If you’re not happy at Just Judy’s it’s probably your own fault. The prices are low, the service is great, the food is GREAT! We go there (for years) with a group, several times a month and I have yet to hear anything negative from our people, ever! If you read something bad about this place, they are probably lying.

I had visited this place when they were located off of 54^th St and thought it was pretty average. I returned to their new location and found not much has changed. The food was sub standard diner food that was simply reheated and served to us. The hash browns were more like mashed potatoes than hash browns– very soggy.
The service was good and our food arrived in under 5 minutes from the time we placed our order. There are a lot of other breakfast spots close by that I would choose before returning here. The prices are really low which is good but you get what you pay for.

This place is the real deal if you’re looking for a quick and filling breakfast. We ordered eggs, bacon and biscuits and gravy and received our food in minutes. Everything was delicious. Not piping hot but we were hungry enough that it hit the spot.
Service is great and also has ladies who know what they’re doing among being really sweet
Word of advice: not the place for a group of people. It is really small and cramped. Come with 2 – 3 at most. Also, wait outside for your table. No waiting room by the door. Eat and get out! :)

I loved this place. The peanut butter pancakes were so good. My husband loves his tenderloin. The staff was just great. We were lucky we showed up at the right time to get a big table. And everyone was so kid friendly. If it was closer to my house we would roll out of bed and come once a week. This is the place to bring family with no frills but good food.

I am a big boy who loves his food!!! When I push my plate back because I am full and there are still a few potatoes on my plate you know the portions are generous. My eggs were just the way I like them, the biscuit and gravy really good and it was inexpensive.
The staff were super friendly and made everyone feel welcome. I will be back!

Just Judy’s is an iconic must visit periodically for those who’ve experienced it in either of its iterations. It’s a pretty bare bones dining room and the many choices for meals are all priced to be easy on the wallet. Today, I had eggs fried perfectly, a thick slice of ham (very tasty), crispy (my request) hash browns and a half order of biscuits & gravy for $ 6. Servers are pleasant and efficient. It’s just an all round comfortable place.

Just Judy’s is not your average breakfast joint. It is it a quaint little hole in the wall that is alway full of regulars, and rightfully so. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and as with most breakfast places, the food comes out quick. My then fiancé (now wife) and I stumbled upon this place on our way out of Indy a while back and wanted to make sure our first experience was not a fluke. It wasn’t.
The pancakes were great and the sausage gravy and biscuits were rich and filling. I have a problem of always ordering too much breakfast food for myself, but I’m always happy to share.
Next time in Indy, I will not be stumbling upon this place, I’ll be going out of my way to make sure I stop and partake!

Oh man. The price is definitely right, Just Judy’s. If you’re looking for a place with a brunch that’s hearty but not oversized on the cheap, this is your spot.
I was meeting a friend from Indiana who had moved to the east coast and was back in town for a few days, and this place was just halfway between us. He commented on how distinctly midwestern this place feels. It made him a little homesick. Just Judy’s definitely has the vibe of a diner that’s been around since the fifties because it’s just that good. It’s definitely stood the test of time, though, clocking in at over twenty years of meals cooked pretty much according to the same old recipes, and definitely frequented by a regular crew.
The service was upbeat and friendly. Our server told us it was his first day on the floor, and that he usually works the kitchen, but he was a pro, filling coffee without us noticing and checking in at just the right lulls. I was there on a weekday, so I have no idea what Sunday brunch looks like, but with the patio space outside as well, I wouldn’t mind a wait here.
I rarely make it up Binford, but Just Judy’s is going to give me a reason to.

