I like coming to this store to look for things as they have an odd collection of things not normally in a giant hardware store such as pet food and supplies, canned foods, dry food goods odd brands of soda pop and much more. It’s fun to explore and see the strange things a hardware store sells, haha. Kind of like they mixed a Big Lots into part of their inventory, haha. I like to compare prices here with the other national chain hardware stores and Menards is usually right on par with the rest. Plus it seems Menards is able to special order things the other stores can’t such as a customer wood look metal frame door. And it was a decent price too. The staff seems to be mostly in the front of the store, but the ones in the various departments are friendly and helpful when you need to find something.

This Menards is absolutely horrific! The department managers are great in the back half of the store, but the front half managers have their heads up their … I’m convinced that this is the ‘Walmart’ of hardware stores regarding product knowldege. Also, get the cashiers some heaters for petes sake!!! The cashiers are freezing… and to rectify that your front end managers CLOSETHEAUTOMATICDOORS that are meant for the customers to take product through. RIDICULOUS! Home depot gives their cashiers individual heaters and don’t make their customers walk 10′ 2x4s through individual doors

Dealing with customers isn’t all that tough. You start with, «How ya doin’, can I help you find something?» You don’t stare at the customer and wait for them to initiate the conversation. I have also noticed that it’s worse in the summer at Menard’s. They have a lot of kids working that don’t know a hammer from a pry bar working there. Their prices seem to be a bit better, hence I sometimes do what I must to save a couple of bucks.

By far the worst service I have EVER experience. I am not sure if the place is beginning to fall apart or what is going on, I won’t name the experiences. I will tell you this much. It took 3BAD, CONSECUTIVE; experiences for me to stop money from flowing into this branch, maybe even at a whole level. I have contacted corporate numerous times and no sign of help is coming my way. A simple sorry and that is about it. I am not expecting a payout of any kind, but as a person who works in sales and customer satisfaction. a simple $ 5.00 gift card or free shipping, would have worked. No one greets you, it just seems like no one ever wants to help. It’s like Menards is the Walmart of the hardware stores. I switched to Home Depot on Southport rd, 10 times better! Everyone is always trying to help.

I’m a fan of Menards. Simple as that. Their pricing and selection is good. Service is fine. Go here before the other big box stores. They probably have it… Cheaper. Plus they have food, dvds and other stuff

We made 3 trips to this location today. No shopping was accomplished because NO electric scooters were available. At the service desk I asked if they still had the scooters and she commented ‘only 1′ and it must be in use. She asked me to make a complaint to corporate so they could get them back. If you have mobility issues and want to shop here be sure to take your own scooter.

This used to be a favorite before they dropped the military discount. On Memorial Day weekend, no less. Too bad. We can go right across the street to Home Depot, where the selection and service is better, and get 10% off every purchase with a military ID. Purchases at these stores can be expensive and 10% can make a big difference.

This one on southport used to be good… new head store management took over last year and its really gone downhill pretty quick. There are a lot of unfamiliar faces there who weren’t as knowledgeable as the people I knew there for years. I’d recommend one of the two Lowe’s stores within 5 minutes of the place.

Just moved into our new place and we needed junk. First stop, Menards. I think the real reason I come to Menards over the other chain hardware stores is b/c of the Sprecher sodas. The stores are relatively disjointed and not organized very well. When I am looking for something I feel like I’m playing hide and seek. We were in this weekend looking for a dehumidifier and wandering, pushing the squeaky wheeled cart, heads bobbing from side to side, mouths agape, and eyes wide, searching. Finally asked an employee after our second circle around the main aisles. We were then taken on another goose chase and she had to ask 2 other employees. I will probably keep coming back b/c I like to wander and my thoughts are kind of set up like Menards. I also need Sprecher.

I’ve been here many times after purchasing a home in the general proximity. Virtually all experiences have been positive and prices(sink, faucet, lumber, cleaners, painting accessories, hand tools, power tools) have been lower than others. A lot of times the help can direct me in the right direction; however sometimes they are less than helpful. Once I priced out many cedar planks and posts(Thursday), 2×6’s, and upon arriving with my truck to purchase them the next day(Friday) they quoted me completely different prices, increasing the price of lumber for a project by 20+%, or a few hundred dollars for this particular project.

Menards is good when you need something for your home and you know EXACTLY what you are looking for. If you need help, the people working here have no idea what’s going on. Tip: They sell spreckers root beer here!
