Specialties
We serve Hawaiian Plate Lunch, a common meal served throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The plate lunch consists of two scoops of sticky white Japanese rice, one scoop of homemade maccaroni salad and a choice of protein, usually teriyaki style meats. All of our food is made from scratch in our restaurant and is cooked to order. Three of our options are local favorites: Loco Moco, consisting of handmade hamburger patties covered with brown gravy and over easy eggs, served on a bed of rice; Kalua Pork, shredded with cabbage; Chicken Katsu, skinless, boneless chicken dipped in batter, coated with Panko and deep fried, served with a tangy sweet, slightly spicy sauce.
History
Established in 2003.
The first L&L Drive Inn was opened in 1976 on the island of Oahu. It became successful and approximately 50 L&L locations opened throughout the Hawaiian Islands. In 1999, the first L&L Hawaiian Barbecue opened on the mainland, located in the Puente Hills Mall in Southern California. The following year, we opened the Huntington Beach location. With the success of the first two mainland franchises, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue grew and now there are almost 200 locations world wide. L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is the only plate lunch franchise that originated in Hawaii, and we bring the Aloha Spirit into our Irvine location.
