I was sent to Paul Nguyen for a root canal. the other dentists. office didn’t have the time to help me. Believe me it the best thing that could have happened. Maria, Dr Paul and his receptionist were great I felt well at ease. and had no problems (no pain) not even when he numbed. my gums for the procedure. if you have a fear of dentist go to him your fears well be no more. I recommend. him and his team highly. Dr Paul Nguyen you and your staff. are GREAT

I wanted to leave another review after requiring more treatment. Over the weekend, I was experiencing pain in tooth #7. It was very sore upon chewing and very sensitive to cold and hot. I called Dr. Nyugen”s Monday at 9am and Heidi told me not to worry, she’d contact my hmo and booked me a same day appt. for a consult.
The office was extremely busy but, his assistant Maria welcomed me with a big smile, listened and I didn’t feel rushed. Dr. Nyugen came in and greeted me the same way. I knew I was being worked into the schedule but, again, I felt welcomed.
He does a very good job at taking his time in the exam to determine exactly what tooth is causing the pain. And, if that tooth actually requires a root canal. He is very matter of fact, which I appreciate.
My tooth was dead and I did need a root canal. This was my 4^th root canal with Dr Nyugen. It was painless with minor soreness afterwards.
Afterwards, I had to go to my dentist office to determine what type of restoration would be needed. The dentist said he did a great job and made the smallest hole in tooth. I just need a filling, no crown!
I don’t understand the negative comments and ratings. He has always treated me with respect (as well as his team) and only wanting to do what is necessary.
He always tells you to please call if there is any other issues following the procedure and he is sincere.
I hope to never need further root canals, but if I do, I have peace of mind knowing he’s here for me as my endodontist!
Don’t hesitate to contact his office for a consult. The office is modern and clean, too!

I want to thank Dr. Nguyen and the crew in the dental office for such a great work they did for both my root canals. I had 2 root canals done the same day and I didn’t experience any discomfort that same day and after that. Dr. Nguyen is definitely an excellent endodontist! He was comforted and patient throughout the procedure. Thanks so much!

I recently had to change dentist because of my insurance. I don’t trust just any dentist to work on my teeth. For two months I had pain on my tooth. My general dentist refered me to go to an endodontist but that particular one didnt take my insurance. The dentist told me I have to do two root canels.
I researched from my insurance and found Dr. Paul Nguyen. He has two office location one close and one far away from me. He was the only one that spoke my language so that could my dad can go with me to make sure my teeth was done right. I chose the one far away from me because that was the only day available I can take work off.
I am a complainer but I want to say I don’t have any complaints about him nor his staffs. They all are professional, made me felt welcome, explained all the procedures, and gave me examples of what has happened in terms that I understood. Him and his staffs saved me money and from doing two wrong root canels. The two teeth my general dentist told him was not the ones I needed to have done. Dr. Nguyen and his assistant found the correct tooth and did my root canel and now I feel so much better.
The negative reviews I read which I am glad I ignored. I wish they gave him and his staffs a second chance. He is probably what one person put is «arrogant» but that reviewer doesn’t understand that in our culture we will say what is true and what we think because we always want to help others and it just probably came out wrong. I deal with it through my whole life, hate it but I came to terms with it.
In conclusion, Dr. Paul Nguyen and his staff deserves 5 stars and up because of their professionalism and their great service. He even did a follow up with me the following day. I was suprised for someone caring to make sure I was alright.

I went to Dr. Nguyen yesterday for my first root canal and I have to say I was so nervous about the procedure. I, like many people have heard horror stories about various friends who’ve had bad procedures done — well not me! Dr. Nguyen and his staff did an incredible job on my root canal and I had NO PAIN at all today! My dentist, Dr Kodama (who is also great!) recommended I see Dr. Nguyen and he know that I was a bit apprehensive — but Dr. Nguyen provided me with laughing gas which calmed my nerves and he was done with the whole thing in an hour! I literally ate an hour later and had no problems with swelling or discomfort at all! TOTALLY recommend him. Heidi and the support staff were all very professional and kind as well.

This office is the best. their staff is nice.DR.Paul is awesome gental. and they have saved me so much money by just being honest. I highly recommend this place. I was told by another Western which is the worst that I needed all these root canals .Dr Paul helped me see they were wrong. saved a lot of pain and money. thanks to them. I’d give more stars if they were avail. I also got a root canal done in Dec. they were awesome.

Wow, I guess you can’t make everyone happy! Went to Dr. N. Yesterday as a referral from my dentist as I needed a root canal. The office staff was very friendly and the dentist did a excellent job! My root canal was done in 20 minutes! I will definitely go back to him if I ever need a root canal again. (Hopefully not though! :)

If you need a root canal procedure, This is the place to go. I waited 2 years to write this review to make sure nothing goes wrong. Best decision I have ever made!
I was referred by my current dentist to a specialist (Dr. Nguyen) and he found my root canal in 2 seconds! Before I went to Dr. Nguyen, I went to a «cheap» dentist who couldn’t find what was wrong with my tooth. I never going to make the same mistake again when it comes to dental problems.

I should have read his reviews before wasting my time filling out all the forms. Dr Paul Nguyen is rude, unprofessional and condescending just like his other reviews state. I made sure the dentist who referred me learned of the deplorable treatment I received. I walked out just in time before he started the procedure and I will be filing a complaint with the ADA and the Better Business Bureau.

If I could give him a zero I would. His staff is very nice, he however is rude, talks down to you, doesn’t listen and basically acts like you’re a complete idiot. His xray technology is old, compared to my regular dentist, the xrays were complatey fuzzy and subpar .I walked out without any treatment because he was completely abrasive and actually heard another patient do the same. Find another specialist.

