Established in 1896.

Our founder, Samuel W. Mercer, purchased the Iowa State Press in 1895. Since that time, the ownership and management of Tru Art has remained in the family with the fourth and fifth generations currently involved. Tru Art has a long, rich history of service and innovation that continues to drive the company. Traditional craftsmanship and modern technology have teamed to become keystones in our path to the future.

Meet the Business Owner

David B.

Business Owner

David is a 5^th generation owner of Tru Art Color Graphics. He began working for the company in his early teens in the loading dock and warehouse area. David received his education at Kansas University, and spent three years working in Kansas City for Deloitte and Touché as a licensed CPA. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry and Goodwill of the Heartland.

David has a true passion for the printing and promotional industry and dedicates his time learning about the latest in printing and marketing trends. He enjoys leading a team of dedicated professionals and doing everything he can to make the client’s experience working with Tru Art enjoyable and seamless. David appreciates the long-​term and strong relationships we have with our many loyal clients, and he is invigorated when Tru Art has the opportunity to gain a new one.
