RaaaaaaaaaaaaatCHET!!! And that is to say the least… I used to come here to get my hair done, but Mary kept combining all of my dreads; making them heavier and heavier as my roots thinned out. I stopped going to her and let a classmate do my hair for awhile… I got tired of driving all the way to Venice though and decided to try Mary again. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings so I told her that I hadn’t got my hair done since I saw her last… SHESSH! Oh Boy was that a mistake! She spent the whole hair session telling me how I don’t take care of my hair (Like no lady I just don’t let YOU take care of my hair) and getting the other hair stylist to jump in. I was ready to get up half way through the session, but had a Vegas trip upcoming so I stuck it out. They spent the whole time arguing with me about my hair, trying to convince that my hair is shit… like how about you win and I never come back? I now go to Carson and pay double the amount, but it’s so professional and she does such a nice a job it reminded of my ratchet experiences at Château. Free at last, free at last, thank Jah almighty, my dreads are free at last! lol

There are few people you can trust ur hair to. Renita is amazing when it come to styling. She is very creative and easy to get ideas from. I LOVE LOVE her and she will DEFINITELY be traveling as my stylist when I’m a celebrity. She started off as my beautician and has become family!

So today is my best friends birthday and we didn’t know of a salon in the area that we could go to! Her cousin called and recommended the place to us and here we are! When we got here it was kinda empty considering it was so early! The stylist are very nice and welcoming! It reminds me of old black salons from back in the day! I would totally recommend this spot to everyone looking to get styled up wether on the spot or for a later occasion! I will definitely be coming back to this shop!

If you need a weave, I recommend Darlene. She knows how to get the job done. I been going to her for 3 years now. She’s fast, she’s hilarious, and my weaves are always on point when I leave. Stop by, call, and make your appointment with Darlene!

I’ve been coming here since I was 16yrs old (I’m 35). Tony is my stylist. Very friendly place. The atmosphere has changed over the years, but the stylist and work that is being done at this salon is still great.

Worst Customer Service Ever I walked in to see how much there high lights are and the woman that sits to the Right as soon as you walk in was Rude as can be. I never met a Rude human being till I met her. I asked the gentlemen wearing dreads how much would highlight be? He directed me to ask her she laughed and said come on now you Know I don’t Do Nothing on that type of Hair!!! I was in shock! I could not believe what she had just said the gentlemen turns to me and says, 70 $. Horrible just horrible I couldn’t believe a Woman in this day and age would speak in such a way towards a potential customer. It’s quite sad but I guess in her defense ignorance is bliss. I have tons of African American friends my boyfriend is African American I guess she couldnt have known I was a blogger I will definitely be putting this on my Blog. Never the less I would Never send any of my friends here.

I love it here! My sister in law referred me here when I assure that my hair looked super pretty for my birthday. She referred me specifically to Shenithea and she did a fantastic job! My hair looked beautiful, I was snappin self photos like crazy and I made sure to get a card so that I could call her any time I needed my hair done or even to refer other people.
She washed my hair thoroughly and did treatment for my dry scalp. She was very personable and we engaged in mutual conversation the majority of the time. She’s very timely, and she custom makes wigs! I don’t wear wigs but I think that’s pretty amazing. She will size your head and then make you a wig in your desired style. Amazing!!!
Also important, with her — its easy on the wallet to be easy on the eyes!

Great experience here. I grew out my relaxer and get my hair pressed here every 2 weeks by Cathee. Great prices, and I’m always pleased with the results. I am in and out within 2 hours each time.

Finding a great stylist for our kind of hair is always challenging especially when you don’t have the money to pay for a celebrity stylist.
My co-​worker always looked great and I got the impression that she also really liked her stylist, so I decided to check it out.
I see Veronika and she really sort of got me and my style without me having to explain too much.
My weaves always look amazing when I leave the shop.
A plus-​I don’t know if this is a black hair shop thing, but there are always vendors wandering into the shop. You can get just about everything from jewelry to makeup to meat. I kid you not.
