Universal Eye Care Optometry

I came here in October and had issue’s with my prescription the Dr said my eye’s must of changed since my visit !(really a week later) The Doctor and the Receptionist both need to learn how to talk and deal with ppl… They are unprofessional! So I went to complete eye care and they gave me a free eye exam yes I said FREE and got 3 pairs of glasses with progressive lens and one transitions all for $ 220 they felt bad about my experience at Universal eye care! They also informed me that the Eye Doctor is supposed to redo the eye exam for FREE with in 30 day’s of the eye exam… instead I got a free attitudes, I thought the costumer was always right! I’m also going to call the BBB and national eye association, they did the wrong American Indian!!! All I wanted was to be treated fair!!!

Terrible — the receptionist had the worst attitude. I just asked her if she accepted a particular insurance. She gave a snooty remark and had the audacity to elaborate. All she had to say was no. I went to another location near Fridays. The receptionist said many doctors do not accept my insurance but I could call the carrier to see who accepts in the area. He was pleasant even with a long line of customers. Universal, on the other hand, was empty. I see why. I looked forward to supporting local business but her attitude was so bad I ended up walking out. The one star rating is simply for being local.
BTW when I contacted my insurance I found out that they provide reimbursement to out of network providers at the same rate as in network. If she checked for me, like I asked, she could have won a customer. I ended up going back to my eye doctor in Northridge who came in an hour early to accommodate me last minute and gave me a discount — this is customer service.

They did not have the glasses that i tried on in black, only brown. I ordered the glasses in black and the glasses I received were not the same ones I ordered and look as if they came from the dollar store, only cheaper. The prescription was all off as well. I can’t wear my glasses for more than an hour without getting a headache so I only wear them to drive. It’s been two weeks and I should have adjusted to them by now. I’m trying to get them to at least fix my prescription, but we’ll see. I paid $ 89 dollars for some. $ 1.00 frames that I can’t even wear. Never again! I’m in the process of filling a complaint with my insurance company to see what they can do. I should have known that they were bad, because they had too many open appointments.

I will not be returning here! Customer service has completely gone down the drain! So I came here for my eye exam but opted to order contacts from another vendor for a more affordable price. Seriously, GO TO COSTCO FOLKS!!! They’re cheaper and offer better customer service. Anywho, after my eye appt, I was offered a sample pair of contacts by the condescending receptionist. I passed at the time since I still had 3 boxes of unused contacts. So fastforward to a few months later, I realized that I was on my last pair of contacts so I came back to Universal to request a sample to last me until my order arrived. The receptionist goes on to tell me that I need to get a sample pair from whomever I decided to order with also stating that she had no way of verifying that I turned down the sample when it was initially offered to me basically accusing me of lying. She made no effort to rectify the situation; she offered no resolution; she offered no negotiation; she had a very lackadaisical «that’s not my problem» type of attutude. Mind you. even if she was unable to accommodate me, as a professional it’s her job to at least pretend to care and/​or offer some form of compromise or concern. Instead, she was flat out rude! If they offered good prices on contacts I would’ve had no problem purchasing with them but that’s not even the point. I did indeed pay to have my eye examination there and that includes sample lenses
Just a few words of advice:
1. Notate on customer’s account whether or not sample lens were accepted or declined; very simple!
2. Offer customers competitive prices on contact lens so they won’t have to order from elsewhere
3. Try showing concern for your customers needs. You are there to service the customer and the customers are the ones who keep you in business. Treat them right and they will become loyal customers and bring new clientele with them
4. Give the customer the benefit of the doubt, always try to accommodate them if at all possible
5. Be polite and courteous to the customer. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it

I give this business an negative 0. After my eye exam and after I paif dor my glasses I was told that it would take four days for my glasses to arrive. it’s been three weeks. Four days ago I was told that they would be in in a couple of days. I called today and still no glasses. The front desk receptionist was very nonchalant and unconcerned with the fact that my glasses had not come in. This is by far the worst business I ever patronized. I will never and I mean NEVER go there again.

No Stars at all –0 if you ask me I have been there on two appointment the first one I was no impress but the second one was the one that made me realized that this place should really be out of business so I get there with my daughter for her appointment remind you she is only 8years old I have my husband with me and my 4 year old and she was so excited to go in the room with her big sister and mommy so we get into the room the doctor turn off the lights and my 4 year old says mom look at the letters and the same time the doctor was starting to talk to me and then the doctor looked at me and said to me your daughter can wait outside because I am not going to compete with her I looked at him and said no I don’t think so my daughter will stay rite here with me I was so upset and I will never ever ever go back there again how can you work with children and you have no patient SMH I would never support another run down so call business like this again it was recommended to me by my sister and after I had my experience she had a dose herself you lost two costumers in less than a week.
