The Indiana War Memorial, built in 1929, houses the magnificent Shrine Room and a 30,000 square foot Military Museum which chronicles all US Military conflicts from the Revolutionary War to present. It also includes the only museum to the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) tragedy. There is no charge or fee to enter the IWM or the Museum.
History
Established in 1929.
The Indiana War Memorial was built to honor the Veterans of World War I, believed to be the «war to end all wars», and to remind the citizens of the Allied Force countries of their freedoms which were fought for with heavy losses on all sides.
