Wyndham Indianapolis West

Stayed at this hotel for a dart tournament i was playing in. I liked the fact that the hotel was attached to the event. Made it very convenient.
The room I stayed in was pretty nice, a lot bigger than I expected. Not sure if I was upgraded or just because it was a room at the end of the hall. The room was clean and well kept. Could use a few upgrades but was still nice. Comfortable bed and a large shower. The water pressure in the shower was a little light, but that is common in a hotel.
The staff at check in was great. I cant remember a faster check in.
The restaurant in side the hotel was great also (will give them their own review).
I would have no problem staying again.

My fiancé and I stayed there for a Titans vs Colts game. We booked the room using Hotwire for a very reasonably price. AFTER booking, I read some of the most recent reviews and I was a bit nervous to stay. When we got there it was exactly opposite of what I expected. The staff was so kind and helpful. We got to our room and it smelled of smoke. I called the desk right away to avoid a fee after we left and they offered to change our room and made note so we didn’t get charged. The room was clean and cozy. One of the outlets was a bit unreliable but nothing that deserves less than 5 stars.

Very outdated hotel and their service left me wondering if the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. The remote for my TV wasn’t working and someone showed up at 5:30am in the morning to knock on my door saying he was from maintenance. I never called for maintenance. Price was discounted on
but you get what you pay for I guess.

Oooh. Yikes. I usually like the Wyndham. This hotel, however is outdated and just not great. Stains on flooring, switched rooms due to my tv not working, no soda machine near ice machine, the overall look of hallways and rooms are just kind of grimy. The staff I encountered, from the van driver to the employees who checked us in, were very pleasant, so this review is not to reflect them. They were great. Unfortunately, a friendly staff isn’t enough for a great stay. This hotel needs a makeover, to be a WYNDHAM hotel.

Came here for a weekend to see a Colts game. We had to wait 10 mins in the lobby, just to check in, even though I’m pretty sure this place was empty. This might be the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room reeked of cigarettes, the bed sheets had stains on them and the TV was barely functional, at best. The worst part was the café downstairs, we were starving from our plane ride and didn’t want to trek downtown just yet. We paid $ 10 for a turkey sandwich, with soggy bread, completely wilted lettuce and some fake looking cheese. I’ve never been more terrified to consume a meal in my life.

Ok. Checked in for one night. We have a seizure alert dog. We informed them of this and they placed us at the far end of the hotel away from civilization. The parking lot was closed so we had to walk and walk and walk to get to our room. When we asked for a room change because of the distance and the fact that the room smelled like smoke and the TV did not work we were told because of our dog that was the designated room for us. Have these people not ever been informed that a service dog can not be discriminated against? He’s not a pet he’s my life line. They seemed ignorant and poorly trained. Rooms were ok. Nothing special or bad to say about the rooms for the price. Better training and understanding of special needs would have made this a non-​event stay. Sad this day and age to have to worry about this.
Per the hotel response, yes we were moved only after I demanded it in a crowded lobby. We were moved just down the hallway closer to the exit that went to a parking lot which was blocked and not accessible. While the room was better smelling and the TV worked the location was still well removed from the entrance one had to use because of the closed parking lot. This distance was literally the length of the hotel. As for the staff, one can not help but take offense when told that due to our dog we had to be placed in the location we were placed. Also the young manager telling me it was due to allergies. If the hotel staff were properly trained that comment would not have been made and my service dog would not have been considered in the placement of our room.

Sheets were clean in a decent sized room with two double beds. Carpet chunks were replaced with new carpet due to some weird red stains throughout the room, shower facet was coming apart and the water was either Scalding hot or cold. The cleaning crew was annoying loud in the am. Probably better hotels for the same price nearby.

We had prepaid for the room but the hotel overbooked its rooms and we got bumped to another hotel. When arriving late at night, moving to another hotel was the last thing I wanted to do. Desk clerk was friendly. Lobby looked nice.

