Business Owner

Dr. Robert Stoner has been in the full-time practice of orthodontics since 1983. He has the experience of having successfully treated over 7,000 patients in the past 28 years.

It is Dr. Stoner’s goal to create ideal dental esthetics and function with optimum facial balance and harmony in a friendly and compassionate environment. He has developed numerous techniques for moving teeth and controlling the supporting bones and has headed numerous research projects. Dr. Stoner is honored to be on the teaching staff of the Tweed Course in Tucson, Arizona. For over ten years, Dr. Stoner served as a clinical professor volunteer in the Department of Orthodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry.

He was a lecturer at the American Society of Orthodontics in Hawaii in 2012, and has been a mentor to the Serbian Association of Orthodontics and the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Belgrade the past three years. He continues to travel there on a yearly basis to teach courses

Stoner orthodontics is great, the staff are very helpful in working with you schedule. I am pleased to say he does an excellent job in working with my children and he is honest. I appreciate the fact that he actually waits till the kids are ready to be put in braces, unlike most orthodontist who are doing a two phase system which will cost more in the end. I will recommend Dr. Stoner to everyone.

I visited Dr. Stoner in my teenage years for Orthodontic treatment.
In my opinion Dr. Stoner is an unskilled Orthodontist practicing outdated orthodontic techniques.
Dr. Stoner unnecessarily removed four of my teeth when he should have simply followed newer and innovative Functional Orthodontic techniques by utilizing a Rapid Palate Expander to widen my dental arch to improve spacing which eliminates the need to remove teeth.
In additional, after the tooth extractions he used traditional fixed braces to further crowd my mouth. Now as an adult I suffer from poor breathing, a narrow arch, and sleep apnea.
I cannot recommend Dr. Stoner and would advise anyone seeking Orthodontic treatment for themselves or their kids to look into a better solution for tooth crowding and crooked teeth than the traditional tooth extractions + fixed braces method which is outdated.
I found a much better Orthodontist in Carmel that used a Rapid Palate Expander known as the Homeoblock which helps to expand the jaw and improve spacing and eliminates the need to remove precious teeth. I only wish I would have gone to him when I was younger.

The entire staff is excellent with helping all their patients overcome the initial trepidation of the braces experience. I had a particularly difficult issue that Dr. Stoner and his staff handled very well and without the surgery I was told I needed by other orthodontists. The pricing was more reasonable too. I now receive compliments from random strangers and my business opportunities have expanded almost overnight. Thanks, Stoner Orthodontics. You may have fixed my deformity, but you really gave me confidence and a whole new wonderful (& healthier) life.
