Great fast and affordable service. I went there to get my brakes done and a few weeks later I had them change the oil on my pickup. I will definitely be going back for any of my automotive repair needs. I highly recommend them.

The most honest mechanic I know. This is a family run business, and they treat their customers like family. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality or service.

What a rip off. I called a couple days ago and asked how much it would be to change the front struts on my car and he quoted me $ 320 out the door, after tax and labor. I was sitting there thinking its a pretty good deal since it’s the lowest price I have been quoted so far.
Then I call back today to ask if the price included changing the strut mounts too and he ends up saying it’s going to be $ 600+!! I told him he just quoted me $ 320 just a couple of days ago for just changing the struts so you’re telling me the mounts will be an extra $ 300? Yeah right. On top of that, he says he NEVER quoted me $ 320 in the first place. What a joke.
Do not come here. He’ll just change the price quote at any time and claim he never gave you the original quote in the first place. Bad business.

My Nissan Maxima is 10 years old. It has over 145 000 miles on it and it’ll probably be good for another ten years because of Kim’s Auto Service. Every time my car had troubles, I’d bring it to Kim! Even for simple smog checks! I trust him more than then any dealership! Not only is he the most honest person, but he is straight up with you and let’s you know what you need and what you don’t need. His shop is busy and that only means that there are many others who feel the way I do. I have recommended him to friends and all have agreed that KIM IS THE BEST!

So I payed $ 300 at this place just for my car to die again the next day on the side of the road. They said it was just the battery that needed replacing but apparently not. Very angry and unsatisfied customer!

RIP OFF ALERT!
My car overheated on the 405 this was the closest place with good reviews, Went in and owner explained that it would be $ 85 just to check it and see what the problem was. Said it would take about an hour. Being in my situation far from home I decided to let him check hoping he would be able to help.
Two hours later owner came up and said that I had water in my engine and that it needed a new engine and it would be about $ 1800 he said my car was not drivable and i should leave
father warned me about greasy mechanics like
he was rude and said if I wanted it fixed it would be about a two week job. I knew it was not the engine being that I immediately pulled over as soon as the car over heated and did not drive it while hot. I paid the man his $ 85 dollars that he is so desperate for and left.
Turns out the problem is a simple fix bad thermostat and
wanted to take advantage of someone that wasn’t so knowledgeable. I do not recommend this place at all thank goodness for women’s intuition!

Facts:
you will be charged $ 85 upon arrival just for checking your car. The $ 85 goes towards the total bill if you decide to fix.
We went in our car was over heating we were greeted and advised about the $ 85. We specifically told him it was the thermostat… He insisted he checked. NOT to my surprise in a very condescending manner the owner turns to tell me I need a new engine and the $ 85 will go to my head gasket a $ 1800 job!!!
I let the THIEF! Take my $ 85 went elsewhere… My thermostat was changed, my car runs perfect now all for under $ 50.
This guy is a THIEF, I confronted his workers on this in Spanish, they went on to tell me to that this is a common tactic used by this owner, that they couldn’t do anything about it.
It’s easy to trust a «oil change» if you need anything other than that done to your vehicle BEWARE!!!

This man and his wonderful employees make sure my mom is safe as she commutes through Los Angeles in an older model car.
Kim is great for advice on everything maintenance related — and will always honestly let you know when something needs to be repaired or updated, or when a part still has some life left.

My registration was past due and I needed to get new CA plates. The service was fast and the wait was minimal. I was in and out of there in under 15 minutes! So happy I was able to get this done on my lunch break.

Been having issues with my car not passing smog at two different places. Came here and it passed! And was able to get oil change and tire rotation done at the same time. Quick and efficient, I’d totally recommend the place.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. EXTREMELY RUDE on the phone. Quoted me $ 175 more for the same service as All Right Automotive down the street. Would never, ever go back or recommend. Do yourself a favor, drive down the street and support an auto shop that values their customers and knows the importance of good customer service.

