Had brisquit and a salad. The salad was a nice axe and the dressing was great. Followed it up with the brisquit dinner and it was as good as it gets! Will be back for more I promise!!!

Went there today for the holiday lunch with my colleagues. The restaurant is very good at accommodating large groups. We had 14 people with us today. They are very attentive in taking our drink orders, appetizer orders and entrée orders. Since we had so many people, my boss asked the servers for recommendations on how many orders of appetizers we should get. And man, they were so good at their estimates. We all had the right amt of the appetizers. I was really impressed by that. For starters we had spinach artichoke dip and black bean hummus. The dip came in a cast iron pan with some bread. It’s just alright. But I love the black bean hummus. Good flavor, not too salty, and goes well with the carrots and cucumbers. I have always tried the buffalo chicken wrap. But today I decided to try sth new — Greek burrito with salmon. It comes with lettuce, olive, cucumber, tomato and feta cheese. The cheese is on the side, which is good if you are trying to cut down your dairy consumption. The salmon in the wrapped was well seasoned also– but not too salty– which is good. And the natural flavor from the vegetables goes well with the seasoned salmon. I really hoped that they can wrap the burrito better tho. One half of mine were falling apart even before I start eating it. And I wish they can cut the olive into smaller pieces(they literally put two huge olives in the wrap). It has always been nice to dine here… and I’m glad that I found sth I like from their menu this time. :)

After so much Hype we finally HAD to try Atlas. The buffalo chicken burrito lacked taste! I could barely tell it had buffalo sauce on it. My kids split the chicken strips, which were WAY over cooked! Sad to say this establishment would serve overcooked chicken to a table. It was not good. Not hurrying back.

not bad for an «upscale» establishment in IC. 5 stars for service, 4 for ambiance, and 3 for food. every time that i have eaten here, the service has been wonderful. dunno if i just happen to come at the right time or whatever, but never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. the servers are friendly and unobtrusive. like their overall vibe and décor– the refresh from a couple months ago is nice. not sure if i like the new metal chairs though. lights are dimmed during dinner service, but sometimes i find that it is a bit too dim. when it gets busy, the noise level goes up a bit due to the small(not crowded though) seating area. onto the most important: the food. overall, i like their menu. there is something for everyone. to call themselves a world grill, however is a bit of a stretch. food is inconsistent. sometimes it is great, other times the food is either a bit under-seasoned or cooked to a wrong doneness(once i ordered medium rare steak, but the steak that was fired out for me was practically well done… not sure though because the lights were too dim ha). they brought out another steak and was given a crème brûlée on the house(impeccable service!) side note: bring back the special menu please!

I am an Iowa grad and was back for the holidays. I was in Iowa City for the day shopping and wanted to eat a healthy and delicious lunch. I remembered how much I loved the Atlas when I was a student there a few years ago. To no surprise, it’s still amazing :) We had the Barrata as the appetizer, and I had the buffalo chicken salad. Both absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend them. I also tried the special, the Stuffing Burrito, and it was quite tasty, as well as their Tomato Bisque soup, which is precisely how I remembered it. I definitely recommend the Atlas for lunch or dinner, and they also have a great selection of beers, and other drinks, and it’s in the middle of the action in the lovely downtown Iowa City!

I would give Atlas a five, but we just stopped in for drinks and a snack after the Hawkeye game last weekend so I can’t speak for their food. I got the smoky Bloody Mary and it was delicious. It also came with a generous beer chaser, which I love. The bar has a good selection of craft beers and whiskeys. My husband had one of their beers end enjoyed it. We ordered the truffle fries from the happy hour food menu and they were delicious. The truffle is in the cheese sauce the fries come with and it was delightful. I wanted to take a spoon and finish it off after we ran out of fries. Our bartender was very attentive and interesting to talk to as well. Overall, we had a great experience at Atlas and now want to come back another time for a full meal.

Buffalo chicken burritos… That is all. Absolutely splendid… I thought eating buffalo wings and mashed potatoes were amazing, but wrapping them up in a burrito makes it even more delicious. Also, the Mac and Cheese is the best in town! I love this place! One star off for service, but I think it was server-dependent, because the service at other tables seemed top notch.

