Intermix Fit

So far I have only taken the TRX and pilates reformer classes but all three of the instructors I had were great. The classes are small which is nice and I felt like I had a good workout. The only downfall is that the classes fill up so quickly that it is difficult to secure a steady workout. It would be awesome if the place was bigger and they could accommodate more people/​classes.

Highly addictive, excellent workouts make you burn till it hurts and push further than you thought you could.
Basically I absolutely love this place.
It’s small classes (8 people) is perfect.
Some of my fav instructors are Bree & Kelly. Great for beginners too, I had no idea what I was doing at first. lol!

I love this place. I’m on my 3^rd month now, going about twice a week.
Each class is about 50+ mins and with 8 students per class with the exception of 50 min cycle class, which I believe maxes at 16 students.
I’ve taken classes with both Melissa and Kelly and they are so awesome. They are very motivating and make me want to work harder without being pushy.
So far I’ve taken TRX/​Pilates, Pilates Only class, and Pilates/​Cycle class.
If you are planning to come, book the classes ahead of time as they fill up pretty fast. The waitlist system really works, though. So far I’ve had 100% success rate with it.
Looking forward to taking more classes at this studio in 2016.

I found Intermix Fit through ClassPass and always maxed out my visits every month. I love the variety that this boutique gym offers: Cycle, TRX, Reformer Pilates, and Yoga. It’s also really nice that it’s smaller group classes. I recently decided to transition from ClassPass to an Unlimited membership to Intermix Fit and one of my main reasons was because of the variety of classes offered ensuring that I wouldn’t get burnt out so easily. Excited to start my 2016 with this gym!

I’ve been going since it opened. I absolutely love the energy of the instructors. The class size is small so it’s like a personal training session. I’ve seen a difference in my body shape. I feel and look more lean. I think they do a really great job at instructing so you never feel like you’ll injure yourself. The time flies, too!

I’ve been here a few times via Wildfire and ClassPass and I’m a fan.
The instructors are great, and they offer a variety of mixed classes from spin (you can either bring spin shoes or put your tennis shoes in the cages), to pilates, to TRX. Compared to Seafit, there’s a little more of a cardio aspect to this place which is good if you want to lose weight a little more quickly.
The machines are all clean, there is only one bathroom so people do have to wait and there are no showers, but overall this is a very nice studio. It’s located in the same plaza as Walmart but in the corner so you don’t have to worry as much about the parking frenzy. The only downside is if you’re coming from anywhere near Jamboree you’ll be stuck in a lot of traffic during prime after work hours. Classes here go quick so book fast!

It’s such a great work out. I’ve done both their classes the trx/​Pilates and cycle/​Pilates Both are good depends on personal preference which you like more. Clean space, plenty of parking, very cool reformers. I’m a beginner and Melissa has made me feel welcomes from day one. I have only taken Melissa’s classes and I can say she’s awesome! I’m sure the other are good too. Melissa gives you a good work out, and has a fun personality while teaching. The combo of two work outs makes the class go by fast. I think it’s one of the best boutique studios I’ve been to.

First time taking this class yesterday and a cousin referred me. It was an amazing workout, good change from the 24 hour gym classes I usually take. I’m sore today so I know it was a good workout! I enjoyed every minute of the class. The instructor was awesome, she made sure my form was correct and was very motivating. I will be going back for sure! It’s a must try!

I absolutely love this place! I’m a dance major and need to get back in shape before school starts at UCI so I found this gem of a place on Unilocal.I tried my first class for free with Lisa O’ Connor and was so sore the next day, it felt great! It was my first time trying TRX and Pilates Reformer but I’ve already scheduled my next three classes. My class was at 8 am on a Friday and I was the only one in the class so it was like a nice little private session!

Great new place to workout in Irvine! Love the TRX/​Pilates class — I’m using muscles I never knew I had. High intensity Pilates is a nice alternative to the traditional reformer classes I have taken in the past. The reformers are a very basic version without a lot of the bells and whistles of most Pilates reformers, but you are only spending about 25 minutes so it’s not too distracting.
Instructors are motivating and very fun! Be ready to walk away sweaty and with a smile on your face.

I never thought I could workout so hard by doing so little. I was surprised how intense the Pilates and TRX workouts could be.
I’ve been lifting weights for the past 20 years, both for competition and now recreation and I’m surprised at how much more flexible I can become if I stick with a program like this.
Keep it up, I will be back, but not for the spin cycles… I hate spin cycles.

