The salon is really nice and my hair was washed and pressed pretty good. However, that is about the only good I can say. I was expecting to have my appointment start on time… NOT! I only had to wait about 15 minutes which isn’t a big deal. BUT based on her reviews on StyleSeat, they all said how she was on time and very professional. Instead, she was doing individual braids on someone when I got there and when I said that I had an appointment with her she let out a huge sigh, rolled her eyes, and said «I’ll be with you in a minute», like she was annoyed that I showed up. Once she started she was very nice while working with me. Now, here is my REAL concern. I was in the salon longer than the quoted 2 hours and had to put more money in the meter (no free parking anywhere on Marker Street) and when finished, her booking company automatically applied a $ 16 tip!!! Are they crazy!!! Don’t get me wrong… I believe in tipping for a service and extra tipping for exceptional service. But $ 16 for a regular hairstyle that took longer than quoted AND you weren’t on time… PLEEZE!!! Luckily I was able to go back and adjust it. A lot of my concerns may not be of concern or a big deal to a lot of you. However, I’ve been on the hunt for a new stylist for over a year and have yet to find someone who meets my needs or standards. This review is not to bash anyone and discourage you from going. Your experience may be better than mine. This is just to let you know that I wasn’t impressed and still looking for MY perfect stylist.

I went to Ty to get a full weave and I LOVE MY HAIR! A big bonus is she as on time for my 7 a.m. Appointment and I was not in the shop all day. I truly appreciate how Ty values her client’s time. I have been getting my hair done by other stylists for years and she has been the most professional all around! Make an appointment with Ty TODAY!
