Awesome service. Thanks Paula for the suggestions on my haircut, i normally dont know how to tell a stylist how to cut my hair but you read my mind. I put my trust in you on what ro do and it paid off.

I first moved to Indy two years ago, & Salon 6 was the first salon I visited after reading the great Unilocal reviews. I haven’t gone anywhere else since!
This salon feels much pricier than it actually is. The receptionist is always very friendly & accommodating, offering coffee or soda when you enter & ushering you into an adorable waiting area. The stylist are all dressed to nines & sporting awesome hair cuts, which is always encouraging to see in a salon!
I always request Shelby. She’s done all kinds of crazy stuff with my hair & I’ve always loved it. My very first visit with her, I had 8 inches cut off & dyed my normally light brown hair purple. It looked fabulous, & Shelby was clearly very excited to do something fun! Over the past two years for me she’s done fringe bangs, side bangs, layers, & curling, not to mention all the colors. I think so far we’ve done purple, plum, red, deep brown, highlights, blonde, & soon rose gold. Oh, & her scalp massages during the shampoo… oh my gosh. She should give lessons to boyfriends.
I go see Shelby every 8 weeks or so for a new fun color or touch up. It’s always great catching up with her. I’m so glad I found this place!

Highly recommend. This is the only place I get my hair cut… Paula cuts my hair and does an amazing job every time. So long as I’m in Indy I will not be getting my haircut anywhere else or by anyone else.

Went last night for my first cut, and Shelby did a fantastic job. Professional and fast. Even got me scheduled for 2 more appointments so we can fix my color and then start playing with creative color. So happy!

I made a same-​day appointment with Shelby, and let me just say I absolutely love my hair! Normally I leave the salon feeling like it’ll grow on me, but she saw what I had envisioned and went above and beyond what I had pictured in my head. It’s perfect. The salon itself is super cute inside and offers a really relaxing hair washing station with low lighting. It’s a really clean facility as well. They offer you a beverage when you first walk in which I really like. It’s just an all around really great environment! I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in Indy looking for a place to get a great cut!

I wanted to like this place… I really did.
It started off great! The salon itself was quite lovely — décor was trendy chic, the front desk staff were nice and helpful, they had a cute little waiting room — 5 stars so far, very promising!
The beginning of the appointment went well too… my stylist came out and we chit chatted a bit. She was super nice. I came prepared with pictures to give her an idea of what I was looking for. We talked about my hair type and what style I typically sport etc. I felt like it was a good consult. Then we moved to the back for the shampoo portion of the appointment… OMG, best scalp massage ever. I almost fell asleep — it was glorious… GLORIOUS!!!
Here’s where things take a turn though. I’m not sure if it was just my stylist, or if she was just having an ‘off’ day, but I received one of the worst haircuts of my life. I’m relatively simple — just asked for some long side-​swipe style bangs and some long layers in my decently long mane. Nothing too drastic. The bangs were waaaaaay too short and more than a little crooked, plus she only took a little tiny bit of hair in the front… mini-​bangs. Not a huge deal because I’ve had LOTS of practice cutting my own bangs — I let it slide in the chair and fixed them at home that very night. Hey, bangs are tricky… right?
I actually didn’t notice the worst of it until I was home — you see, I had a holiday party that night, so we had decided (during the what-​appeared-​to-​be-​awesome consult) that she would curl it up all pretty for the evening once she was done with the cut. It looked good leaving the salon, but when those curls washed out I’m not gonna lie it was pretty bad. Those long layers we talked about were choppy, chunky and not at all even. The whole cut was also pretty blunt — like bowl cut style on the bottom — just a big ol’ straight line. Not good. It reminded me of when I was little and I got sick of my Barbie’s long luxurious mane… she would totally look better with a chic bob… totally :/​
On the plus side, she did listen to how long i wanted it — got the length spot on (silver lining?)
This was my first time at Salon 6 and I’ll be honest, I’m not gonna be back. They get 3 stars for absolutely nailing the ambiance and shampoo, but the bad cut taints the experience. The hunt for a decent haircut in Indianapolis continues!

This was the place I first went to back in 2009 when I was rocking the Bieber flip-​esque haircut that made me look like I was a caveman.
Then comes Salon 6 and bam — my entire aura changed. I went into my freshman classes and felt like a new person. Off went the overly grown bangs and fluff ball sides; in came the style. (This was back before they moved locations, too.)
I’m always so nervous going to new hair salons /​stylists cause they don’t know your head shape and style, but the stylists at Salon 6 pick up very quickly. (Keep in mind, I’m a guy, so I’m not sure about the ladies.)
My stylist was Megan, an amazing person, very professional, and always had a new color of hair when I went in. She was great– eliminated that awkward silence when you’re getting your hair cut.
She picked up how I got my hair cut quickly and remembered every time.
I would suggest Salon 6 to all the guys out there that might not have a salon in the Broad Ripple area. They’re very affordable, you get a nice wash and scalp massage, and you’re always taken care of!

Salon 6 is a wonderful hidden gem in Broadripple. Their stylist Jordan S. Definitely went above and beyond! Perfect hair cut, PLUS a great scalp massage, straight blade neck shave, hot towel, the works! Major complements from work and friends alike. I thought it was hard to keep the ladies away before! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great men’s haircut. Jordan was the absolute best!

