Kroger

Just your normal Kroger. Nothing special. They are doing some remodels so it’s a bit nicer now.

Unfriendly staff and over priced basic grocery items. Staff at uscan checkouts don’t even acknowledge you or say thank you as you walk by them on your way out of the store.

I came in to pick up some basics — bread, milk, etc. I saw the sign over the bakery donuts case saying $ 5.99 a dozen. They looked fresh and had a few of my favorite french crullers. I asked the gal behind the counter if she needed to tag them & she pleasantly said they would just scan at the registers. Okay I headed up and got in line with everyone else on a busy Saturday afternoon. Well, the cashier rang my donuts up for $ 8 for the dozen, so when I questioned her, she said oh $ 5.99 — that is just for the preboxed ones (of which there were none out BTW). I asked why the sign would be over the donut case then & she said of well that’s just how much they are 3 for $ 2 if you pick yourself. Hmmm she didn’t even offer to correct the price.
Anyway, I guess I will continue going to my Kroger on Thompson near Emerson as the donuts there are $ 5.99 a dozen whether or not you do it yourself.
