception from 530 – 730. There is free booze the entire 2 hours! The free booze included red wine, white wine, and white zinfandel. Well drinks, including mixed drinks. And 3 types of beers on tap. There were also snacks, but nothing substantial. More like pretzels, popcorn, tortilla chips with salsa and cheese sauce, and vegetables with dipping sauce. The hotel has a business center with computers you can print from for free. There is also a pool and a decent sized fitness center with nice equipment. The design of the hotel does amplify sound, and from the 14^th floor I could hear the loud drunk people in the lobby late at night. However, when I was in the bedroom with my door closed I could not hear them. The meeting facilities were ample and nice. Hotel staff was helpful and very friendly. I would stay here again should I return to Indy.

I was actually pleased with the location, price, and service. Yes, the hotel needs an update, but as a hilton gold member they upgraded me to a suite on the 20^th floor. Wow, loft, patio, great view. The staff were very nice and pilot. I would stay here again. Shout out to Cameron at the front desk for his guest service and knowledge.

I went to this embassy Suites Hotel located in downtown Indianapolis where the parking garage sign said full. But the parking attendant told me to go through because there were plenty of spaces available. It took me about seven minutes to go through the parking garage to determine that the only spots available we’re near construction sites. I decided I didn’t want to park my car where they were repairing the garage so I left immediately.
Within seven minutes is what it took me to get through the parking garage I was charged four dollars because I couldn’t find a parking spot. The parking attendant told me that the sign says full and then they only let you through at no charge for five minutes.
She then called a supervisor because I said I wasn’t going to pay. The bottom line is they charged me four dollars for seven minutes to determine there was no parking when the parking attendant told me there was.
If this isn’t unethical I don’t know what it is.

I always like Embassy Suites. This one is conveniently located close to the mall and also the convention center. After visiting the Westin and Marriott as well as the JW Marriott, I probably would need to rethink which hotel I would stay in next time. I was upgraded the first day to one of their top floor suites. Very nice 2 story suite with separate walk in shower bathrooms and a kitchen area. The bad part is they don’t get hot water on the top floor so I ended up taking a cold shower. Moved to a lower floor and was much better. There is no lobby bar per se. The sports bar is attached, but not quite what I was looking for. Staff was friendly. The fitness center was quite small forcing me to do most of my exercising outside around the area.

Location of this hotel is fantastic, but the property itself seems old and in need of renovation. Lighting in the main living area of the rooms is extremely dim and adds to the feeling that the place is «old». New furnishings and modern lighting would do a lot to help spruce it up.

I give them a four but most of that is based on a free upgrade to a penthouse suite. The regular suites are a little dated but they do have a lot of perks that are included with every stay at embassy suites. Free cooked to order omelette station which they will do with egg whites if you ask. The normal juices fruits bacon sausage etc… They also have a managers reception aka complimentary drinks and simple snacks. As a whole the staff is excellent they moved my packed up belongings while I was at work and upgraded me to the penthouse free of charge. With my permission of course. Sign up for hilton honors and even if you don’t stay with hilton brand hotels often you still get little perks like bottled waters at check in and points per stay. Make sure you set up your preferences online because usually there are registrations double and triple point promotions.
They will not back date the promotions so make sure you check and register before check in. Once you check in it’s too late. Just a weird hilton thing that they don’t bend on.

This embassy suite was the least favorite of all the many Embassy Suites I have visited. The entry from the garage is awkward. No elevator to the main lobby, it was challenging to venture up the small escalator with my bags.
The managers reception is usually a big perk and I was embarrassed as I raved about it to my fellow guests. No refreshments were out just dip, no chips or veggies.
The breakfast in the morning was lacking in quality. The Cincinnati Suites are wonderful.
This location is in much need of a renovation. The other Indianapolis hotels in the downtown area might be a better choice.

A great place to stay!
clean, fun, beautiful. Large rooms with suites: living room and bedroom. The rooms have two sinks one in the bathroom and one outside for a vanity. The living room has lots of seating and a microwave, sink, and fridge.
5:30−7:30 free cocktails, drinks, and snacks!
Hot continental breakfast in the morning!
And there’s a pool!
Fairly inexpensive for a downtown stay!

So not impressed.
A friend and I stayed here the night before the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. She sprung for a suite, which was quite large, but obviously needed work. The carpet was peeling up in the main room thanks to water damage, and there was green mildew or mold growing in the bathroom. It was also freezing in our room, despite turning up the thermostat.
The vents also might as well have been intercoms to the room above us. We heard the rowdy bunch word for word, and eventually smelled their cigarettes, too. I called down to the front desk and they took care of it, until the behavior picked back up at 3 a.m. Perfect for a pre-​marathon slumber party.
It does get more than one star simply because the breakfast in the morning hit the spot for a solid meal before running for several hours. Also, the manager took pity on us and let us use the gym facilities to get ready before we left town after the marathon.
Overall, this hotel needs some work, big time.
