LAX Shuttle and Limo

I decided to try using LAX Shuttle and Limo as a way to get to the airport from Burbank. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I do so.
I booked the night before and the next morning, the car arrived 30 minutes before the requested time — okay, fine. As we got onto the freeway, we were greeted with the typical LA-​parking lot style traffic and the driver didn’t seem to be fazed. About 20 – 30 minutes later, we came across a traffic sign indicating it would be ~35 minutes to get to downtown. Then, the driver became worried… because he felt he was going to be late for his next pickup. He then proceeded to tell me that he was going to try to find another car to pick me up (while I was already in the car) and take me to the airport. Unfortunately, as the passenger, I didn’t really have much control (not being at the wheel).
The driver detoured from the freeway and headed towards Los Feliz and eventually to Koreatown where he gave me the name and phone number of the ‘substitute’ driver. He said that the substitute driver would be there shortly, but I insisted that we at least wait until the other vehicle arrived so that I wasn’t completely stranded (mind you, this was an hour from when we had departed and had we stayed on the freeway, we’d probably be well on our way to LAX). Fortunately, the other car came — though not a town car, but the personal car of the original driver’s brother. Without alternatives, I boarded the substitute vehicle and was on my way to LAX.
While I did arrive at LAX about 30 minutes later, my journey to the airport was certainly not a smooth ride and the original driver certainly did not provide a sense of reliability. Had I known this whole escapade would have occurred, I would have stuck to a taxi.

I have used this company various times over the years, it used to be better. I miss the driver named David. We would talk about Iran and politics.
Maybe it is the rise in gas prices but wowza it has gone up in fees. They do accept cc and tend to get you to the airport quickly.
They are always on time for picking you up from home. I have had a few snafus when they picked me up from the airport, including once they forgot about me even though I had prepaid.
But, if your time is precious they are much better than a shared ride van that picks you up hours before you really need to leave.
