On a Sunday call for bee treatment’ call for inspection for one of the Rental properties, came and gave estimate said need to remove title on roof to spray because of Bee and lots of work was needed… the price quote was very high so look on Unilocal for other company and found a more reasonable company. The inspector was not very professional, when we opt to find another company to compare pricing he ripe up the quote that he gave us, so we decided not to deal with this company again.

I called action bee removal when we discovered a lot of bees in an area we are doing construction. I called around 11am and the technician, Brick, arrived around 2pm to evaluate our situation. I thought it might take a couple days just to get an appointment and I was pleasantly surprised. Brick explained how bad of a problem we actually had and all of the steps needed to remove the bee hive and all the honey as not to attract more bees. It was too warm in the afternoon, so he came back the next morning to treat and remove the bee hive. Now we can continue our construction safely. Well, one fumigation was enough in our case to get rid of the bees. But I had the impression that $ 350 for just one fumigation in one spot was kind of expensive. My feeling was that they tell you the price according to how desperate you look (I was. I was alone with two infants and a dog at that moment, the bees were blocking the entrance door and were already getting inside the house through light fixtures in the ceiling). The guy didn’t look very knowledgable to me. The answers to my questions weren’t very clear. I understood that if we were lucky and the bees hadn’t put any comb/​honey inside yet, one fumigation would be enough. That is what happened.
He also recommended me to get rid of a tree (a teeny-​tiny gum tree) at the entrance because it attracted bees and offered me to cut it off and put it on a drive way for me… for $ 100. I said «no, thank you». The gardener later that week took the tree away for $ 10. I could have done it myself for free, if I had time.

I am happy to echo the sentiments of the other Unilocalers regarding Action Bee Removal. Had bees in our chimney for years! Had bees removed by two companies in the past. Those exterminating companies left us with angry aggressive bees which attacked us. The bees were never fully removed and colonies would return in higher numbers. Finally called Action Bee Removal and spoke to Rick. Rick came out and exterminated our bees, and contained them in the process so that they weren’t able to attack us! He drilled holes in our chimney to thoroughly get rid of the colony. He came back the next day to patch up and install mesh so that the bees were not able to get back in our chimney. THE BEST WORK ever! I’m so happy to finally be free of those aggressive bees! The price was MORE than reasonable! I’m definitely keeping Action Bee Removal in contacts for future pest control !

We found bees flying in and out of the bricks of the chimney and I called this company to come and save me. The other companies didn’t seem professional over the phone and they didn’t have same day service.
Rick came and inspected the area, it turns out the bees were living the life of luxury inside of my house. They had built a hive in the mantle of the fireplace.
He did his magic and the next day the top of the mantle was cut open, the giant hive was removed, it was cleaned, painted and replaced.

I called three bee removal companies. The first one sounded like a skit off Saturday Night Live. I kept waiting for him to call me ‘dude’.
Just to have him come see my problem was going to cost $ 50 for an estimate. I explained I had dead and dying bees in the living room of my rental property near USC. He assured me that he would have to cut holes in my exterior walls to get the queen out safely to be relocated and the repairs to my home would not be included in his estimate. I was told there was no option because if the bees were in my living room they were probably in all the walls. Just fumigating them was not an option because the insulation of the hives would not penetrate to kill them. The dude’s phone estimate was close to $ 2000 with repairs.
So I called another company that offered a free estimate. They showed up the next day. The guy saw the bees dead and dying laying sprawled in their cemetery (behind my couch near the windows) and he said ‘they came in under the window air conditioner.” So more than 30 or 40 bees all found a gap under my a/​c in a matter of a couple days? Why would they rush in this hole? «They came in and then could not find the way out’ was his explanation. I insisted that he look outside. He went outside for a minute and looked from my front door. Came in and said I needed to spray the a/​c and left.
Next appointment was a free estimate with Action Bee Removal. Rick came in to assess the situation. Rick turned out to be a guy who has studied bees and knows much about them and their lifestyle. What a great personality. He went outside and stood a bit and then called me to look at my chimney. Bees were flying in and out like the 10 Freeway at rush hour. He then got a ladder, went up on the roof and started taking pictures down my crumbly chimney. Then he extracted a hunk of honeycomb connected to one of my bricks.
He agreed to do the job with no damage to my walls plus he mortared my chimney and left it looking better after screening it to avoid future invasions. He cleaned my fireplace which had never been used or cleaned since I bought the house seven years ago.
The cost was $ 550. That included the reconstruction of part of my chimney.

Nick came out to remove several wasp nests in the roof eves. Many foraging wasps still hung around. He did a follow up visit two days later as wasps are tough to get rid of. No new nests. Hurray!

Details: In this era of answering machines and voice menus, only 3 of the companies I phoned connected me with a living, breathing humanoid on the other end, and Action Bee Removal was one of them. After a brief description of my pesky swarming bee problem, «Rick» was dispatched and arrived within the hour. Rick’s service quote was 25% less than that of his next nearest competitor, and he completed the job extremely efficiently and professionally while I observed (from a safe distance). While he was writing up the service receipt, he gave me a crash course on «beehavior.» It’s clear that Rick has been doing this for a while, and he genuinely seems to enjoy his work.
The Good: friendly, competent service; fast response time; extremely reasonable service fee.
The Bad: absolutely nothing to mention.

