History

Established in 2015.

Vickie Brandenburg, along with her husband Cory, opened Lionheart in 2015. Vickie was a preschool teacher for five years before becoming a Director for a child care center in Dubuque. The company grew over the years to four centers and Vickie became the Executive Director. In 2015, Vickie decided to pursue an opportunity to own her own center. The Brandenburg’s decided it was time for Cory to leave his job of 23 years to assist Vickie in opening and later managing Lionheart.

Lionheart is located at 2717 Northgate Drive which was formally Creative World. Lionheart was designed and built in the late 1980’s as a child care center. It operated as such until 2013. It was updated in 2015 to once again be a child care center.

Business Owner

Vickie Brandenburg holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Unified Degree in Prekindergarten and Special Education. She also holds a National Administrator Credential and is a member of the National Association of the Education of Young Children and the Association of Early Learning Leaders. In 2015, Vickie was invited to become a validator for the National Accreditation Commission. Vickie has over 19 years of early childhood management experience. Most recently she has been the Executive Director of four child care centers located in eastern Iowa.