I’m giving 1 star instead of 5, because I’m VERY angry about 1 thing. Here it is:
I booked a stay here over July 4^th weekend, and I used Hotwire. When I saw I got the Wyndham, I was really happy, because there are some really crappy hotels in Indy. We were booked from Thursday night to Saturday night, have breakfast on Sunday, and leave. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to leave Saturday afternoon, leaving Wyndham with an opportunity to re-​book it immediately. We left about 3:30, and the line was SUPER long to check in, as the Rolling Stones were playing that night, and the hotel was filling up. I asked for my money back for the night I wasn’t going to use (Saturday) and I was told I would receive an updated receipt through Hotwire, showing that I did not stay Saturday night, and that I would be refunded. Well, they lied. My receipt said I stayed my whole trip, and showed I was not refunded for the night I didn’t stay. What Wyndham did was sell my room to someone, and kept the money, even though the room was paid for. So if anyone reading this stayed in 334 on Saturday, July 4^th, you got taken advantage of, and so did I. I called Wyndham about it and they said they sent Hotwire the correct dates I stayed. This was a lie. It’s a shame, and I’m sick to my stomach about it. I even took out the $ 15.00 insurance policy through Hotwire just in case there were any issues– because I’ve learned my lesson before… And basically the insurance company said that because I didn’t leave due to a death, there was nothing I could do. I’m pissed off, and I’m telling all of you to stay at Wyndham at your own risk. I didn’t see bedbugs or burn holes, but I saw shady business, and that is why there is 1 crappy star on this review.
NOT COOL. Oh, also, their TV cable system is garbage. But whatever. I’ve seen managers contact other people about their reviews. If this happens to me, I’ll let you all know if they tell me there’s nothing they can do about it, which I fully expect… Next year, I’ll be staying elsewhere. No matter WHAT CITY I GO TO. (This is also being tweeted. People NEED to know.)

My husband and I were traveling together and this hotel experience was less than desirable. I booked this stay through the Southwest Airlines website since we would need travel/​shuttle service to the airport in Indianapolis the next morning. We checked in and went to our room. The exterior and lobby of the hotel was nice however the rooms were very dated and the King room was extremely small. It felt warm in the room so we turned the air down to 70 (it was set at 77) after about an hour it did not feel any cooler so we moved the air down again to 67 and called the front desk. The lady said she would send someone right up. A little over an hour and a half later we still had not seen anyone but we had to be up for an early flight in about 4 ½ hours so I called down again to the desk and explained that we would «tough it out» due to our early departure. There was no apology, just an «okay, thanks for letting us know.» Throughout the night the room reached about 78 degrees. Once we left the room to check out and went to the lobby we realized the air conditioning was out in the entire hotel. It was about 85 – 90 degrees in the lobby. Upon check out I asked the man at the desk of I needed to do anything since I was leaving my car for a week. He said, «yea, it’s $ 6/​day… You’ll need to pay.» I told him I booked through the Southwest site and was supposed to have had the «park and fly» rate. He said, «well you don’t so you need to pay.» He was extremely rude and again no apology for the extreme heat in our rooms. I asked him politely if there was anything he could do about the charge since i was under the impression I would not have to pay and our room being nearly 80 degrees and he responded with, «well it’s hot down here too!» I about lost my shit! I told him he GETS paid to be there and I PAID to be there! He then went to «get security.» I’m not sure why no one was yelling but the security «guard» came out and said it was fine to park «this time» for no charge. I quickly responded, «no worries, due to your lack of decent customer service, I won’t be staying here again.» Something as simple as an apology and a slight compensation would have prevented this review being so negative.

I stayed Friday night through Sunday morning for a local gaming convention. All of the hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful and made for a great stay. They provided lots of great space for games!
Our room was clean and comfortable and had a nice bathroom. The beds were quite nice and I slept soundly. The only thing lacking there were chairs, as there was only one office chair in the room. However, we spent most of the weekend out of the room so no big deal.

Still a great hotel.
Large room and standard sized bathroom.
Coffee maker with teas and coffee in room.
Cordless phone.
Back side had moderate airport noise.
Slept well in a comfy bed.
Adequate lighting and curtains kept the room very dark after the sun rose.
Nice shower pressure, but had to report the water backing up in the tub.

Overall it’s ok. The rooms are «clean-​ish». Not barefoot clean, but acceptable. Resturaunt is overpriced, but the lounge is a nice place to hang out, watch the game, and enjoy a beer or two. Even local things on tap. There’s a 24 hr café so even those early morning departures can get a cup of coffee. And a frée airport shuttle that runs every 30 mins and frée wifi!
Overall, not the best, but comfortable and reasonable.

