Description

Specialties

We are a New Orleans-style music venue, conveniently located on the north side of Indianapolis (in Broad Ripple Village). No matter what the season, we always have something going on. We feature Karaōke five nights a week and regional and local talent on stage Saturday nights.

Open Karaōke on Sun., Thur., & Fri. at 10pm. Come over and put yourself on the map for Tuesday evenings with the ever popular D.J., «Dougie Rocks,» for our Monkey Idol Karaōke competition. Tuesday, the party is going full-swing! On Wed. nights, TNT Dynamite hosts Wacky Wheel of Fortune Karaōke at 10pm. Spin the wheel for various song selections and a chance to win complimentary drinks, giftcards to local vendors, and more!

We also schedule themed parties like, «Pajama Parties,» «Huggie Parties,» «Couch Potato Parties» and more… They are loads of fun, even if you just want to watch.

History

Established in 1986.

The Monkey’s Tale Bar, located at 925 E. Westfield Boulevard in Broad Ripple, started out as Broad Ripple’s best-kept secret in June of 1986. Tucked away at the back of the «Blue Room» in The Jazz Cooker Restaurant, it boasted a total of nine seats at the bar. For the first two years of its existence, a small (select) group of employees, family, and friends ate, drank, and made merry until the wee hours of the morning. Then, the secret got out. It is still considered one of Broadripple’s best-kept secrets!

Time is change, and change is good. Since 1986, The Monkey’s Tale has grown in size, recognition and prominence. Although the restaurant closed December 31 of 2005, The Monkey’s Tale (now very much its own entity) continued serving the partying public in Broad Ripple a variety of great music, good times, and great drinks. The Monkey’s Tale showcases local and regional bands and Karaōke year– round on stage and (weather permitting) on the deck under the stars.
