Ash Dental Corp: A Sami DDS

Went in for a crown. This was our first experience with this office and our dental plan was new to us.
The front office staff — in fairness one individual in particular was condescending, unprofessional and downright rude. This person was either incapable and/​or unwilling to explain HMO insurance billing. The Dentist’s front office did not return the calls from the insurance company prior to our return visit and then this person refused to call the insurance company in an effort to resolve a few questions we had regarding billing. This person abruptly said, two times «you can get a second opinion” — that is not the issue we are NOT questioning the Dentist or his ability. Then she said, «I’ll just reschedule». I told her, «just a second, let us discuss it for a moment — I wanted to discuss options with my husband». She then snapped. «I’ll just reschedule.» Her body language was just horrible and inappropriate. I told her she was being rude and I walked out.
Contacted our plan and found another Dentist whose front office staff took the brief amount of time necessary explaining the fee’s, charges and how we could be accomodated. Nice, pleasant, professional. Fit us in right away so the necessary work can be done quickly.
And that folks is how you lose business faster than you can floss. And that is how your competition gets the business you lose faster than you can spit and rinse.
Really Dr. you need to have this person tone down the curt tone, snappish responses and disrespectful body language — she is your front office image and it is not good. Refusal to contact a patients insurance company to resolve a question is very unprofessional.

I would highly recommend Dr. Sami. I have visited Ash Dental 4 times now and actually look forward to my next visit. Going to the dentist was never a pleasant experience until I had work done at this office. Dr Sami was caring and generous with his efforts at making me feel comfortable during the procedures. He has a wonderful smile and is very kind. A good sense of humor goes a long way and he definitely put me at ease. The view from the chair gives onto dozens of palm trees which is in itself an added bonus. The staff is incredibly friendly. I grew up in France and one of the ladies is from Tahiti so we spoke French all the time. Nancy at the front desk is also very sweet. She took the time to share some fun stories as we were processing my insurance papers. She facilitated different transactions so it would make it easier for me to get maximum coverage. I really appreciated the whole experience and would encourage anyone looking for a dentist to highly consider Dr. Sami! Thank you Ash Dental!

Who doesn’t hate going to the dentist? Staff was greate and Doc’s was as good as it gets. I switched because my other dentist stop taking Blueshield so I switched to an inhouse provider and so far so good. Took out a filling and replaced with a crown and done before you know it.

This is a LEGITIMATE review!
This is one of the dentists you go to if you like being given unnecessary and lucrative (for Dr. Sami) procedures. I can promise you if you havent been to the dentist for over a year they will 100% force a «deep clean» on you telling you that you have the gums of an 80 year old.
Not only that, they will not do any procedures on the first visit. This will be purely for for a consultation where he will spend 2 minutes with you and bill hundreds of dollars to your insurance. Then he will tell you you need to come back for a 2 session deep clean so he can pocket close to $ 2000 for 1.5hrs work. Not a bad living if you can sleep at night.
I dont know whats happening in dental schools these days but these dentists should be wearing a patch over one eye!

I cant say enough good things about my experience with Ash dental. I heard several good things about Dr. Sami but was hesitant to try because I live in Costa Mesa and his office is a little bit of a drive. I opted to try a dentist closer to me and had a horrible experience. I wished that I had chosen Dr. Sami in the first place. The office is beautiful and I feel like we’re the only ones in there every time. There is never a wait, nor does he try to work on several patients at one time going from chair to chair like most dentists I’ve been too. My husband and I have 5 kids and I bring them all to Dr. Sami. I’ve never felt as though he was trying to sell me unneeded services. Nancy, the office manager is amazing. She’s knowledgable about insurance and always makes sure she’s getting you the most out of your coverage. She is always smiling and happy to answer any questions. I am amazed that another reviewer felt that they were being pushed to give a good review. I received 1 email asking me to review my experience on Unilocal which I think is a smart thing for them to do considering everyone uses Unilocal these days and of course they want good reviews. I had every opportunity to write a bad review. I have only good things to say about Dr. Sami, his staff and Ash Dental.

I hate dentists, I hate going to any DDS for any given reason. These guys chlanged my perception a lot. Everything is Ultra Hygene and clean. Assistant is Beyond amazing (she even gave me a lip for my dry lips). Dr Ashraf is very capable very experienced and very personabale.
The whole place is very professional and efficient, yet from the very first time you step in, you feel it’s kinda like your family.
I had two crowns done, I felt no pain during, did feel some pain a couple of hours after and the day to follow. During their work on me, I was day dreaming in Bora Bora, surfing and sitting in the sun… until suddenly Dr Ash said «we are done, see you in two weeks»

Dr Sami, clinical staff and office staff are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Dr Sami repaired a tooth with a porcelain inlay which he fitted perfectly. Thank you for my complete smile.

Going to get dental work done at Dr. Sami’s office was a good experience for over. I personally think the work I got done was of good quality, although a bit expensive (but I suppose that’s typical for Irvine based practices). I’d recommend him for anyone looking for a good dentist whose services aren’t over top (e.g. super fancy office with coffee, chairs with TVs…). The only downside is that the office is closed every Friday and weekend.

My husband and I have been going to Ash dental for a few years now. I have always had a great experience. Dr. Sami is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He is gentle and I am never afraid of what he might find or of needing a filling. By the way, in the few years I have been going I have only ever needed a couple of fillings and most times I get the all clear after a standard cleaning. I don’t feel as though they try to sell additional services unnecessarily here at all, as one other reviewer noted.
During my time going to this office I have been pregnant twice and both times I was comfortable that there wouldn’t be any procedures pushed on me that were unnecessary and I was comfortable in the dental chair throughout the cleaning.
I have generally always had the same hygienist, but went yesterday and saw a new one. Both experiences have been great.
The staff at the front desk are organized and very friendly and are always able to help with the confusing insurance questions about what will be covered and what will not.
My husband is terrified of going to the dentist and he would not go anywhere else now that we have found Dr.Sami.
We have already referred a few of our friends.

