Irvine Regional Hospital

This place has been bought out buy Hoag, totally remodeled. Great service, friendly faces and people. Even the cafeteria food is really good.

This facility is decent. The food is great and the staff is generally non-​sadistic if you’re in the right place.
It can be hell, though. They forced me to piss myself because they wouldn’t let me use the bathroom all night. I don’t know whether this is «policy» or they are sadistic.
Overall, their doctors don’t really understand the patients and can’t comprehend what is really going on.

these clowns don’t know how to bill an insurance company. I keep getting huge bills in the mail. for a broken finger! 1 x-​ray, 5 minutes getting the finger dressed, 10 seconds with a real doctor, 1 hour of total wait time, and several gigantic bills in the mail. go somewhere else, unless you enjoy talking on the phone multiple times over 2 months to clear up a very simple insurance matter

I had an accident this weekend and was taken to IRH. I would advise if you have a choice that you go anyplace but here!!!
The ER was tiny and the entire time I was there was left in a hallway. I had to wait over an hour to see a Dr and receive pain medications. The Dr was rude and acted like I was inconveniencing her by being there.
Go elsewhere if given the choice.
The only reason I gave it a star is the Xray techs where pleasant and professional.

Grandma had an accident today and was supposed to go to Saddleback, but Saddleback was so backed up we had to go here instead. The ER is really small and nothing was computerized and paperless so things were all done by hand. I didn’t really like how there was a lack of communication between members of staff, but on the whole, the doctor was good and so was the attending EMT.
Grandma had to get a CT scan and the wait was forever. Finally, even after the doctor called up to see when she was having her CT and they said right now, it took another 10 mins for them to come get her. I did really like the people doing the CT scan though. They were really efficient and very friendly.
I can’t give them a full 5-​stars considering the awesome service we got at Saddleback last time. The facility isn’t as new either. I’m giving them a 3.5 and bumping them up to 4.

This hospital is clean, organized, relaxed, not crowded, professional, and the people are mostly nice. As a regional hospital they have most of the fancier equipment and specialties you might need on premises.
As always your mileage may vary widely with particular doctors but overall this place is well-​run. I just hope that the giant Kaiser being built next door doesn’t swallow this place up and bring its «Bleeding from all of your orifices? Here, take two Motrin and go home.» quality of medical care to all of us.