Salon 6 was recommended to me by a friend 4 years ago and I have been going since. My hairstylist did an incredible job for the first three years and then she gave me a really bad haircut. One side was TWO inches shorter than the other side. How does that even happen?!? I was a bit shocked because she had been so incredible previously. I went back and she tried to fix my hair for free but it still didn’t look good. Then I continued going back to her 2 more times and she just did not cut my hair right. We came to the conclusion that my hair needs to be layered because I have thick and plentiful hair that if it’s not in layers than it looks like a box. The last two times I cut my hair, she forgot to layer it and I was so frustrated, yet I kept giving her another chance.
As much as I loved my hair cuts initially, I think I am ready to find a new place. My hair is now shorter than expected and I’ve been trying to grow it out for my wedding. It is short because my hair stylist cut it over and over until both sides were even. Now I’m going to purchase hair extensions for my wedding because there is no way my hair will be long enough by then. I have to spend more money (last thing you want to do when you’re planning and paying for a wedding).
I’m sad because I really loved going here. The customer service is excellent and my hairstylist was always on time. I am happy to be going somewhere else because I’m ready for better haircuts AND I don’t want to pay $ 65 for a haircut anymore. I used to pay a lot less in Los Angeles. It is just too expensive.

I’ve been going to Salon 6 for about a year now and have been so happy with my hair! I see Shelby and she does a fantastic job of cutting and styling my hair and always has great suggestions as well. I’m normally not one to spend money on hair products, but she suggested a couple that were well worth the money. I have bangs so that requires me to visit a bit more frequently, but their free bang trims require no appointment so it is super convenient to just drop in when they’re getting a little too long! Everyone in the salon is really friendly too.

Kyndel is the best! I can be picky and have a ton of hair. It took me months to find a great place when I first moved to Indy. I’ve been going here for a couple years now. Im always extremely happy when I leave. Cut and color is always perfect.

Scheduled first appointment with Jackie. The overall experience was pleasant, and she really listened to what I wanted. I mentioned that my bangs were very important for me to be able to style easily at home. At the end she flat ironed everything (I have wavy-​curly hair) and it looked great.
Called back to make my second appointment, and my call was never returned. This is a huge no-​no for me since I am in the customer service industry and would never ignore a request from a client. I’m disappointed to have to look for another salon because I would have liked to work with Jackie again.

Went back again and again and have had Jackie Porter cut my hair.
Very nice. Again, great wash in a dim lit room which helps with the relaxation of the wash and massage! Massage is wonderful!
Jackie is very nice to chat with. And she also gives you quiet relaxation time, too!
This is my new Salon! YEah!

Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. I just got a touch up and it looks great. Just in time for thanksgiving and the all the family pictures. I would highly recommend this place. Make sure that you are very clear and specific with whoever your stylist is.

Shelby did a great job on my hair, it came out exactly how I wanted it to. The salon was cute and the staff was very friendly.

Got myself a nice little hair cut here promptly after moving to Indy. Cute little salon, friendly staff. And a great spruce up to my ‘do right before interviewing for my job! I definitely appreciate somewhere that gives a great precision cut, after having a couple of bad hair cuts elsewhere!

I am so happy I found Megan Gill at Salon 6! I’ve been going to her for 3 years now, and every time she gives me a fantastic haircut. Even when I give vague input like «I just want something lighter and fresher,» she nails it. I recently recommended a friend to her, and she reported a great haircut too, even though her hair is totally different than mine. Plus, Megan’s scalp massages are so relaxing, I almost fell asleep last time! She is also so sweet and fun to chat with — ask her about being on the Naptown Roller Girls team!
Salon 6 has a serene atmosphere great for gals and guys alike. The staff has always been great, and I like the organic Eufora product line they use, too. If you’re having trouble choosing one of the main hair salons in Broad Ripple, try Salon 6!

Salon 6 is an absolute gem! Anyone who’s serious about their hair knows that you can’t just belly-​up anywhere and get what you’re looking for. Hair salons and stylists are about as personal as choosing underwear… if not more! After making a few «wrong-​turns» after moving to town, I came across Salon 6 and my stylist… Paul.
When you first walk in the door, you meet a smiling face. The front desk staff are always super friendly and ever-​so-​helpful. If you happen to arrive early (or your stylist is running behind… which neeeeeever happens, right?!) you’re escorted to the waiting area which is filled with magazines and drinks. The Keurig coffee machine is a great addition! The décor is relaxing and so are the couches!
The salon is tastefully decorated throughout and the sink area is lighted perfectly which adds to a very relaxing experience. There are a variety of personalities amongst the stylists so you’re sure to find one that suits your personal style.
Last but certainly not least are the products. I believe this is a Eufora salon… they certainly carry enough products to be one if they’re not! The products are readily available for purchase and they’re carefully explained before they’re used during your appointment. The best part is that not once have I ever felt like I had product jammed down my throat. All in all, Salon 6 has been my best hair-​cutting experience since I’ve moved to town. Way to go peeps!

My new go-​to salon. I needed a new salon near my home in Broad Ripple, and Salon 6 is it! I visited Ashley to take me from blonde to dark brunette for the winter. She listened to my wants and ended up giving me a great color. She also gave me a cut that’s easy to style and makes me feel great.
Their prices are comparable, if not a few bucks cheaper, than other salons in the area. Customer is service is great, and everyone makes you feel comfortable. If you’re looking for a new stylist, check out Ashley! I’ve already recommended her to my boyfriend, and he now has a sexy new do that I love!
