This is the cleanest el pollo loco I’ve been to. Nice service too.

FYI! I was the GM of this store for quite some time. My employees and I developed a lot of relationships with the regular customers. I’ve transferred to the El Pollo Loco at 13421 Newport ave in Tustin. I’ve rehired a majority of the staff here. If you’re one of those aforementioned customers, then we’d love for you to visit. Thanks for your support of this store :) Also if we used to help you with Catering and you’d like to use me again feel free to call the store at(714) 450‑7090

This location is no longer open. Closed down sadly. I enjoyed going here from time to time. Quick, healthy and good service. Plus it was close to home

The best El Pollo Loco ever. They are extremely clean, and fast. The cashiers usually let you know about any coupons or deals going on so you as the consumer can get the best deal. The food is exactly what you get at El Pollo Loco. Crazy good chicken, fresh tortillas, and decent sides. Their salsa bar here is spotless and there is no question of freshness. They have a horchata machine! I personally prefer Orange Bang but know many people who would love unlimited horchata.

Dear Franchise Owner — I really want to like this place. I only go there because it’s a matter of convenience. Service is typically slow, despite the restaurant not having very many customers to begin with. What irritates me is the consistency of the food/food prep. For example, the tacquitos can either be good(juicy chicken) or really bad(mushy, soggy chicken). I like EPL a lot but if this keeps up, I may have to go to Chipotle instead.

One of the best El Pollo Locos that Ive been to… Now what makes this one better than the other? Well…before I begin… every El Pollo Loco has the same menu… and has the same recipe. The thing that makes this place stand out are the small attention to details. Ive been to many El Pollo Locco… and I ABSOLUTELYHATEWATERY/WATERED SALSA… but not here… you get them chunky and creamy-ish Ive been to many El Pollo Loco… or other places where the staff members seem to be hating life working there. The GM here is filled with positive energy… he is proud to be the GM of this location and his energy level makes everything and everyone around him that much better. Very energetic, very kind, very great service. Its these 2 things that makes this place stand out more than the other locations. About the food… the food is ok… some of the items seem quite expensive though. I usually order off of the Loco menu. Actually… I retract my statement… the food is OK. The taco is a taco… but it doesnt have the authentic mexican taste… the taquitos are taquitos… but it doesnt have that taquito taste… yah you get the point. The location has easy access to parking and is quite spacious. UNTILTHEN! ^-^

I’ve been here a few times and the service has always been good. My bf and I went recently because he had a «buy 1 combo, get the 2nd combo free» coupon(well worth it because the combos can be pretty pricey). Well, he gives the lady the coupon, and as she completes the transaction, she shuts the register drawer and pauses. «Oops! I forgot to apply the coupon.» Strike one. She gave my bf 2 coupons for some 10-piece meals that expire in the next week. Guess we’re gonna be eating chicken for the rest of the month. Strike three. @_@ As we go to raid the salsa bar, i realize the lady didn’t give us our cups! Strike three. We go back to the lady, and she said, «My bad!» It was funny to hear a 70(?)-year-old lady use that term. She gave us 2 large drink cups to cover up this mistake, which was fine. Fortunately our orders were correct. She even opened up the to-go containers before she set us on our way. :) Quick tip: They’re hiring! It’s something like $ 9-$ 12 an hour. Not too shabby.

I love EPL. However this particular franchise really sets the bar low. The manager is often seen yelling at staff. They often seem out of sorts or disorganized and don’t seem ashamed to show it. The woman manager who occasionally is there likes to throw her weight around. All I can say, the experience is just kind of creepy. I must say, I often patronize other EPL’s and just love the food, just not this one.

I go during dinner hours and the manager there is very friendly, very nice. We always end up having a conversation and it’s usually unrelated to our meal, but the food’s always fresh for me and it’s just a nice place to go for cheap and quick food on a weekday night. The minus 2 starts because… they could have been a little bit more clean in their dining areas. The salsa bar is always messy and the tables themselves are a bit dirty. Another minus for the quality of food. Though, it’s much healthier than other fast food restaurants but I get tired of wiping my fingers from the grease. The chicken is nicely spiced but usually the meat is too dry from just sitting aside by the time I get to it. But, I really like their cole slaw! If you like its cabbage-y, crunchy taste this place has a decent cole slaw.

I haven’t been to an El Pollo Loco in YEARS. I may be only 21, but the last time I was probably there must have been at least 15 years. Haha. I stopped by to get a quick fix of lunch and decided on the original pollo bowl. Honestly, it should have been a bean bowl. There were hardly in pieces of chicken in it and those very few pieces were pretty dry and tasteless. The cashier who I believe was the assistant manager(?) was pretty courteous. I came around 4PM and it was dead inside, but I would expect this since Woodbury isn’t the most trafficked area in Orange County. :-p

I didn’t think you could mess up a chains fast food, but they managed to do it here. The portions are much smaller then at most El Pollo Locos and they cost more. When you walked in during«peak» dinning hours it is completely empty. The food tasted old, probably because it was from the day before.
