Established in 2013.

Elegance and Edge Hair Studio was established in October 2013 by long-​time Citrus County resident, Crystal Dawn Gaines. Having been around the industry for most of her life and working for other salon owners for three years, Crystal was excited to have the opportunity to open and run her own salon.

Elegance and Edge is part of Salon Suites by Underwood, which allows for privacy and relaxation during your appointment.

Business Owner

I’ve been doing hair professionally for three years, but I’ve actually been in the beauty industry for most of my life. I am a second generation hairstylist and being around it so much growing up, it was never really an interest of mine. Then in 2007 I decided I wanted to learn makeup and skincare, so I went to school for aesthetics. Shortly after I graduated I started doing makeup for formal occasions, and friends would ask me for updos as well. After a few times of not really knowing what I was doing and fighting to make it work I thought, «Man, wouldn’t it be nice if I actually knew how to do this?» That’s when I chose to enroll in school for cosmetology and I haven’t looked back.

Since then my mild in hair turned into a passion, and I truly love what I do. The most rewarding experience in the world is when a client is really excited about the new look or style you gave them. My goal with every client is to achieve that delight and I work with each and every client until I do.