Mmmm, mmm good. Yes, I just used the Campbell’s Soup motto but it also applies to Just Judy’s.
We sat outside on their sidewalk patio where I was able to do some next-​level people watching. I don’t know if it was just the day we were there but the other visitors on the patio were CRAY-​CRAY which made our breakfast even more entertaining!
As far as the food goes, I ordered a veggie omelet that came with hashbrowns and toast. I also ordered a side of blueberry pancakes because. why not?
Everything was really good. Also, prices. Let’s talk about that for a minute. They’re great. Felt like I was back in my hometown where you can get everything for half the cost of Indy. Just Judy’s would fit in perfectly in New Castle!
Our server was great and offered us to-​go coffees which is always a nice touch. We’ll definitely be back next time breakfast is a-​calling.

I’ve lived on the Northeastside of Indianapolis for almost ten years, but for some reason I’ve never made it into Just Judy’s, The place has been around for 23 years or so, though I believe it was only a couple years back that they moved into their current location in a strip center at 62^nd & Binford Avenue in the same building as Peak Performance, Pâté’s, and the soon to be open Blind Owl Brewery.
Just Judy’s is one of those restaurants that focuses primarily on breakfast. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, which certainly plays into why I’ve never tried it given that I work downtown. Just Judy’s is a simple, straightforward establishment that looks and feels a lot like a smalltown diner and serves up smalltown diner grub.
I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast today and opted to go slightly outside my dietary regimen to try out their breaded tenderloin sandwich. It comes with chips or fritos, though you can upgrade to seasoned fries for $ 1.50. I upgraded and added my usual unsweetened iced tea. The entire bill came in at $ 10.20 without the tip, though it may be important to note that it’s pretty easy to eat for under $ 10 at Just Judy’s and they have several specials that are always posted on their wall.
The building in which Just Judy’s is located is an older building, but they do have a curb cut. The door itself is a glass door. It’s a little heavy, though I barely had it open before someone was trying to help me out. Just Judy’s is a small establishment and as you enter you are immediately in the dining room. They exclusively have tables, though the chairs are pretty movable and it was clear they could accommodate some fluctuation in party size. That said, they’re far too small to host anything resembling an actual «party.» My wheelchair was easily accommodated and I spied at least 3 – 4 other spots that would have easily worked. They also offer 3 – 4 tables for outside dining.
As quite a few folks have noted, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful in that smalltown diner «y’all come back now» kind of way. You could easily tell that many of the diners were regulars as staff were greeting folks by name. However, they were just as friendly to newcomers and I noticed their friendliness didn’t seem to have limits — old, young, black, white, etc.
The food? The food was good, but not great. I can honestly say I never contemplated a 5-​star rating, but I don’t think I ever thought about a 3-​star rating. The tenderloin was unquestionably hand-​breaded, though it was pounded a bit too thin in spots for my liking with crispier outer edges. It was good, but I’ll confess I was hoping for a tad better. I also found the rather plain sandwich style bun to be underwhelming. The tenderloin was far bigger than the bun, which resulted in the moist meat getting the bun a touch crumbly by the time I was finished.
The seasoned fries were also very good, but not great. The seasoning was flavorful, but not overwhelming. The order was of a decent size and the overall value was definitely solid for the meal. The iced tea was good — I did get a refill for the road, always a plus, but was disappointed that the refill arrived as sweet tea and not unsweet tea.
My inclination when I return, and I will, is to go for a breakfast meal as that is what I’ve heard the most positives about for Just Judy’s. They do have some other lunch options, including chicken and burgers, but from looking around at other diners it seems like breakfast is the way to go.
I tend to be a fan of smalltown diners. As a single guy who lives alone, it’s always nice to find places where you can get a sense of belonging. I get the feeling that Just Judy’s is that type of place. So, while I may not be quite ready to fork over that fifth star yet I do find this to be a place where I’m thinking «Why am I just now trying this place?» and pledging to return in the very near future. I will also add that they do offer free WiFi and make the password readily available in-​house.

My group arrived at Judy’s at 11am and sat outside. Our waitress, Denise, immediately came out to serve us. She was polite, informative and attentive through the entire meal. As for the meal, the food was delicious. The portions for the price were spot on. I had the seasoned tenderloin that came with two eggs, hash browns and toast. I walked away stuffed. A coworker got a full order of bacon that was perfectly cooked — Crispy, not burned, and not LIMP at all.
I highly recommend Judy’s!

