History

Established in 1995.

Known for its stunning architecture, Irvine Spectrum Center was inspired by the world famous Alhambra, the 13th century citadel that overlooks the city of Granada, Spain. The historic palace is comprised of buildings connected by magnificent courtyards, which feature an exotic blend of classic architecture with a colorful overlay of Spanish details such as tile mosaics and elaborate carvings.

In addition to the variety of shopping, Irvine Spectrum Center features an assortment of cafés and restaurants and one of the country’s largest movie theater complexes, Edwards Irvine Spectrum 21 Cinemas and IMAX. There is also live entertainment at The Improv Comedy Club. Further adding to the fun atmosphere is an antique-themed Carousel with horses and whimsical animals, as well as the 108-foot Giant Wheel.