Intermix is FUN FUN FUN! They are located in the center that houses Walmart and Starbucks — you’ll find it tucked to the left of the Walmart. It’s a small studio that has pilates reformers, TRX cables and Spin Bikes. The studio itself is small, clean and definitely gets the job done. Within the studio, you’ll find a restroom that’s ideal for changing but no shower facilities. However, they do have cubbies to keep your things while you’re working out. Also, they provide towels, so you can keep your sweaty self in check!
The workout is AMAZING. Both the owners (Kelly & Melissa) are the instructors on alternate days and help you get that amazing burn. I’ve taken both the Cycle & Reformer/​Reformer & TRX class. Both Kelly and Melissa are really great motivators and make sure that you’re working (AND SWEATING!) hard. Basically, the class works that you spend 50% of your time on one portion doing cardio and 50% of your time working on those muscle groups. The class will vary depending on who is teaching the class, so no workout is ever the same.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life and historically turn to pilates, TRX, reformer & barre classes to tighten up those pesky core and teeny. «hard-​to-​activate» glute/​thigh muscles that always seem to be my trouble spots (and weakest spots when I’m running). The Intermix classes sync all of the key components of core stabilization, muscle fatigue for lean, long arms & most of all… making it fun.
Every glass is new, challenging, fun and most uniquely — customizable. On the days that I don’t feel as tough, Michelle & Kelly always have 2 – 3 alternative moves to offer making sure I still get the best work out I can — even on those days that I want to do anything but break a sweat.
The gym is spotless, the class sizes are intimate and even the occasional exhausted cursing is (somewhat) encouraged :-)
Coming in to this studio feels like I’m going to workout with gf’s or teammates — not a competitive meat-​head house or stuffy ballerina-​wannabe make-​shift retail front.

I wanted to wait and write about here till I tried all classes. I am so thrilled to have found this place. Super appealing spot. It’s very welcoming, clean and relaxed. The instructors Kelly and Melissa are just awesome! So accommodating and professional.
I love the mix of two types of classes, really gets you a full body work out. Be prepared to sweat!
I can’t say enough great things about this place, you have to see for yourself. First class is free, so it’s worth a try!

The studio — The studio is not too far from both the 405 and 55 freeway. Plenty of parking, included inside a big plaza. The equipment is great quality. One side is for cycling and TRX… the other for pilates. Everything is very clean (sanitized after every class). There is filtered water available to fill up your water bottle. Towels to wipe off your sweat (no showers though).
The trainers — Simply said, they are amazing. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and encouraging. They ask you what your goals are so they know how to push you in the classes.
The classes — They are 50 minutes in length and will kick your butt! I never was a fan of pilates before because I thought it was «easy.» Wrong. I am in good shape and these classes (all of them) are very challenging. In addition, the classes are intimate so you really do get the feeling of a personal trainer.
They have tons of promotions going on right now. I currently have the unlimited package and think it’s incredibly worth it.

5 days in a row… that’s how many days I have been to Intermix Fit Studio and I am ADDICTED. The only reason that I am not on day 6 is because it’s my «day-​off»! Tomorrow, I am back for another session of pure toning, core strengthening, and an absolute love-​hate relationship with my abs now. Melissa and Kelly are very attentive to the details of your work-​out goals and continue to check-​in with your progress. The studio is very clean and after every class, each machine is wiped down and sanitized — I’m a germ freak. I am bringing my sister, brought my spouse (who’s now an unlimited member), been going with my co-​worker (who’s committed to 10 classes) and will continue promoting Intermix Fit. I am an «Unlimited-​a-​month» Intermix Fit devotee!

Hello new studio! This studio is VERY new. New equipment, new everything! It is a small studio, but that is what I appreciate about it: the small teacher to student ratio makes you almost feel like you are getting a personal training session, which actually made my first class much more enjoyable because I came in not knowing what TRX or Pilates reformer is. I was lucky to have Melissa as my teacher. Shes friendly, upbeat and a motivator for you to get through your class.
Getting myself into the machine was a bit awkward, what with the straps and the springs (and also, when is getting yourself in a straddle on your backside ever not awkward?), but Melissa assured me that it is something that you get used to soon.
The class really works at toning your whole body. They even have a spin/​pilates combo class if you want to throw in some cardio. Some other perks they have are free towels and a water cooler. However, they do not have showers, which would probably make coming here before work a bit of a challege (unless you dont mind going into the office a sweaty mess). It definitely isn’t a deal breaker for me though, and I plan to come here often after work!

This studio is the bomb. I went in there and thought I was in heaven — it has the three workouts I love most — spin, TRX and pilates reformer. The space itself is clean, beautiful and thoughtfully laid out, with gorgeous concrete floors. There are different sections for the spin bikes, TRX and reformers. It feels very spacious and you don’t have to move the spin bikes to do the strength portion, unlike some studios I’ve been to. They provide towels and have filtered water.
I took a pilates/​spin class with Kelly. Both portions were really good. They use a kind of reformer I’ve never used before although the set up is basically the same. I think I prefer the wooden reformers you see at most pilates studios because they have a more substantial feel and are possibly longer. The spin bikes are high quality and the music was at just the right volume. The class was more in line with the Grit/​SoulCycle type classes where you ride to the beat and do push ups on the bike etc. I think I’m more partial to traditional spin classes, especially in a split class like this where you’re not on the bike for that long and are already getting a strength workout on the TRX or reformer. In any case, I got a great workout and would have stayed for another class if I didn’t have to catch a flight. I do bootcamp type workouts sometimes and while I get a lot out of them, I don’t really enjoy the workout. This workout passed by so quickly and yet I felt I got similar benefits (cardio+strength). Plus, unlike a few studios I’ve been to, this one has really nice equipment and quality instruction.
I’m pissed I didn’t find this studio until I was about to leave OC. You SoCalers are such lucky bitches.
