I just had a worst Quesedilla«Kimchi» in my life. For a price of $ 6.48, I could have gotten a great dinner of Steak Tacos at a Mexican Food Truck(at the corner of Euclid/First). I have heard so much a about Kogi Food Truck but now I am so «disappointed».

Hella loved this place! I remember I had their food a couple years back with some homies and how crazy amazing it was! Since I was already in the area, I decided to try it out again. I went with my girlfriend and we got the Short Rib Taco, a Wet Burrito and the Kimchi Quesadilla. The Wet Burrito was the one I was most excited for! I had this with my homies for the first time years ago and I remembered it being ridiculously good, and this burrito didn’t disappoint either! As soon as I bit into the burrito, I had a burst of flavors from the spiciness of the pork and all of the sauces in and on the burrito, it was like in burrito heaven! I was so into the burrito I didn’t even talk to my girlfriend the entire time we were eating haha. Next I tried out a bit of my girl’s Short Rib Taco and it was pretty good! I loved how they were able to mix Korean and Mexican flavors so well to make such a unique taste! Lastly I tried a bite from the Kimchi Quesadilla. I actually hate kimchi but since this place was so good, I decided to try a bite, and I gotta say it was not bad. I was digging the taste but since I’m not a huge fan of kimchi, I stopped eating it. But for me to say it was not bad means it’s pretty fucking good if you’re into kimchi or down to try it! Overall, this place did not let me down! I was really hoping that the quality of food did not go down since it was so long ago since I had it but I had nothing to worry about! The food was amazing and if you’re in the area, you for sure gotta try this food truck out!

The best tacos I’ve ever had! No joke. I had the short rib and chicken tacos, topped with kimchi. The meat is cooked perfectly and the kimchi is a great compliment on each taco. The quesadillas and burritos are also incredible, it’s worth tracking down the truck to get this food!

I know it’s a bit past the time when the Kogi food truck was popular, but this was my first time trying it. I was finally able to stalk them and find out when they were going to be near the Irvine area. I’m really glad I got to try them out. The Kogi truck was run by Mexicans, and it is such a nice blend of Mexican food(tacos, burritos, nachos) combined with Korean ingredients like Korean short rib, spicy pork, chicken, etc. The staff was really friendly and quick. Food is packaged in a way to make it easy for you to take out. As for the food itself, it was delicious. I tried the tacos with a few different meats and also a burrito. It was a lot of food, but I would order it all again. I liked the taste of the tortillas, I liked the mix of meat and pickled veggies, I liked the ratio of meat to tortilla. It all tasted fresh and the combination made you want to keep eating more. I want to try them again as they have other things to try like burgers and tons of other interesting dishes. It’s a fun truck to try and definitely one of the best in terms of fresh, quality, creative food. The prices are pretty fair and they have some combos with a drink too if you want. I understand what made them so popular, I can’t say I’ve had anything like it and I will try them again.

Do. Not. Wait. In. The. Line. We waited 45 minutes in line plus another 20 minutes for our food(4 tacos and a drink) it was sooo not worth it. Tacos were fine. Pretty basic actually. Not sure what all the hype is about but I wont be back.

I went there for late lunch and had the burrito with spicy pork, kimchi, pickled cucumbers and brown rice. It was fantastic. If you like Korean fusion food, definitely add this to your list of places to go.

Definitely worth trying as it is something unique. This is LA’s famous Korean Fusion food truck. Short Rib Taco: 3.5÷5 — Found the lettuce to be a bit overwhelming. Not enough meat and didn’t find the Kogi coleslaw and the relish to be that satisfying. Definitely quality but don’t really understand the hype. Blackjack Quesadilla: 4⁄5 — Much better. The quesadilla boasted a very balanced mix of caramelized onions, pork, cheddar, and jack cheese. Found the verde sauce to be solid but overwhelming. Would have passed and ordered the quesadilla without the sauce in retrospect. There is so much that looks great in Kogi that I will be sure to try more eventually. The chocolate tres leches, the burritos, the kimchi quesadilla… I will be back.

Kogi… Fusion Korean Tacos… Burritos. Quesadilla. Yum! Love the marriage! It’s like cookies & milk… Bread & butter… Tom + Jerry… Peanut Butter & Jellllllyyy! Thank you to the creators of a beautiful thing! Their tacos & burritos hit the spot every time. I LOVE this food truck! You just have to try it to appreciate such deliciousness! The tacos combination of salty, spicy, meat + crunchy well dressed lettuce is to die for. The burritos are loaded — meat, beans, rice, slaw & cheese. Worth your money too, @ $ 6 a brick. Tacos are $ 2.29 each. Follow them on the website to find out where they’ll be! Done, go get your burrito!!!

Couldn’t find the truck for a while as they posted the wrong address on twitter and their website! Its at k-1 but the address they used was at a bunch of office building. I now see that there are other reviewers that had the same problem. How hard is it to update an address on their site! Anyways, food wise, it was salty and oily not as great as I remembered.

I got the short rib taco and slider meal. The short rib filling was very good. The sliders had the same filling but with shredded cheese. The meat was very flavorful and the slaw mixture was cool and refreshing. Their website was very easy to use, which is a must because unless you get lucky you need the site to find out where the truck is located. They have 4 trucks in the LA/OC area. Oh, yeah, the chocolate tres leches cake is

This is my favorite food truck. I love Kogi. Their tacos are amazing. I even follow them whenever they around my area all the way to Irvine. They have a cult like following and i can tell why. Their fusion cuisines are absolute the best I have ever had from any other food trucks. My favorite thing to get has to be the short rib tacos. I’ve also had their burritos and its really good too. The places I have seen them pit their tent at are in Orange and Irvine so I’m not sure if they travel elsewhere.

