What can you say about the recreational district here. That really good after school programs like volleyball basketball weightlifting is a track inside just a bunch of good stuff for kids to keep him out of trouble and of the streets

«The District» definitely does not have the polish of some of the area gyms, but it does have pretty much everything you could want to enhance your level of fitness: resistance machines, running track, basketball, racquetball, fitness classes, etc. They even have a competitive gymnastics team for kids. If you live in Indio, Palm Desert(where they have another location), or Rancho Mirage, the rates are ridiculously cheap. If you’re tired of the scene at 24-Hour Fitness and/or Gold’s, check this place out — not only will you get a lot more, you’ll get a lot more for your money.

The Coachella Valley Recreation Center in Indio(Indio Rec for short) has been my second home since I was in elementary school. Being involved in the youth basketball league until highschool the staff has always go well beyond the normal standards you’ll find at gyms, and other fitness centers. After one month from being in her know that all the staff will remember you by name and always greet you with a smile. It’s a community center made to serve the local community. With the cheapest membership you’ll find in the whole Coachella Valley(20 $) you’ll have access to a huge 3 indoor basketball courts, 2 racquet balls rooms, and a very cozy fitness center with dumbbells that go up to 100lbs and numerous weight machines and cardio stations. It’s not at the level of the corporate level gyms, but still offers everything you need to obtain a elevated level of fitness. One negative is they don’t have barbells and only a smith machine but for only 20 $ a year you can’t beat it. If you’ve seen how fit I am then know that I obtained my body by training here. I’m no bodybuilder, but am extremely athletic and more fit than the average person. I’m humble of course so not trying to showcase my level of fitness but just trying to convey that this gym has me(a avid boxer, and weightlifter extremely happy). They also have a indoor track that goes around the basketball courts which is highly needed in a area like the Coachella Valley that reaches 125º in the summer. So if money is your excuse on why you’re not in the gym then you excuse is unwarranted. Just use EDM(electronic dance music) to help motivate you and make your gym experience fun. Works for me every time. The gym is fun, exciting, and well worth the effort. Much Love & Respect to all who are pursuing their health goals in life. –Charly aka CB