I was referred to Dr. Paul Nguyen by my general dentist for my first root canal. I was very pleased with the care, it was exceptional. The staff and technician were terrific.

Dr. Nguyen has long been my endodontist of choice for he past 10 + years. If you need a root canal or an endodontics related procedure you want it done once and with long lasting results. Each experience I’ve had with Dr. Nguyen and his staff have been a positive one and involved the latest technology to ensure an accurate diagnosis and successful completion of the procedure. My experience having to get a root canal yesterday afternoon was no different. He’s proven to me he practices with ethics as he once sent me home after a referral from my former dentist to get a root canal. I didn’t need that procedure and Dr. Nguyen took the time to explain why. 5 stars from my personal experience over past decade.

I was referred for a possible treatment on an old root canal that also has a crown in the front. Dr. Nguyen checked it out very thoroughly and determined that no treatment was necessary. He was very professional and I felt very comfortable with him. His staff was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. I would definitely recommend him and as a 60 yr old I with many dental treatments over the years I felt totally at ease. I lost my dentist I had for 30+ years due to the new ACA coverage so finding a new dentist and specialist was very intimidating for me.

I started my root canal at another dentist but it turned out the job was too difficult for her — so after sitting in a dentist chair for almost 3 hours, she decided that it be best that I see a «endodontist» to complete the root canal. While initially disappointed that I had wasted my morning with her (my dentist), I think being referred to Dr Paul turned out to be a blessing in disguise. He did a great job in explaining what he was going to do and based on what I saw on the x-​rays, it looked like high-​quality work!
I could go on-​and-​on, but my general recommendation is to have Dr Nguyen perform any root canal work as opposed to seeing a DDS. Even though it may cost a little bit more, I think the benefits of having a «specialist» (or endodontist) perform the work make sense.
Two other comments:
1) My DDS’s office is modern and beautiful looking. Dr Paul’s is more basic — don’t be scared off by that as what really counts is the quality of work and there Dr Paul deserves 5 starts
2) Dr Paul personally called me the next day to follow-​up to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. Fortunately, all is good!

I would like to say that I have had my share of dentistry! With a horrible toothache that I had for over two weeks, I visited the office of Dr. Paul Nguyen. His office manager, Heidi was knowledgable with dual insurance coverage and very sweet.
Dr. Nguyen calmed me, talked to me during the procedure and was a master in his skill with treating my tooth. I had very little discomfort with the injection, the procedure went smoothly and his office assistant was comforting and skilled. I have had several root canal treatments with other dentists. Dr. Nguyen was and is the most gentle, and skilled– a compassionate doctor who truly is a specialist in his field. I left his office with a SMILE! After having root canal therapy on a hyper-​sensitive tooth! His office is modern, with top technology. He truly cares about his patients and truly cared about relieving my pain. If you need a root canal and have fears of dental procedures this is the doctor for YOU! You truly will be taken care of by the entire staff. I am so grateful to have been referred to Dr. Nguyen. He is a MASTER in his field.

My root canal was a great success! I came into this procedure thinking it had to be extracted and had lost hope in saving this tooth as every other dentist just wanted to skip to extraction after seeing my x-​rays but Dr. Nguyen committed to saving my tooth! Thank you Dr. Paul N. T. Nguyen for an awesome job. You were the only one willing to do anything to save my tooth and you did! I couldn’t be any more happier with your work, ethics and skills! I feel so relieved no extraction was needed, that you saved my tooth and that everything went well with the root canal! Everyone in this office is more than friendly! Two (2) root canals on the same day — not something you look forward to… With that said, they had to be done and I could not have asked for a better endodontist than Paul Nguyen. Paul is truly a master when it comes to root canals, and I’m speaking from from the standpoint of knowing the diference. I have the unfortunate, and painful…, memory of dental work by unskilled offices. From the initial shots to numb the area, up until the final closing portion of the procedure, you clearly know, and feel, that you are in the care of someone that truly knows what they are doing. The entire office staff is very friendly and professional. I hope I don’t need any future root canals, but if I do, I will only go to Paul Nguyen. HIGHLY… HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Nobody likes going to the dentist, let alone having to be referred to a specialist. Fear of an unknown practice, and quality of the work, professionalism, etc. is of great concern to me at least.
Other than the nitrous oxide being a bit on the expensive side at $ 150, the front desk was excellent at the explanation of benefits from my insurance company, and the itemized costs for the treatment plan. Dr. Paul Nguyen was extremely gentle, and explained what he was about to do before doing it, and breaking down what the situation was in simple terms, and what options were at my disposal.
I will definitely be going back next year, once my annual dental insurance benefit limits reset, and recommend his office for anyone in the OC area needing to see an endodontist.

Dr Nguyen will rip you off and is not a pleasant dentist.
I had a root canal, the insurance sent the benefits statement which clearly stated that I only owe the copay of $ 15, however when I was in so much pain and needing a root canal the office made me pay $ 300 or they would not treat me. The insurance said that they owe that money back to me as agreed in the in network agreement with the insurance company. I called to request my money back and was hung up on by the office manager. «How unprofessional» I will now contact Board of Education to report their unethical behavior.
This was the worst dentist ever.

Dr. Paul is professional and his staff is friendly & helpful.
Dr. Paul is an amazing endodontist. My tooth issue was, I’m sure, not unusual, but he saw me quickly & deal with the issue quickly. His office is modern and his technology is top-​notch. I was impressed with his usage of computer technology to show me exactly where the issue was. Dr. Paul was warm but was not pushy on treatment options. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else in need of a root canal.