I had a terrible experience with Action Bee Removal and would not recommend them to anyone.
We’ve had a large number of bees (and bee carcasses) in our yard over the last two weeks, including a transient swarm on our back lawn that came and went about 10 days ago. Three days ago, we finally found the source of the bee problem: a large hive (about 2 feet long by 1 foot wide) about 25 feet up in one of our palm trees. When I spoke to them on the phone, they said they’d send a tech out and the cost would probably be in the low $ 100’s. They gave me a two hour window (between 3 and 5) when to expect him, then called to say he would be there between 2 and 4 and that he’d call when he was on his way. The tech showed up, unannounced, at 12:45. I guess it’s good that he was early, but it was only because I came home for lunch that I was there at all to answer the door.
When I showed the tech the beehive, his first response was, «Whoa, that’s super high.» From there on out, he seemed to have no interest in dealing with the problem. He never got within less than 50 feet of the tree and tried to convince me that this was merely a swarm, not a hive and that it would go away in a day or two. I explained to him that I’d already had a transient swarm in the yard and that I’ve had a constant bee problem for the better part of two weeks and I was pretty sure they had built a hive there. The tech kept going on with a circuitous, long-​winded, analogy-​filled explanation about bees, road trips and Las Vegas. The Action Bee website text is a pretty good indication of what talking to the tech is like. He eventually came back to earth and said that if I really did want this swarm removed, he’d have to build a scaffolding structure and it would cost at least $ 600-​$ 800. He recommended that I buy a «bee pole» and have it on hand to deal with future bee problems. I asked him if he carried that equipment in his truck, I once again got a rambling answer about how this was a rare case and he didn’t have that equipment and that I should buy the bee pole.
After all was said and done, I was able to hire a competent bee service (The Bee Guys), that was able to use a ladder (and bee pole!), to remove the large hive (yes, it was a hive, even though Action said it was merely a swarm) of what turned out to be africanized, bees, all for the exact $ 180 price they quoted over the phone.

What a great experience! After 2 bogus estimates from other «highly rated» companies, I called Action Bee. They came on time, was highly professional and did an excellent job for a fair price. Unlike other companies, Action Bee: 1) did not charge for the estimate, 2) did not say «it could go higher» and 3) fixed the roof –all for half the price of other companies!!!

Would definitely recommend this company to anyone. We had noticed the bees for about a month but when we started hearing them through the walls, that’s when we knew there was a problem.
Rick from Action Bee Removal came out the same day that we called. He was so nice and professional — just a good guy. He killed the bees that day and had a contractor to our house the next day at 10am to cut the drywall and remove the hive. The contractor covered all the furniture and patched the drywall very well. They are a one stop shop — even said they would apply the paint if I had some handy!
If you see some bees, call these guys right away. Don’t wait like I did. Had I jumped on it right away I could have avoided the extra expense of cutting through our walls. But no matter how big the job, I have a feeling these guys can handle it!

Last Saturday I saw a large swarm of bees in my backyard. When I looked out 30 minutes later, they were all gone, or so I thought. When I walked out and looked up I saw that they were now concentrated in an area by the roof eaves.
After doing a bit of Googling, I learned that often bees will disperse on their own after 3 days. Fast forward, 5 days and the bees looked like they had moved in so I Unilocaled «bee removal» and Action Bee Removal was the first entry and they were located in Irvine as well. I called from work and made an appointment for the following morning.
The next day an informative gentleman named Rick arrived and explained the services they could perform for me to rid me of my problem. One choice was to remove a portion of the roof and then remove the honeycombs and then repair my roof. I opted for the second option which was seal and kill which may not sit well with some people out there but the cost was MUCH less and could be rolled into the cost of the other procedure if the bees were to swarm again. However, if I am not diligent in policing of the area and they build another hive, I will be responsible for the entire cost of roof removal in addition to what I already paid.
Once I made my choice, Rick got out his ladder and 30 minutes later was done. He is going to return on Monday to paint the blocks of wood he used to seal the vent holes and after a few days all remaining bees should disperse.
All in all, a quick fix for a reasonable cost. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they don’t return.

Can’t complain, tenants who have never complained about anything ever called and were freaking out about bees. Called Action, said I had a small budget, and needed immediate service, they said they could take care of it, and were out to the rental within an hour. $ 200, but from the what the tenants said and the bee guy said it was a pretty horrific bee scene. Super friendly, helpful and quick! Bees are gone!

Bee Repair? Don’t those hiving bee things only happen in the movies?
The wife kept telling me she heard buzzing noises outside our bathroom window, but because we have flowers out there, I just assumed it was just visits from bees.
I finally go outside to that part of the house, and wow, I find a swarm of bees have created a hole in the stucco and are going into the house somewhere! Being the cheapskate that I can be, I bust out the can of Raid Flying Insect and try to spray the bees, and the hole they are entering. After using an entire can, the bees are still flying about entering and exiting the hole in the house.