Was in the neighborhood and decided to hit this place up, was looking for something quick, good and inexpensive Judy’s hits the mark on all 3.
Wife got the Midwestern omelet, thank you Judy for the lo carb option, no more a’ la carte, note to kitchen hash browns needed to be cooked longer, mushy. Coffee pot left with you, service is quick, like 5 minutes quick, gotta like that.
It is what it is, Judy’s hit’s that niche just right, don’t go changing. Two coffees, entrees and a side, with tax $ 21 bones. Scratch that itch.

I LOVE Just Judy’s. I live really close so my fiancé and I will take the occasional morning off to go get some breakfast. My favorite item here is the biscuits and gravy. It’s really filling and usually when I eat a biscuit, I’m full until dinner time. Their breakfast sandwiches are good too, but a bit on the greasy side. Their omelets are very tasty.
I am looking forward to trying their lunch. Just an FYI this place is a classic breakfast place so you won’t find fancy goat cheese omelets or anything.

This is my first time going to Judy’s at this location. It is a little diner, and it is simple but good. It’s fast and inexpensive.
I have only ever had breakfast here, and I usually just get eggs and toast with bacon. You get a lot of good food quickly.
It’s a hole in the wall diner. Lots of tables crammed together in a little space. Friendly service. Lots of regulars.

This is my go to for hearty, well cooked breakfast. The sausage gravy is the best I have ever had. The portions are big while the prices are not. If you order a cup of coffee, you get a pot left at your table. It’s good diner type fare and I promise you won’t leave hungry. On this visit I tried the country fried steak special for $ 6.25, I was so huge I took at least half home! The service here is also great.

I’m not sure I can add anything to the amazing reviews that already explain how wonderful Judy’s is. So, I’ll just add some specifics.
Our waitress, Sarah, was awesome. Check amazing service off the list. She coached us through the menu. The biscuits and gravy came with a high recommendation, but I really wanted pancakes. No problem. The breakfast plus comes with 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes, and toast or a biscuit. That’s $ 5.95. For $ 1 I made them pumpkin pancakes and for $ 0.75 more I added a tiny boat of gravy for my biscuit. So, what you see in my photo, with the cup of coffee, was $ 9.70. For 2 people with a tip breakfast was $ 25 and we left plenty full and plenty happy. Sarah even gave me a takeout menu on my way out and recommended we try lunch.
Some further details:
they are open Monday through Saturday from 7am-​?. Usually it’s 2pm, but if they are dead and Judy wants to leave they close. Sunday is 7 – 1 and breakfast only.
They have a lot of servers for a small place, and they have 2 dedicated buss boys that double as dish washers. They get your plates as soon as you indicate completion and run a well oiled machine.
The coffee is left on your table, but I only managed to pour myself a refill once, as Sarah was constantly by to top me off. Being such a small place, the servers can always see your table.
The portions are generous, but not excessive. I finished all the food I described above. I am full, but not miserable. The pancakes you get as a side are a normal 6″ size. The biscuit was flakey, fresh, and delicious. Also, it wasn’t smothered in butter which I enjoyed. The, o so heavenly, gravy was plentiful with sausage.
My only regret was not getting the breakfast bowl which is basically eggs, potatoes, and meat in a bowl covered in a bath of that amazing gravy.

A year and a half after my first review I can honestly say the only thing that has changed has been «my usual» breakfast order. I am now hooked on the veggie omelette– made with egg beaters. It is chock-​full-​o-​veggies (fresh) and perfect with a side of salsa. Hubs still rocks the «Breakfast Plus» — eggs, ham (get the ham!!), peanut butter pancakes, and toast.
Same wait staff, same quick and friendly service, all the good stuff remains. You will find us here at least once a weekend.