Atlas is a five star establishment for their service, quality of food, unique and fresh ideas for entrees, service and ambience. What is there not to love about this place?! I highly recommend that you come out to try one of their amazing entrees. It’s difficult to find another restaurant equals the level of quality and service you will experience at Atlas. Everyone here from the owners, managers, chefs, and service staff do an amazing job of taking special care of each of their customers. I have dined here many times and never experienced anything but their best!

Atlas is a lovely spot for an occasional indulgence. The food is fantastic and fresh, and the staff and décor are 4⁄5 stars, but it is on the pricey end and not the most convenient location.(Unless you walk or luck out with a nearby street spot.) There are two public parking garages within 4 or 5 blocks, so it’s not a bad walk, it’s just a matter of fighting the student crowds. Now on to the food! The Mac & Cheese is just the right amount of a gourmet twist on a classic and the champagne vinaigrette is an ideal salad dressing for the fresh greens. I’ve also tried the Buffalo Chicken Burrito(wrap) and it’s delicious too, but a bit too heavy for me with the mashed potatoes and piled high onion rings. The patio looks like it offers some prime people-watching and it would be the perfect spot for a dinner date or lazy brunch with the girls. I look forward to my next«occasional indulgence»!

Just moved to IC from Chicago this summer and really enjoyed the outdoor patio at Atlas. The veggie burrito with chicken was good, but the service was sub par. Not only was it slow, but the waiter lied rather than admit he forgot to put something in to the kitchen. Regardless, I’d go back again.

This place is divine! Yes, it is pricey, so this is not an everyday spot. But every once in a while, we all deserve a treat. And, Atlas is certainly a treat. For starters, enjoy the tuna crisps. Crispy wontons, rare ahi, and a delicious sauce. Beautifully plated to appeal to your eyes as well as your tastebuds. I ordered the Atlantic salmon, which was incredible. Perfectly cooked with veggies. I loved it. Hubby made the only mistake, he ordered the buffalo chicken burrito, only to discover is was some New Age affront to his Texas senses. Honestly, if you are Hispanic — like we are — the whole burrito label will confuse you. These are are not burritos as we know them, so his disappointment was to be expected. The service was great and the wine selection was very good. All in all a very good date night!

The food is for sure over-priced. Paid way more for a steak and fries that really isn’t that great, but I can get a way juicier steak and 2 sides for $ 15 at Texas roadhouse instead of $ 32 at Atlas. Our server forgot our beer and got it finally after 20 minutes. She took it off our bill which was nice though. I ordered my burger medium and my boyfriend ordered his steak medium well. Our meat came out opposites, but we didn’t say anything. Their truffle fries were pretty good though. Overall, we wouldn’t go there again. Decent food, limited menu, over priced, and seems like there are no adults running the place.

I love atlas and their food… However, every time I go, the wait time is over 40 min. Just a few weeks ago, my friends and I were seated around 6PM and ended up leaving at 9:30pm due to the slow service. If you don’t mind the wait time, I would recommend this place.

DONOTGETTHELEMONHERBCHICKEN — was extremely lack luster in taste, they should remove this off the menu. Everyone else’s meals were amazing though that I got to try!

Went here to eat the first time in July. The portions were huge and the food was so fresh! The dinner menu looks a little on the high side for a place like Iowa City, but the lunch black bean hummus and peanut satay wrap were absolutely delicious!!! We sat outside and enjoyed the people watching of this busy, college town.

I don’t recall what brought us here the first time, but I do know that their amazing food is what always brings us back. Since we do not live in the area, we haven’t given other places a try, as we always want to dine here. We have tried their variety of salads and burritos and there isn’t one we do not like. We have also tried some random specials of the day and their soups are fab too! What is a DEFINITE must, no matter the time of the day, no matter how full you are, YOUMUSTHAVETHEIRCHOCOLATECAKE! Don’t fool yourselves and try to split one, it just won’t do. You must have it all to yourself. Enjoy!

My friend brought me to Atlas when I visited her in Iowa City last week. I was really impressed with the diverse menu and the bold flavors. My friend and I shared the Thai Chicken Satay salad and the Veg Heaven burrito. The salad was huge and full of fresh mixed greens and rice noodles. Although, it could have had a bit more dressing. The peanut sauce on top of the chicken was perfect. What really blew me away was how flavorful and yummy the burrito was — packed with grilled veggies, couscous, house-made pesto, and the creamiest, most delicious goat cheese I’ve ever had. I took off 1 star because of the bitchy waitress we had but otherwise, the food is definitely worth five stars.