Best dentist I have ever seen. Didn’t try to sell me anything extra or push me to do anything. Very accommodating and patient with me. I wasn’t offered a gift card or anything else to post this (like some reviewers claim), I’m posting because I found a great dentist with a great team that are the best I’ve ever experienced.

I have so far been twice for a cleaning, and twice for fillings. Dr. Sami and his team are very professional, pleasant, and patient when explaining. They gave me several helpful tips for my bleeding gums. I highly recommend Ash dental.

Dr. Sami and his team do a great job. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years and each time I have a pleasant experience. If you’re looking for a dentist, Ash Dental is the way to go.

To start, I’m sure the good reviews on this page are a result of the bribing this office does for good reviews. I received an email after I visited Dr. Sami to rate on Unilocal in exchange for a chance to win a gift card.
Now onto the review. I made the big mistake of believing all the great reviews and ignoring the one review that says that he pushes you to do unnecessary procedures and sell you unnecessary products. I gave him benefit of the doubt and booked an appointment.
I have been religiously going to the dentist every 6 months and have always been told I had great teeth and to keep up mu normal oral hygiene routine. I moved to Irvine from out of state so I new I just needed my scheduled routine cleaning.
STRIKE 1: this office wont schedule you for a cleaning until you first had a full mouth of x-​rays, in which after you feel like you were walking around with a brain full of cancer due to the numerous x-​ray shots that they took, and the re-​dos because they couldnt get «good shots.»
STRIKE 2: Dr. Sami comes in, takes a look into my mouth, painfully probes my gums with his stainless steel instruments, and says something to the affect of «not a good sign that your gums are bleeding so much.» Well after you prod and poke my gums, OBVIOUSLY I will bleed. He said I needed a deep cleaning. I told him I didnt want that, I just wanted a regular cleaning like I normally do. He said that he really thinks I need it and should consider it for my own sake.
STRIKE 3: He then continued to serve me a platter of BS saying that I needed Invisalign because one of my upper front teeth is 1−2mm behind the other.
STRIKE 4: THEN, he said that since I am in the medical profession I should be more presentable to my patients and suggested I get teeth whitening. (Note: My past hygienists always asked me if I had whitening (which I never have had) because I have kept my teeth so white).
STRIKE 5: I have one amalgam (metal) filling in my mouth and he suggested I have it removed and fill it with white filling. (My metal filling has never ever bothered me, he brought it up himself.)
I left feeling like I was a victim of a scam. All I wanted was a ROUTINE CLEANING! But I was relieved that I will never have to go back there again to be manipulated in having unncessary procedures done and be sold unnecessary products.
It doesnt end there:
STRIKE 6: I have since been to another dentist and called to request my x-​rays. Guess what? They charge you $ 25 just to have the digital xrays emailed to you!
Bottom Line: Stay away from this place unless you want to be manipulated into unnecessary procedures that ALL come with some degree of risk, and also be sold thousands of dollars of equipment.
I would give him and his office 0 stars if I could.

Dr. Sami has been my doctor and my friend for many years. I think he is the best. I used to hate going to the dentist, now I love it.
Dr. Sami’s staff is also a wonderful group of caring professionals.
I urge everyone to visit the office and change dentists immediately. You will be happy that you did.

I went in for a normal first meeting exam. I told Dr. Ash I wanted/​needed braces and how to go about getting them. He talked about invisalign… I already knew how expensive they were and said i did not want those. He told me they were the same in price as normal braces were (I thought WOW he charges either so little or braces now are really expensive!) I applied for the care credit card. To my surprise, I called my insurance later on and they told me I could have received braces for half the price of invisaligjn (he said they were the same amount) and they broke down what my payment plan would have been. I just feel like there was nothing honest about how I was treated. The service was great, but I’m sorry, I do not want to be lied to for a company to get a little bit more money out of me! Never coming back.

Top four reasons to go to Dr. Sami
1) Professional and friendly staff. Dr. Sami is personable and approachable and on top of the latest dental healthcare trends. Nancy, the office manager, is always a friendly face and never hesitates to welcome you — she’s my favorite part of the visit (aside from getting my teeth taken care of).
2) His office is accessible and located in a building near Hoag hospital in Irvine and parking is always easy to find.
3) Dr. Sami’s office is modern, clean, and organized with the latest magazine subscriptions. Good luck trying to finish one;my appointments have always been on time.
4) Another reason to try: you’ll get one of the best scenic views of Quail Hill from the dental chair. It’s soothing to watch while having your teeth worked on.

Dr. Sami and the office staff are extremely thorough and professional. The office is clean and the equipment up to date. They don’t push procedures but instead give the patient the information needed to make an educated decision about her own dental health.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sami and Ash Dental for almost twenty years. He is the absolute best dentist. He is friendly, honest and immensely skillful. I actually look forward to my visits to the dentist because of Dr. Sami.
Also, the staff is very professional and the atmosphere is friendly, warm and rather like home.
I encourage everyone to make an appointment with Dr. Sami. You will be impressed.

I did not like this dental office. The office staff were nice. But I felt pressured to do major dental work, that later I found out was not done properly and caused me extensive pain. And all of it had to be redone. Not happy with this dentist.

The ladies in the office as well as Dr. Sami are all friendly and helpful. They explain the procedures they are recommending or conducting, and provide accurate cost estimates for their work. They are very patient and easy to work with. I recommend this dentist to anyone.
