Bad deal — call another company, I called and scheduled a single lock rekey. The driver called me and could not find the house and was a hour and a half late. The realtor I work with was at the house waiting for BENNY to arrive. He finally showed and rekeyed one lock. The person who I booked with that morning told me the charges would be $ 29 for the service call and up to $ 40 for the rekey. So I am thinking $ 69 for the call. Here’s what I was charged… Service $ 29 Rekey. $ 77 Schlag. $ 42 2 extra keys $ 9 $ 157.00 for one lock!!! When I tried to pay with a credit card I was told that there is a 10% fee to pay with a card. Lucky I had cash with me or I would have had to pay an extra $ 15.70 just to use my card. Called the office to see if a manager would help and was basically shuffled off the phone and told me he would look into it and call me back. I won’t hold my breath.

Dependable, but stay on your toes. Just moved into a new home and wanted all the locks re-keyed. I called Green Locksmith on a Saturday morning and spoke to a receptionist who quoted me a $ 29 service fee, and $ 19-$ 45 per rekey, depending on the lock. She also said that labor would be included in the lock price along with 2 keys and that she could have a locksmith come by shortly. I liked that they didn’t give me an open quote — like $ 19 and up per rekey — and try to charge me $ 60 or $ 80 for a single dead bolt lock. 20 minutes later, the«locksmith»(he never gave me his name) called me to confirm the address and said he would be here in about half an hour or so. Within 1 hour of my call, the locksmith had arrived, and within another hour — all 10 of my locks had been successfully re-keyed. That’s a LOT of locks, especially with glass windows and double locks on each side of the door. He tried to begin work right away, but I never let anyone start work without getting an estimate first. He said it’d be $ 29 per lock, plus the $ 29 service fee and a small fee for the labor. O.o «But the receptionist said the labor would be included in the charge to re-key each lock.» Total came to $ 300 even(extra $ 10 for«labor») and when it came time to pay, we gave him our credit card. Except he said his credit card machine(smartphone) wasn’t working, and could only take cash or check. Wish I knew that earlier, so that one of us could’ve went to the bank. We are very careful about who we give checks to, due to all the check-washing business going on. Luckily, my mom was here and had some cash we could borrow so we could pay the man and be done with it already. All in all, it was alright compared to other locksmiths we’ve used. I once had a guy try to quote me $ 65 to install a chain or security guard on my front door. Hello? My husband can do that for $ 7. Like I said earlier, you can count on these guys to get the job done — just be careful to not let anyone take advantage of you.
