Linder Tire Service

I’m a regular customer of Linder Tire on Riverside Drive in Iowa City. They’re always fair and honest with their service and recommendations. They will tell me and/​or show me what they think could be replaced, but are honest in saying I could probably wait for X amount of months or so. I’ve also asked for courtesy drop-​offs/​pick-​ups to and from work when I don’t have time to wait for my car and the courtesy driver (I wish I could remember his name — he always works in the front) is really kind. The only thing they could do to make my experience better is provide it for free, but that’s not possible, so five stars it is! I saw the comment on the TV in the waiting area, and yes, that could make it better but usually waiting room TVs have programming I don’t care about on anyway and most of the population has phones to keep themselves entertained. Plus, they’re super fast at Linder, so you won’t sit for long. Brueggers Bagels is across the street if you need a snack or coffee too.

Went there without an appointment for a sudden flat tire and they were immediately able to help, even though they were obviously pretty busy. My three year old was very cranky the entire time as well and none of the employees batted an eye. They were very kind and helpful and got us on our way in no time, despite us even having forgotten our lug nut key. I would definitely recommend.

I went here because they had good reviews when I did my search. They were also very courteous on the phone as well as in person, and gave me several options for tires to get on my Jetta. The service was fast or a tire place, and their prices were in line and just a bit below other dealers. They seemed to give honest reviews of the tires available as well. No one likes to pay for tires, but if we must, at least it can be a decent experience. They were honest in their recommendations for my vehicle, as I really did need to buy a 3^rd tire at least, but were not pushy and didn’t try to hassle me into a set or something I didn’t want, or push me into other services (I hate it when dropping $ 300 or more just doesn’t seem to be enough!) I will go back to Linder again. I don’t recall a TV being in the waiting room, as I used Netflix for my son. That could have bought a 5^th star in my book.

I went to Linder Tire to have the brakes checked on my SUV with 52,000 miles on it as the brakes were squealing. I was impressed when the mechanic came out and told me that the brake pads had only minimal wear. I thanked Linder Tire for their honesty. I will certainly return there when my car needs service.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience at our Iowa City store.
I know that they have been extremely busy with the winter season and have actually been starting at 7 AM rather than the normal 7:30. We stopped taking new jobs today because we feared that we could not get it all done.
Having said that there is no excuse for not communicating effectively with our customers. I apologize. We should have greeted you and explained the situation as best as possible and set up another appointment.

Below is my original review.
I had a flat, actually it’s my first flat ever. So I filled my tire up with air and drove it to the nearest Linder, which was on riverside Dr, really close to where I live. I see their ads on TV all the time. As it was my first flat, I didn’t know you had to make appointments to fix a a flat. So I walked right in. The guy behind the counter didn’t greet me or anything and when told him that I had a flat and my car was outside, he just asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, so he actually said «We can’t do it then». He didn’t even ask me if I wanted to make an appointment and had this blank stare on his face. I guess its the law that you need an appointment to fix a flat! I was expecting a little better service. I had to ask him when the earliest he could get it in was, and he didn’t even check his computer or anything and said maybe Wednesday. Still no indication of wanting any business! I mean come on, this is what you do… fix flats and change tires. So I thanked him and drove to the Goodyear close to Gilbert street. Don’t think I ever want to go that Linder again.
