History

Established in 2005.

I started photographing while I was in high school, nearly 13 years ago. I started professionally in 2005 when a friend referred me to her family member to photograph a wedding! That was the best thing that could have happened and therefore, I made my hobby a flourishing business!

Professional photos are very important to have. I create heirloom images that will last a lifetime and be passed down for generations. My ultimate goal for every photo session is that you look back down the road, days or years, and see those photos and associate them with great feelings! Emotion! Happiness!

A little about me:

*I got married on the beach in Coronado to a pretty awesome guy!

*I was born and raised in Palm Desert. I’ve traveled the US, touring 32 states. I’m afraid of visiting the Northern part of the US because I don’t like to be cold.

*I have dreams of conquering the rest of the world. Place likes Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Fiji… where it’s warm and there’s lots of water!

*I believe in mermaids!

*I love ice cream, spaghetti, pomegranate, and kiwi.

*I’m very understanding and put others’ feelings before my own. That has been found to be a blessing and a curse.

*I absolutely love what I do for a living! I get to see people look their best at the most important times of their lives. It’s happy, crazy, exciting, emotional, sentimental; and I couldn’t ask for anything more!

We are in love with sonia’s work. When my daughter Karly J was born my sister gave her a photo shoot with Sonia, we had the appointment when the baby was 9 days. My husband and I didn’t know what to expect but wooooow! Sonia’s home/​studio was warm and inviting, we felt so comfortable that our baby was comfy her self and we got the most beautiful pictures ever. The baby is 2 months now and I’m still in love with the photos. We actually got another family session with Sonia (with all of our kids) and the pictures came out amazing we can’t wait for our next session with her. Sonia is aaaaaamazing I recommend her to anyone.

Absolutely amazing photographer! I have had pictures done by her for my friends wedding, and then some private ones. So when it came time for my wedding she was the only one I was going to go to. With living in Moreno Valley and her in the palm spring area she made the process so smooth. Our little courthouse wedding and simple dinner with close family and friends became a less of a stress knowing I was going to have pictures. I will be going back to her again for any pictures I need. I also recommended her to everyone who needs photos done.

AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER!!! WOW!!! Desperate for a quick turnaround on new headshots, Sonia was the most expeditious of all the photographers in the Palm Springs, CA area through Unilocal.Through our emails, I instantly had a good rapport with her. When I went to her studio, not only was I impressed by the studio, but by her professional, yet casual demeanor that immediately made me feel comfortable. She printed a B/​w & color copy of my headshots in a little over an hour, and less than 2 hours later I had a digital copy of my headshots! They turned out AMAZINGLY well!!! And she was extremely reasonable!!! I cannot wait to work with her again!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!! AWESOME WORK!!!

I found Sonia Stewart through Google. I did a search for a photographer for my newborn son. After seeing other photographers work and reviews I decided to go with Sonia.
Sonia has a comfortable studio where she has plenty of props for the shoot of your choice. Our shoot lasted about an hour and a half and she took priceless pictures of my fiancé, newborn son and I.
She is very professional and sat down with us as we went over the proofs of what pictures we were going to go with. Sonia gave us a two week ETA and delivered the pictures right on time. I know another new mom who is still waiting for her pictures from a different photographer for over a month now.
If you’re in the Coachella Valley or really anywhere Sonia travels I highly recommend her. We will be using her for more of our family portraits.

If I could honestly give Sonia more stars I would i had my maternity shoot done with her just days before I had my daughter so I was very uncomfortable, but Sonia made me as comfortable as possible me and my boyfriend fell in love with All the poses and photo that were taken. She captures in the pictures everything that wanted and more I’m seriously till this day in love with my maternity pictures.
So being so please in my maternity pictures I went back for my daughters newborn pictures once she was 9 days old not only did Sonia capture moments that weren’t planned or expected perfectly but all the props and poses she had in mind were beautiful and also when my daughter turned 6 months old I has to take her back to Sonia and did the same as she did with my other shoots and delivered awesomeness
I get so many compliments in all the pictures I recommend her so much
I’m hoping to go back soon to take more pictures

Sonia Stewart is an incredibly gifted photographer in Indio, CA who shot my maternity photos on the beach in San Diego. She had many posing ideas, and they were all lovely! She even provided a sheer fabric for me to wear that blew in the breeze that really captured the look I was going for. She also helped me pick out an outfit to wear during the shoot. I sent her pictures with my phone of different options from the dressing room! Lol. She was so helpful and so much fun to work with. I would definitely book with her again!
She also took my little girl’s newborn photos. Sonia was sooo patient! Between the nursing, diaper changes, and meltdowns, I don’t know how she didn’t lose her marbles! She had the sweetest little props and hair bows for my baby to wear! She got some incredibly cute photos! I can’t wait for her first birthday so we can book one of her «cake smash» sessions!

I wish I could give 10 stars! I had a boudoir shoot with Sonia Stewart and let me just say she is EVERYTHING. I did this for my love’s birthday. After being with someone for many, many years you kind of run out of ideas for their birthday present. So I decided I would do this for him because we’re currently living in two different places (temporarily) and it’s been hard. Anyway. I was super nervous, never thought I would be able to do something like this, EVER. But it all went by smoothly, the hair and makeup was perfect! I felt pampered, I felt like a model it was great. When it was all said and done the hardest part wasn’t taking the pictures it was choosing my favorite. Sonia has an amazing eye and talent. She was able to help me see myself in a way I never did before. The body image issues don’t exist any more, I feel beautiful and my love cannot stop looking at the pictures. He is extremely happy and so am I. I know who I am going to call for my next photography needs. Thanks Sonia for an amazing experience. You are awesome! Oh I must say this too, the presentation of the final product was great as well. Talking about going above and beyond my expectations. You Rock!

I don’t even know where to begin as words cannot accurately describe my experience with Sonia Stewart Photography. We live in Arizona but had our wedding in Palm Springs, California which meant that all of my communications with Sonia were via email until our big day. She was so professional and accommodating! The wedding took place at a private estate where Sonia did not hesitate to roll up her sleeves and move around furniture to ensure the best possible photo angles. With only 18 guests, I was worried that the photos would look like a tiny backyard wedding. Sonia did an amazing job of capturing the intimacy, emotions and beauty of the day. She captured so many small moments that would’ve otherwise gone unnoticed. We did have the customary posed photos but the candid ones are some of my favorite. Sonia even made sure to include our dog in the photos to perfectly show our little family. The disk has so many wonderful pictures that it is hard to narrow down which ones to display at home. And the hardcover album is amazing! Sonia did such a phenomenal job, there is not a single thing that I would’ve done differently. You can tell that she truly loves what she does and you can’t put a price on that.
