This has been my favorite pizza place since I was a teenager (35 years). I moved to California but every time I come back to visit my family, I make sure I get to Fanella’s for a pizza and a beer. Fish fry is good too! Friendly staff, family owned. Great atmosphere.

Great food, great people they make you feel like family. Best sausage slammer& the pizza is awesome. We love going Sundays for bloody Mary and football!!!

Ordered two large pizzas and two 2 liters of pop and was over 50 bucks which for a good pizza id pay any day because im a pizza lover, but upon arrival (which was a quick delivery time might I mention) the cheese one was tasty and delicious but I also ordered a Hawaiian and it was like a soup pizza worst I ever had might I mention and leftover even worse had like a bitter barbeque tast that just killed it for me will never order nothing but cheese from this business but who can screw up a cheese pizza so I might not be back

Good pizza, fast service and you can have an a beverage while you pick up your pizza. On the weekends it can get pretty busy the parking lot will be three quarters full or so.

Absolutely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! I ordered a thin crust with pepperoni mushroom sausage and I just gotta say if you want a thin crust, this place is the best. Its super crispy, sauce is amazing and fresh! I definitely will be coming back!

Must be new management. Worst service and food I have ever had there. 1.4 hours for meal and food was not up to par. Will try Orlando’s in Round Lake Beach next time for family dinner of 6 next time.

Awesome pizza, great atmosphere. It’s a nice place to go watch sports on tv because it’s never so crowded that it’s annoying but you can definitely tell that the locals know it’s there. They also deliver!

They have really good deep dish. I’ve been going there for many years just for the deep dish. The thin crust is good too, but we love the deep dish. Deep dish deep dish deep dish!
They have other food too I’m sure.
Oh and when I checked in tonight, Unilocal gave me a coupon for half off an appetizer. Found it last minute. The owner came over and asked about it. He claimed he didn’t know it existed, but he still accepted it. Thanks buddy! We’ll be back.

Recently called to order a pizza and used the delivery menu, on their website, to make my order. After dealing with someone who did not even know what was on their own menu (even if new, wait staff should have it memorized), it seemed slightly high so I called back to have a breakdown of the order given to me – in case there was a mistake. Immediately I got a response that told me the menu on their website was not up to date and that the man on the phone, the owner I believe, was aware of this issue and had done absolutely nothing to fix this problem. And I don’t believe he intends to.
He then proceeded to tell me that he would not honor the prices listed on their website and that prices were «subject to change». Subject to change usually means that next week it might be a little more expensive, not that we won’t honor the prices we show on our online delivery menu on the same day as you order them. It’s not like this menu was in a drawer somewhere.
As a business owner myself, I was completely insulted by the lack of care given to me to fix the situation. If you won’t honor your prices or keep up with them, don’t put a menu online.
No apology was given, only excuses and rude back talking and only when I threatened to cancel my order did he try to give me a «$ 5» incentive. That’s not the same as honoring prices you’ve given to customers on your website THAT DAY. At this point I was done dealing with this person, who seems to care little about customer happiness (especially for a first time customer, which he knew) and so we cancelled our order as it simply wasn’t worth the trouble. Unbelievable.

I love dive bars, we walked in and there was football on one TV, an award show on the other and a smattering of regulars kibitzing around the bar. Some of the regulars used walkers, but it added to the coziness of the place. Best part — it was a cold night (below freezing) and when one of the regulars got her bill, the bartender asked for her keys and went out to warm up her car.
In addition to the great atmosphere, he pizza is fantastic. I was so impressed with the crust, the toppings piled high and real cheese! The beef barley soup was also yummy. This would get four stars but I added a fifth because they have adult root beer on tap! If you have never had it; get there now but be careful because it taste like root beer but gets you drunk like tequila.
Good people, good food and good beer — Hopefully I’m still going here when I am using a walker.

Last weekend we tried the Italian boomer pizza and it was the worst pizza my Italian husband ever had… The green peppers were sickening sweet. To think we spend over $ 25 dollars for the poor excuse for a pizza… had a frozen store bought pizza tonight for $ 5 that was 10 times better.

Went for ½ price pizza today. Pizza was just ok not great by any means. When we got the bill I was told it was only ½ price off cheese only not for toppings. I ask to see the manager to see why the sign was wrong but he came out like a prick with an Attitude. I will not go back. Much better pizza a block away at rookies!!! And it is ½ price on Tuesday and Thursday

This used to be my favorite pizza place in Lake County. We would order it as a family at least once a month, probably even more often. We’d always get it as a carry out, not because the place is a bit of a dive but because we just like to eat at home.
On a recent trip, I decided to take my two daughters to dine in. The pizza is truly to die for, and the kids like to dine in restaurants. Well, this was a huge mistake. First of all our server was a bit of a snot. That’s me being nice. She was aloof, disinterested, and bordered on rude. When my 9 year old didn’t like her chicken strips (they were quite nasty), she didn’t say a thing. When I got the bill and saw that the chicken strips (that weren’t eaten, remember) were charged more on the bill than what the menu said, the server stomped over to the menus, brought one over, and rudely pointed out on the menu where it said prices can change without notice. When I asked to talk to the manager, he REFUSED to come out and talk to me. The server actually tossed a single dollar bill on the table and told me the manager told her to give that to me.
A DOLLAR. Are you effing kidding me?
This happened more than a month ago. We have not ordered since, and we probably won’t. If this is how they treat their very frequent customers (they call me by name, mind you… because I pick up food so often) then they can kiss my butt. I will miss the pizza, for sure. But no pizza is worth being treated like shiz.

Great pizza and sandwiches. Fast delivery. Prices fair. We always get delivery or pick up. Restaurant itself is a dive but the food is great.

Amazing pizza, end of story!

I stopped here with my lady for a pizza after a movie on Saturday night. I’d read other reviews, and I’ve driven past this place hundreds of times, so I finally let curiosity get the best of me.
One of my favorite things is discovering hidden gems out here in the boondocks, and I’ll be the first to admit that I may have set my expectations too high.
The atmosphere was exactly in line with what I was hoping for. Threadbare, dim and just a bit too dank, Fanella’s is weathered in a way that makes me comfortable. Inside there’s a half-​and-​half split between bar and restaurant. In the restaurant portion, there was an open mic music night going on, which is something I thoroughly enjoy.
The food, on the other hand was nothing special. I ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza, because I’ve heard others rave about the sausage. It tasted very bland, and the crust was about the same as a Tombstone. I desperately wanted to like this pizza, but I’ve had much better elsewhere in the area. Maybe I’ll go back and try the cracker thin crust; it might make the difference.
I would definitely go back to this place just to have a few beers, throw some darts and hang out with friends. But ultimately, not for the pizza.

I grew up in Long Lake (right down the street from Fanella’s) and now reside in LA — can’t find anything like it out here. Everytime I’m back home to visit family and friends, I always stop at Fanella’s for the basic thin crust cheese & sausage pizza and pitchers of beer! Love it there!

I’d give it five stars, but I’ve never had anything there but the pizza. They have thin, thick & cracker (supper thin) crusts. Warning, do not try to order to many toppings on the cracker crust. It turned out to be a huge soggy mess, they tried to warn me. Thier delivery guys are very fast! Love that. Thursday is ½$ pizza, very busy.