This was my first stay at a Wyndham and I have to say, it’s truly a mixed review. Parts of my time was very good at this location, and parts were pretty disappointing. I attended a conference here in February (2015) and was able to see the convention spaces, as well as the guest rooms.
The beds were very comfortable and clean, the hotel offered free wifi, and the staff was very attentive. The conference space was accommodating and open, and the food we were served was incredible… they had a fajita meal, barbecue, pork and mashed potatoes and all of our was simply outstanding.
When I first got into my room I unpacked everything then got ready to take a quick shower. Unfortunately, the shower was broken (completely, only a bath ran) so I had to re-​pack all of my things and move to a different space. The staff was helpful and responded quickly to this, but you would think that they would have a better idea of rooms which need to be offline or not, or at least check the basics.
The next morning I was awoken at 8am to a super squeaky cart, and the squeakiness continued throughout the weekend. I am not a light sleeper but these carts are incredibly noisy and obnoxious, and should just be fixed. Again, another small thing with an easy remedy.
Besides there being no mini-​fridge in the room and the water glasses being absurdly dirty at one of the dinners, the rest of my stay was great. This wouldn’t be a terrible place to stop in for a night at all, but spending three days here wasn’t the greatest, to no fault of the staff. This hotel just needs an investment in basic repairs and updating and it could easily be world-​class.

Stayed here on a random trip to Indy. Not the worse hotel. The beds were super comfortable and everything was clean. Why was room service knocking at my door at 8 am? What do you need at 8 am? Go away!

My girlfriend made a reservation through
to stay here on a whim during a road trip from North Carolina to Minneapolis. We wanted an inexpensive hotel to rest, take a shower, and get back on the road the next morning.
My first impression was positive upon arriving, the hotel was conveniently on the freeway and the lobby looked updated, with a friendly desk person to greet us.
We quickly had our room key, and headed that way. Here is where the story turns… I quickly made mention to my partner that the carpet was old, and it looked much different from the lobby, as we headed toward our room.
Entering the room, we noticed it looked like someone had slept in the bed, and there was a used soap in the sink. We quickly backed out and went back to the front desk to report this.
We were quickly «upgraded» to the 6^th floor, and we were on our way.
The room was much bigger, but with the same décor, so not much of an upgrade in most respects. The room was clean this time.
We ordered room service, which was the only positive part of this experience. The food was typical bar fare, nothing fancy.
Waking up, my girlfriend was unable to get any hot water. I tried, with no luck out of both faucets… just semi cold water. I called the front desk to ask what the trick was, and they stated the water was being fixed, and she would call me back in 10 minutes. Apparently the repair person was already there. More than 30 minutes passed, with no call and no hot water, and a road trip schedule to keep, so we stopped at the front desk to complain. We were offered free coffee in the shop located in the lobby. It had a line 20 deep outside of it. Sad to say, we’ll not be staying here again under any circumstance.

I was going to Indy for a trade show. I usually Hotwire my rooms, when I have to stay multiple nights and I was pleased to see my selection came up the Wyndham Indy by the airport. I checked in past midnight and was beat, so I was ready to crash, knowing I had a very early day the next day. I plugged in my phone and laptop next to the wall next to the bed and put my laptop and phone on the floor, as I didn’t want to leave it on the bed and have it fall in the middle of the night. When my alarm went off, I got up on the wall side of the bed (not the nightstand side) to grab my phone and unplug my laptop and noticed I stepped on something. I turned on the light and it turns out that I stepped on a slightly moist condom and wrapper. I am a seasoned traveler. Typically when I travel for business, I won’t stay below anything that is 3 ½ stars, mostly due to experiences. Not only was I completely furious, but I was on a strict schedule. I quickly showered, the shower was slow to heat up, after 5 minutes I took a cool shower that eventually warmed up as I was turning off the water. Before I left, I quickly checked my email only to find the «free» internet was so slow that I had to teether my phone to receive a wifi signal. On my way out, I asked to speak to a manager and the only manager available at 7:12 AM in the morning was the housekeeping manager, Tammy. I informed Tammy of the incident and she casually apologized and said she would make sure it was taken care of. At this point I was running late, so I said to Tammy I would follow up with the hotel manager when I returned. I was livid with disgust and their casual approach to the occurrence. On my way to the trade show, I called Hotwire to inform them of the incident and they canceled my reservation and booked another room in another hotel and informed me to gather my things after the trade show.
After my day, I checked in with the manager at the hotel and spoke to manager on duty and said I wanted to talk about the incident this morning. After waiting 5 minutes at the front desk, the manager came to the lobby. I asked her if she knew of an incident that happened this morning and she said she did not. I informed her of the incident and I asked to have a incident report to be filled out and something in writing that Wyndham hotels would be responsible if I pursued any medical attention, such as doctor’s visits or testing and refund my stay for the evening. She said she could not authorize anything but would be happy to write up the incident report and have me talk with security. I spent the next 20 minutes talking to security and explaining the incident and she said she would ask a member of management to phone me. That was last Wednesday 11÷5÷14 and it’s now Monday 11÷10÷14 and as of today I have not received a phone call or email.
I am horrified at this incident and completely dumbfounded at the lack of response from the staff at this hotel. Do yourself a favor, do not stay here. Posted a picture too. Shame on you Wyndham Hotels.

