Getting much more than you bargained for…
So what are the things you look for when selecting a Realtor to help you sell your home… For my wife and I, it came down to three things:
1. Market knowledge — Does this Realtor know the market for your home? Are they up to date with current comps and trends? Do they know who is buying and why?
2. Process knowledge — Once you engage this Realtor, do they have the know how to make the process go smoothly? Can they anticipate and handle the myriad of details that always come up during the sales process (staging, marketing, showing the home), during the negotiation process, and finally during the escrow process?
3. That something extra…
So let’s be honest… all good Realtors have #1 and #2 in spades. If they have been around for more than a couple of years, your home won’t be the first one they sell. We interviewed seven good Realtors and all of them had the tools and knowledge to successfully market and sell our home.
But what makes Alex different? What is that something extra? It sounds simple, but it’s the ability to bring buyers to your home that would otherwise never see your home. It’s easy to put your home into the online services, and that will bring in a number of buyers.
But Alex Vargas was able to bring in buyers that NO OTHER REALTOR even seemed to consider We had about 10 showings in the week our home was on the market. Most of the people seeing our home were international buyers looking to move to OC. The other Realtors we talked to did not even mention the international market.
So what was the result… We sold our home in a week, closed escrow 34 days later, and cleared more money than other Realtors recommended we list our home at.
Throughout the process, Alex and his transaction coordinator, Senka, made the process as smooth and stress free as one could imagine. Alex and Senka always kept us in the loop. Alex even texted us when he was on vacation in the Caribbean. Senka kept her eyes on the paperwork to make sure that everything we needed to do (and everything our buyers needed to do) was taken care of and was handled right — the first time.
Elana and I cannot recommend Alex and Senka more highly. Alex’s ability to bring in fresh buyers, and both of their ability to make sure the transaction is handled with a minimum of stress speak volumes for their professionalism, character, and work.

As other Unilocalers have already indicated, Alex is A+. We are moving back to CA from out of state; not our first dance with home buying but the first in The Golden State! As out of state buyers, we were limited on time and needed a lot of attention and support. Alex excels at customer service– «always on» and always replies. He dropped everything to coordinate and get us into homes when we had a last minute opportunity to come in to town; made sure we saw a good variety of homes to figure out what we wanted. After a couple more long weekend house hunting trips, we found «the one» and Alex and his team helped us through the process remotely without a hitch. Others have mentioned how they feel like family working with Alex, we felt the same– I think it helps that he’s a bit of a foodie. We enjoyed discussing houses and strategies over a good bite and drink, helped us feel comfortable expressing our thoughts, needs, and concerns. Also ended up with a good list of places to visit again! Also found this Alex knows everyone– he has a great network in the real estate industry and was able to put us in contact with some great contractors to help us update a few things in the house.
The deal has been closed for 3wks and Alex still checks in now and again to see how our transition and the work on the house is going– to me that’s a statement of who he is– cares about his clients for more than just the deal. Work with Alex– you won’t be disappointed.

Alex made our dreams come true! Finally buying a house and we did it 5 weeks! We looked at a ton of homes. I texted him day, night, weekends and he was always available! Once we found the perfect home we closed escrow in 12 days! It was all amazing! Alex is a friend/​family member for life :) I would’t go with anyone else!

«Alex went above and beyond». That sums up our experience with Alex over the past few months. We recently used him for a sale and purchase of a new home for my family and the entire experience was awesome. First of all we went above asking price in our sale and had one of the highest homes EVER sold in our tract. Secondly, he negotiated a killer deal for us on our new home. Thirdly, working with Alex was literally like working with family. I know it is cliché to say, but with Alex it truly was. After interviewing a few agents I chose Alex because he seemed to be the most qualified and passionate about his job. Through several months of preparing and then putting my house on the market he went above and beyond.
He’s extremely knowledgeable about the market and helpful with suggestions and options without being pushy — I appreciate low-​key. Always pleasant and professional. Available ²⁴⁄₇ by phone or email for any question or concern, including nervous rambles. Understands the enormity of selling a home, and on the other side the huge decision of buying one — he took the stress out of the process for all involved. When I’m ready to buy my next place I’ll be using him as well.

Really awesome experience with Alex. This was our first home and first realtor experience everything went perfectly. We were never kept in the dark and he would always respond in a timely manner. He found us a great property that was just perfect we still love it now and are excited for all the possibilities. And even after closing he was available to help us out with an issue we were having. Alex was awesome with helping my family rent our condo out. Since we currently live 400 miles away, we met with him in person and immediately had no doubts that he would take care of us. As soon as he received the listing information, he researched the property and discussed our options/​what to expect/​the process, etc. We felt very comfortable with leaving him in charge of our condo and he didn’t disappoint. He got us applicants within a few weeks and went over the pros and cons of each with us — he was extremely responsive and, although we had difficulties with the other agent, he remained professional and helpful throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Alex and would definitely use him again for renting and/​or selling. :)

First time Home Buying can be a very rough experience with many ups and downs. I’m glad we had Alex working with us through the whole process. Alex is very professional and responds to emails within minutes of you hitting send. This is something I can really appreciate because communication is key to any business relationship as well as personal ones. In addition to all this you will find that Alex is very easy to get along with and very knowledgeable about all matters regarding the transaction and information about the potential homes you are looking at in order to get you the best deal possible. He is also very flexible in that he will try to accommodate your schedule. Since both my wife and I commute to the LA area from the OC, we really only had late nights available on the weekdays and he was able to show us a few homes during those hours in addition to the weekends! He will walk you through the entire process as well as answer any questions you may have at any time during the day or even at night! We will definitely reach out to Alex when it comes time for us to upgrade or purchase another property, but for now, we have our dream house that Alex helped us secure. Alex was great! We had less than 3 days to make a choice on a place and less than 2 weeks to move into a new home. Alex was able to arrange for same day viewing of a place that we were really interested in and got our applications processed by the next day. We moved in 1 week later. Love the place! We choose Alex as our Agent due to the excellent reviews we read about him in this site. Our first contact was made by email as long as we were a family being relocated from other country to SoCal. During the time we worked together in a remote manner we could tell all the reviews were true, we confirmed this when we started working together in person. Alex is one of the most hardworking, honest, and reliable agents I have come across. He is quick to return calls, he puts your mind at ease through the process (which was especially helpful in our short sale situation), and he is so personable. He took care of everything and all we had to do was initial and sign the documents. I hope I can pass on some business to him in the future because he certainly deserves it.

I would say working with Alex while buying and/​or selling a home is like having a best friend you completely trust having your back during the process. This guy has sold two of my houses, helped me buy three houses and does it all while staying calm and professional even in the most stressful situations. Alex helped us sell our home and buy our new home simultaneously. He was always available to us for questions, didn’t matter what time. He went over and beyond. He actually had 2 people come to the new home before we bought to give us an estimate on pool equipment, and another for a remodel on the kitchen and bath. When I was feeling on edge about anything, he was always there with his positive attitude and willingness to do whatever needed to be done to make me more comfortable.
