Creative Arts Academy

My son wants to have drawing class, we walked in the school, the teacher is very patient, the class is fun. My kid like the teacher and class. So far so good!

We believe that creative endeavors are both a break and a boost to academics so we decided to enroll our daughters in art classes. We were dismayed that many art studios take a «production» approach (every piece is taught the same way so every piece looks like the others) that seemed to defy the point of creativity. After a friend’s recommendation, we tried Creative Arts. What a difference! Highly qualified art teachers who teach background, knowledge, and techniques while still encouraging, honing, and elevating individual expression. Meg, Latisha and Kris are wonderful. To date they have taught our girls from kindergarten to tween, and in drawing and painting using pencil, charcoal, pastels, acrylic, watercolor, and now oils. Our daughters (and we) love Creative Arts!

I highly recommend Creative Arts to any experienced or aspiring artists. Meg has been an amazing influence on my children’s artistic ability and confidence! Great for all ages and levels as well…

I attended creative arts for years since the late 90’s. The teacher and owner Meg was so friendly and easy to work with. I quickly started attending class more than once a week to learn new skills. I learned all basic skills to master drawing and painting. I started attending as a preteen and built my portfolio with the help of the teachers to get into OCHSA’s Fine Arts Conservatory. From there I went on to OTIS College of Art and Design with Meg As my portfolio mentor.
Now I’m a graphic designer.
They are an amazing art school program!

Both my daughters have been going to Creative Arts since they were in elementary school. They are now in college! They have not only improved amazingly in art, they have made life-​long relationships. Meg, Leticia, all the students, they are like a second family to my girls. So much so that my older daughter even started volunteering there in high school, helping with the younger children classes.
One year my older daughter wanted to skip the lower level art in her high school. She wasn’t allowed to do that unless she proved with a portfolio that she is capable of being in an upper level art class. She did many art work at Creative Arts and with the excellent teaching of Meg, she was able to make a great portfolio to show the teacher. She did so well that she was allowed to skip the lower level art class.
Creative Arts is not just an educational class. It’s a caring, loving environment with amazing staff. I strongly recommend this class to all parents and students.

As a typical parent who invests tons of money on the outside of school curriculums, I also sent my daughters to art and piano classes. Many of my friends’ money and time got wasted with other art teachers, but I surely see a full return on mine from Creative Art.
With the warm and charm environment, my daughters and I got to spend many fun memorable years at Creative Arts.
One of my daughters is in college now. She gets a scholarship from school’s art department and also a drawing related part-​time campus job, even though she is not majoring in art at all:)

Our daughters have been coming here for several years, and they really enjoy their classes. Our older daughter (11 yrs) has progressed from very basic art, to doing really creative, wonderful works. Over the summer she even took the portrait class for teenagers. The teachers encourage creativity while assisting them and allow the students to create their own works — this is not a paint-​by-​numbers! Love, love, love it!

I was a part of creative arts for about 3 years in their teen classes and I’ve even volunteered as a teachers assistant for elementary school level students. I began coming to this art studio due to a recommendation from my friend and I immediately felt comfortable thanks to Meg. Not only did my family see a difference in my focus and artistic abilities, but I also felt more confident in my creativity and my character.
Meg has been an incredible influence in my life. She constantly encouraged me to experiment with my creativity and helped me discover who I am as an artist. Whether that was playing my favorite music or talking to me about my inspiration, Meg always created a comfort zone for me to express myself through art.
Everyone from creative arts have greeted my with open arms from day one. I’ve not only made great art at this studio, but also made great friends.
Everyone I’ve introduced to this studio have fell in love with it the same way I have, so I highly encourage anyone to give it a shot to experience it for them selves.

Our daughter (now 14) has gone to art classes here for 6 years. She’s a very creative kid and needed a place to develop art techniques and also express all the ideas that she had, freely. She felt stifled by the art teacher at her elementary school. Meg and Latisha have been such great instructors and art mentors for her. They guide her but allow her to explore new things in a very supportive environment. Can’t say enough positive about this place. It’s a really relaxed, happy, creative environment. Also, my daughter says «Meg is hilarious.»

My husband and I are not very artistic so when our 9 yr old daughter asked us to add art on her already long list of activities, we were very hesitant.
She kept asking for months so i decided to bring her to Creative Art. We explained to Meg that we did not know anything about art and there’s no art gene run in the family.
Meg assured us that she has had many students from families just like ours and they did great.
We signed up for the tryout lessons and immediately were impressed with our daughter’s progress. My very athletic girl can sit thru 2 full hours focused and quietly working on her projects.
Meg knows how to encourage her students and she created a very laidback environment, perfect for you to explore and to be creative.
Class schedule has many options and when we have conflicts with other activities, they are willing to work with you.
I sent my girl’s paintings to friends and family members and they are so impressed, we got a lot of «where did she get that from?»

It is a good class. Kids of all ages can do the art here. My teacher, Miss Leticia, is very nice. I love my class, and can’t wait to go every week. (from actual art class participant, age 5)

Awesome art place. Great and friendly staff. Although it’s small it’s a great place. It’s perfect for little children or hobbyists. I wouldn’t recommend this place for serious artists. It’s a place to relax and make friends.
