University Park

Well on my little adventure the other night, I stopped by university park and decided to climb off my bike for a minute and check it out. If you’ve never been here before it is essentially the southern half of the war memorial, but it has its own Unilocal page, so why not write about it:)
This park is another gem of the N-​S stretch of green in the center of the city. I was only there a second, but this would make a great downtown lunch spot. The immensity of towering Chase Tower looms South and the grandiosity of the war memorial lies North. What I found most interesting about this place is the photo opportunity. It is in the direct center of Meridian and thus you can straddle the E-​W, well meridian, while taking great shots (being an engineering geek, this is fun). In fact, I witnessed an old man fumbling around with a Polaroid while I was there! Don’t let it fool you, octogenarians can also be hipsters too! Anyway look for this spot, it might really surprise you when you stop and take a look around.