Was here for a business weekend, and I honestly don’t get all the bummer reviews — I’ve stayed in a fair number of convention hotels near airports over the past few years and this was far and away one of the cleanest, friendliest and most efficient.
We were a huge and boisterous bunch this past weekend, but the staff were up to the challenge, and went out of the way to get me everything from an extra ice bucket (they don’t have fridges and I tend to bring my own food), to coffee in a pinch (the room service number got misdirected to the bar and this poor guy had RUN from the kitchen to get the phone; «Not a problem», he said as he caught his breath, and five minutes later that SAME GUY was at my door. VERY GREAT STAFF!).
As I just mentioned, no refrigerators and it is true that the wifi is very touch and go. I also could have done with a premium channel or two (I don’t do sports or reality TV, so it was pretty much ‘Law and Order’ marathons or news, which gets a little old). But then again, I wasn’t in my room much — I may have felt differently had I been, but I can’t for the life of me wonder why anyone would go to a place ten minutes from the airport for a getaway.
Didn’t get to the restaurant (as I said, I’m not big on hotel food outside of NYC), but I did spend time with friends in the bar and saw what they were eating, and everyone said the food was great. I did try a piece of their flatbread pizza margherita which, while tasty, was most definitely not flatbread (this is why I bring my own food).
The 24-​hour café, while I didn’t partake of it, is a big plus.
All in all, it was a comfortable and accommodating stay on a really hectic weekend.
Provided you don’t expect backflips when you get there (and access to your own wifi), I think you’ll have a comfortable experience.

I stayed here for two nights this past weekend with my fiancé and also got a second room for my parents. On first impressions this hotel looked pretty nice and we were happy to see that it had a 24 hour café open inside of it. However the first impressions would be slightly misleading as we quickly found out. My mom is not one to ride elevators and seeing how we were located on the 4^th floor, she had to go find the stairs. To say that they were inconveniently located would be an understatement. There was only one set that went from the first floor to the fourth floor (there were more sets of stairs but they were all to fire exits) and those stairs happened to be on the exact opposite end of the hotel. The hotel was set up in a U shape and so we had to go from one end of the U to the complete other side. So after a bit of walk we made it to the rooms and they looked to be pretty nice. They had your normal large flat screen TV’s, a desk, 2 beds and a decent amount of space. The beds themselves were fairly comfortable but man were they small. I think that calling them doubles could be misleading although they were certainly a bit bigger than twins. Once again not a deal breaker for staying here but not ideal. Then the first night that we were there neither my room nor my parents room had any cold water. I don’t know how or why that would happen as it doesn’t seem logical but we both mentioned it to each other the next morning. My mother also told me that whenever she called the front desk she was told that no one else had complained about that. I don’t really find that the correct answer whenever someone is staying at your hotel but I suppose it was ok for them? Finally the last item to happen is that my dad ended up using the telephone to make 3 local calls, 2 of which didn’t go through. Cost of that was $ 1 per call. Awesome right? Personally I didn’t look at the phones and I am sure that there was something on them saying as much but charging for local calls even if they didn’t go through ended up being the cherry on top for this place. I know that I sound like I am complaining a lot so honestly the place wasn’t too bad to stay in. Everything that we encountered seemed to be relatively minor but they all just added up for me.
The bottom line for me is that I would probably not be back here again in the future. While the rate I received was pretty good, there were a bit too many inconveniences for my liking and the next time I will find somewhere else.

Old building & carpet, definitely needs to remodel. Small rooms. Smelly hallways. No breakfast/​coffee/​cookies like any other hotel charging $ 140/​night. Wi-​fi is extremely slow. When my room was cleaned I didn’t get any amenities re-​stocked.
Received 2 stars because they have a great gym and the staff is friendly.