I needed a smog check in order to renew my tags and I was looking for someplace quick, cheap and close to work. Kim’s Auto met and over exceeded all my expectations!
Proximity to work doesn’t really help anyone else, unless they work in my building. But as anyone who has tried to run an errand during lunch can tell you, speed is of the utmost importance. I arrived at 1:45pm and I was back on the road by 2:05. And the cost was under $ 50!
Next time I have any car problems, I will definitely come back!

For the 7 years I lived in Los Angeles, I trusted my vehicles’ maintenance needs to Kim’s Auto Service. I happened upon this place before I even knew whay Unilocal was. I was a new resident to Southern California and was in «sticker shock» at how expensive it was to live here compared to New Orleans. But L.A. is big, and without a car, getting around is not only challenging, but it can be down right impossible. So having a reliable form of transportation is critical, and Kim’s Auto can definitely assure you that your vehicle remains reliable.
Living in El Segundo, I often frequented the LAX /​Westchester area and happened to drive right by this place. I needed an oil change and dropped in. Mr. Kim gave me a very reasonable quote, took my car within 30 minutes and had me back on the road shortly thereafter. As I watched his mechanic work on my car, it was comforting to see him taking the time to be neat about his work. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ridden in people’s cars that smelled like burning oil, and their response was that they just had their oil changed and the mechanic must have spilled some on the engine and it was just «burning off». This type of shoddy work is not tolerated at Kim’s Auto as his mechanics take pride in their work.
I’ve also had brake jobs (front & rear) on multiple vehicles and Kim’s rate was less expensive than most. He used quality pads and even turns (resurfaces) his own rotors on site.
Other services I have contracted include radiator flushes, rear end differential fluid changes and a quickly diagnosed electrical issue. Not once have I been led astray by Mr. Kim or felt that I paid too much for a repair or preventive maintenance issue. It’s difficult to find an honest mechanic; especially one that has such reasonable rates. So if you are need in of a repair or smog inspection, put your faith in Mr. Kim and he will not steer you wrong.

Literally they are right at the corner of Manchester and Florence. I had to bring my SUV in for a smog and Kim was not busy. I called beforehand and while somewhat terse he did tell me that he wasnt busy at 11:30am should I decide to stop in.
In less than 10 minutes my car was being checked. In about 20 more minutes I was done. $ 48 with the certificate… the going average. He got the job done so I cannot complain. He was matter of fact but still professional For his quickness I will return with my other car for a smog in a month.

I am impressed with this place! I got an oil change and smog check, which was done in an hour and a half. Reasonable prices as well.

As a business owner myself I never hesitate to take any of my personal vehicles or work trucks to Kim. I always know it will be fixed correctly and I won’t be taken advantage of. I would highly recommend him

I am so impressed with Mr. Kim and his employees. I am fairly new to LA and I did not know of a good mechanic. Let’s face it; it’s extremely difficult to find a mechanic that you can trust. I read the « Unilocal» reviews and called Mr. Kim; I got a very good feeling about him immediately; when you know you know.
I took my car in and he literally showed me what was wrong and gave me very reasonable prices. I had a radiator problem, which was under warranty at a big chain repair company; I took it back to them and they replaces it; however they also told me I needed A, B, and C done, which was going to coast me a lot of money.
I called Mr. Kim and told him everything; he explained in detail that I did not need to do ONE of those things on their list, which saved me $ 100! I also, had to repair a problem so that my car could pass a «smog test». Mr. Kim fixed the problem for a very, very fare price, and my car passed.
I’ve been taking my car to Mr. Kim ever since, and for the first time, in a long time, I feel that my car runs strong and «solid»

Kims auto is the best. He always has the lowest quotes around hands down. But that doesnt mean the quality is poor! He always has my car ready in time and sometimes even does other little things to it for free.
My friends catalytic converter got stolen and when he took his car to Kims, not only did he put in a new one for a good price but he also soldered it for free so it wouldn’t get stolen again!
He is a quality mechanic for great prices, and above all he’s a great person.
Highly recommended!