I’m a regular at this location. That will change. I came here last night and I am noticing more of the shady goings on in the parking lot with the locals that hang out at this bar. I may have to start going to the Phat Collectibles location on Saturday nights instead. The truck, however, I have NO complaints with. My usual order consists of two short rib tacos to eat in the car and two short rib burritos to eat at work the next day. I am told that their black bean quesadilla is off the hook. I may need to try that one. My wife is a vegetarian and Kogi does offer a vegetarian option and my wife LOVES it!!! The only time that I have ever strayed from this order was when I was ravenous and ordered the Pacman burger. Jumpin’ Jehosaphat!!! That thing was HUGE!!! It had all three meats in it(Korean short rib, chicken, and pork!!!). Go get your lipid panel checked after that one or have a cardiologist on call. In any event, it tasted like the short rib burrito, but with more meat– same flavor. You can also ask for a combo which is a main entrée and a drink. There is also a double meat option as well. They do take cash and cards. They also have an option for you to hire them as a private catering event. I don’t know how they would keep track of people that are at my event(wristband, perhaps?). People would probably try to sneak in and take advantage. One good thing about this location is for the past few weeks, there has not been a long line and I’ve received my food rather quickly. This is a Los Angeles staple. Go get some, peeps.

I remember having Kogi when it first came out — when I was still in college! WOOOH, that was quite a while now, but nothing much has changed. The short rib and chicken tacos/burritos are still amazing and the served with dressed cabbage. So great for the price, and extremely flavorful. Last night we followed them to Orange and I had the blackjack quesadilla for the first time — not bad! I really liked the salsa and thought it was a great combination, little bit of sweet and a little bit of heat. Good job guys!

Kogi’s Kimchi Quesadilla is everything that is right about Southern Californian food… fused. It’s been over 6 years since Kogi debuted their now iconic Short Rib Taco featuring two homemade corn tortillas, caramelized KBeebz Short Ribs, Salsa Roja, Cilantro/Lime Relish and a Coleslaw tossed in a chili-soy vinaigrette and if there is a more jacked, imitated or downright stolen food concept in SoCal, I would love to hear what it is. Even with the hordes of impostors around, Kogi can’t be confused. They are also responsible for kick starting the whole Gourmet Food Truck revolution as well. Straight up pioneers, right?!? That all being said it isn’t the tacos that have me making pilgrimages to the Kogi Truck by the use of Twitter. No, not at all… I simply adore Kogi’s Kimchi Quesadilla because it is just downright sexy. It is the the perfect combination of spicy, tangy, sapor and savory that can be had at this price point. They have numerous outstanding options on the menu but they are not what made Ray Choi an absolute genius in my mind. It is the Kimchi Quesadilla. Korea. Mexico. Sex. Kogi’s Kimchi Quesadilla.

The Blackjack Quesadilla. Spicy pork. Carmelized onions. Cheddar and jack cheeses. Griddled till crispy and oozy. Drizzled with citrus jalepeno roasted garlic salsa verde. Yes, please! NONE of the other Korean Mexican fusion places, whether they be brick & mortar or food truck, come close to matching the flavors and quality of Kogi.

Kogi without the line and long wait? Come to this regular stop in front of Beach Girls and Al’s Market 5 Liquor(formerly Sweet’s Liquor) on the corner of Beach and McFadden. Every time I’ve been here, the truck is usually scheduled for 8:30 p.m. — 10:30 p.m. or 9 p.m. — 11 p.m., usually on a Friday or Saturday(check the Kogi site for most current times). The workers on the Naranja truck are friendly and work fast. I asked for some extra red sauce and the lady told me she couldn’t give me too much… not because she didn’t want to, but because they were running low on it. Usually they hook up a whole paper tray full of it, so I appreciate that she gave me a reason this time. Short Rib Tacos — Marinated Beef Short Rib, Kalbi flavor, which means it’s like Korean BBQ, sweet with some garlic. Includes their salad on top, a mix of lettuce and cabbage with a chili-soy vinaigrette, cilantro, onion, sesame seeds and lime juice. The tartness of the salad contrasts well with the very sweet, almost charred but tender short rib meat. Served street taco style in two toasted corn tortillas. Sweet Chili Chicken Quesadilla — I have a hard time deciding which is a better quesadilla, the Blackjack or the Sweet Chili Chicken. The Blackjack has Spicy BBQ Pork inside while the Sweet Chili Chicken has of course… chicken. Tons of jack and cheddar cheese, gobs of Chicken and caramelized onion in every bite in a large flour tortilla that’s cooked to a crisp. The sauce is what makes this dish. Kogi calls it their sweet and spicy salsa naranja. I don’t know what’s in there, but it’s good. A little citrusy but very sweet with a small kick. It’s sweeter and different that their red sauce. If you order a quesadilla, be prepared to share because it’ll fill you up quick. There’s no real area to sit, so you just have to take it back to your car and grub off of your trunk or hood, or just sit on the curb. There aren’t enough trash cans around, so be nice and bring your trash back to the truck.

Hmmmm… I should have known that something with so much hype would be a let down, and not as a result of high expectations either. I went in with curiosity and an open mind. I don’t really like food trucks since they’re typically expensive and not very good, but Kogi started it all so I figured I should give it a shot after all these years. Short rib tacos were dry, bland, and the lettuce was wilted. Ordered two. Gave the second one away.(This is supposed to be their specialty???) Short rib burrito was equally disappointing, if not more so. I didn’t finish it. Prices were high but that was expected so no deduction there. Didn’t seem or feel any different than the roach coach that comes to shop night. 2 stars because it was edible. Can’t say much more than that other than I won’t be doing it again. At least the line was short.
