Established in 1963.
Facilities
The ABC Recovery Center encompasses a seven-acre campus, one block long, occupying both sides of a tranquil street in a suburban neighborhood in Indio, California.

One side includes a Sub-Acute Detox facility, a Men’s Residence, a Women’s residence, a Dining Hall, a laundry facility, a Men’s Dormitory and a one-story two suite accommodation for men.
The other side includes a 10 bungalow Transitional Living Village, with private rooms, patios and a fountain; The McGovern House, a six room facility with private playground for new mothers & their children; a Sober Living Village with 12 units featuring kitchenettes along with an Outpatient Center and the Administration Building/Community Center.
Meet the Manager
David L.
Manager
J. David Likens serves as executive chief officer at ABC Recovery. He has more than ten years experience in the field of addiction and recovery. He has background in administration, legal, personnel, programmatic and patient care related issues as well as in fundraising, public relations and marketing. He has managed, trained and supervised addiction treatment employees. He has designed and implemented new treatment programs, protocols, policies and procedures. For several years, he worked closely with the California court system including parole and probation departments and the Public Defender’s Office. David is also an adjunct professor at Mt. San Antonio College and is a member of the State Bar of California. David has given many television, radio and newspaper interviews.
David received a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern School of Law and is certified in alcohol drug counseling and alcohol drug studies.
