Dr White is amazing! I’ve read the reviews and most are based on personality, who cares! Dr White is thorough. His explanation for what was to happen was spot on and he understood that I was so scared. Jennifer his assistant was a great comfort.
I was in so much pain prior to this operation I never thought I’d be free again! Dr White and his magic hands made that possible. Thank you Dr White. You are high on my recommend list!

Stay as far away from this practice as you can. For several years I have had back issues and during the recent holidays had a severe episode of pain necessitating a visit to urgent care for xrays and medication. They recommended a consultation with an Orthopedic Physician for further treatment.
I was able to get an appointment Dr. White. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a friendly receptionist which was the only positive aspect of my visit.
I was told that the Doctor was running approximately 1 hour late. As I was in so much pain, I decided to wait. After about 15 minutes, I was ushered into an examining room and seen by a young male nurse. He was curt, unfriendly and I felt like he felt it was a great imposition my being there. He informed me that they needed to take xrays to which I told him that I brought the ones from the urgent care. He stated he did not think they could use them but would check.
After sitting in this room for what seemed an eternity eventually a radiology person appeared informing me that I needed xrays. I told him the young man was checking to see if the ones I gave him were ok. The radiology person summoned him and he confirmed that my xrays were ok. Later he informed me that I would still need more xrays and when I reminded him that he told me I could use mine, he denied having said so.
After more than 2 hours, eventually the Dr. arrived. No apology and in fact he seemed bothered by the fact that I was there. He told me to walk on my toes and then without any further examination informed me that he could not help me until I have an MRI and to call for an appointment after I had one. His attitude was pushy and extremely arrogant.
These people are so condescending and I felt like they were talking down to me and doing me a favor by even giving me the time of day.
I wasted 3 hours, paid them my co-​pay (which they were happy to accept) and left without any proper examination or help.
One really wonders that if Dr White is so «bothered» by patients then why practice in the first place. Surely he could find something else that he would like to do better.
I will NEVER go back there and strongly advise others to be aware of this practice when considering Orthopedi care.

This purely due to his total disregard for his patient. My first appointment he was a no show. My second appointment he kept me waiting for over 30 minutes. My third and final appointment he kept me waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes and then to find out he hadn’t arrived yet. This is totally unacceptable! He may be good at his practice but his total disrespect for his patients is disturbing to say the least!

My sister had two very successful surgeries by Dr. White. I’ve been suffering with neck and back pain for more years than I care to admit. She has been telling me to go see him for years. I finally was able to make it to California to have the surgeries.
I am scheduled for the first of two surgeries in two weeks.
Due to some delays because of Thyroid Cancer it has been a huge hassle getting everything done and getting the clearance to finally have this surgery. I had to postpone the original surgery date of June 3^rd and have a radical neck dissection. Dr. White caught the bad lymph nodes on an MRI before surgery. Thank God he did!
I have put his Practice Administrator, Debbie Black through the wringer for sure. through all of the mess, she always remains professional and most of all compassionate.
She never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing them and only made me feel that she had my best interest at heart.
I’ve been through a lot in the past 4 years medically, and it is refreshing and wonderful to deal with a surgeon and staff that are so wonderful.
Dr. White made me feel so comfortable and confident. I think he is very personable and I know he will do a good job with my surgeries.
I am travelling all the way from Maui to have these surgeries done by him. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do these surgeries on me. I have every confidence that he will do an outstanding job.
I’ll update this review post op. I can honestly say I am actually looking forward to this surgery. I have suffered for so long. I know there are no guarantees, but I am confident I will have a very good outcome.

This physician saved my life! Do not believe the recommendations that he is arrogant. He is professional all the way. If you want someone to stroke your soul, see a counselor or your pastor. In 1998 he performed a fusion on my neck, C-​6. Before that time I lived in chronic pain. I used to drive my two young kids to school holding my neck with one hand, and the steering wheel with another. Since that time I have had virtually no pain, and two years after the surgery, I gave birth to another child. I did my homework before the surgery and found other surgeons in the field telling me that they couldn’t do a better job than Dr. White. Dr. White takes his job seriously, he doesn’t candy-​coat anything, he is thorough, and professional. Fifteen years later, I’m still going strong!

My GP referred him to me when he suspected that I had a herniated disk. I had lower back pain and numbness that went all the way down the back of my right leg and foot. Because of potential nerve damage, I got an MRI and saw Dr. White 3 days after I saw my GP.
When I first met him, I was a bit intimidated. One, he’s got a big voice (which is normal for him), and two, he thought that I didn’t grasp the seriousness of the situation (my herniated disk was about 15 cm long — the biggest he’s seen so far this year) and made it obvious that he was annoyed by it. In my defense, I’ve never had a serious health problem before, and everything was all happening so fast.
Speaking of fast, he scheduled for me to have surgery (microdiscectomy) 4 days later at St. Joseph’s. Of course I had my doubts. My family kept on asking me to get a second opinion, but I trusted my GP (of 12yrs) when he said that he wouldn’t go to any other orthopaedic surgeon (my family thought they were in on it together — LOL). Besides, it’s already a bad sign when you’ve got severe pain and barely any control of your entire right leg and foot.
I did my homework though. I found that on other medical related review sites, he had a reputation for being arrogant but highly skilled. I didn’t feel that he was arrogant, but he was definitely very confident and sure of what he does. And just like he said, the surgery went very well. I didn’t even stay at the hospital for 24hrs (ok, I was desperate to go home so I rushed the nurses to discharge me as soon as I got the ok from the PT — there’s no place like home, right?).
Bottom line — he is indeed very skilled. I’m still healing, but my suture is only about 1~1.5in in length. Very clean, minimal scarring. Through my follow-​ups, I found that he is very anal and detail-​oriented. Everything he does is to the point, no messing around. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs back surgery. Oh, and he seems to like kids. He softened up after I kept bringing my 4yo daughter to my visits.

If you don’t want your lung to collapse during your spinal stenosis surgery, & if you want care for your wounds-​avoid this man at all costs! My family member almost died, & he had the audacity to stand there & argue w/​me in the patient’s room. No one could get a hold of him though he was in the same building! I drove from Burbank to Irvine, yeah-​I beat the doctor to the patient’s IC room. He is arrogant, and is a big screw up. The medical board should take his license away.
