Petals by Xavi

I got married in 2006 and I want to share my experiences with petals by Xavi.
I met one of their staff, ‘Amanda’ at a bridal Expo and decided to go with their floral service and coordination for my wedding. Their flowers are VERY expensive because they need to pay rent for a big house they own in Chino Hills where staffs work (do you need a house for coordination and flowers?)
I went to the wedding site with Amanda and she is VERY pushy and persistent about making you spend money on flowers. She just doesn’t listen to you, saying ‘you definitely need flowers here and there’. Finally not convinced by her pushy sales and inconsistency in fees, I decided to visit Xavi herself with my girlfriend. At that time, they were to show me the sample flower for the wedding. However the flower was half dead, and again Amanda was saying how beautiful the flowers are and she cared nothing about brides needs.
In the end I needed to change my wedding date and I asked Amanda about changing fees. When it comes to numbers everything had to go through Xavi and I did not hear from them for three weeks. I ended up paying them $ 1,000 for last minute cancellation in fear that they might charge full if we don’t pay. I went on to find another florist who was reasonable and caring.
I’m surprised that after all these years of bad business they still exist.

I’m giving them 5 stars because of Kevin and Mandy. There were a few hiccups before them but I didn’t have a single problem after getting started with these two.
Thank you guys for making such beautiful arrangements for our special day.

I was a little worried after reading the reviews below but Xavi was my wedding planner through Luxury Estate Weddings so I gave the flowers a try. They are pricey, but worth every penny! I was so happy with how beautifully the bouquets and chuppah flowers turned out. (The Chuppah could have used a cover on the top. The design of the structure was not exactly was I wanted).They did exactly what I asked for. Kevin was great to work with and wanted to make sure everything was right and I was happy the day before and of the wedding. You will not be disappointed.

I use Petals by Xavi exclusively at our venue where we book wedding, events and corporate Holiday parties. I have never ran into an issue with them, they are longtime vendors of our facility and provide excellent service. I wouldn’t recommend a florist if there were issue after issue with my clients. In an industry where we deal with alot of high maintenance people, Xavi and her staff provide excellent customer service to all of our clients with no fuss.

So I helped my girlfriend with her wedding stuff and she had a bad experience with Xavi. They ran out of flowers for her cake — she had planned the cake to have a river flow of flowers coming down, but instead… it was a couple of flowers. They ran out of the flowers that they had planned.
The flowers weren’t even that effective. My friend was really upset and wanted a refund. They told her they’d give her $ 200 but she’d have to sign a confidentiality «hush hush» agreement — not to badmouth them in order to get it. We were shocked.
I was trying as best as I could with the whole thing, but omg… seriously? you ran out of flowers… when you discussed with her about it. And the flowers werent what they discussed –_​–
The grooms boutenierres were seriously small. I was trying to fluff a groomsmen flower… yeah… I did that ;)
When promised a blend of flowers… Lies! They were all roses and nt a blend of green. They were kinda cheaply. I tried to do my best with them but you know… Eh
After the ceremony, the workers started yelling at each other IN FRONT OF ME AND THE GUESTS. Unprofessional!!!
My friend didn’t take the money because she decided, she wanted to tell people to avoid them. I agree. We were looking through her planner for my wedding stuff coming up and nope… no Petals for me.

I have nothing rude to say about Petals by xavi, they run late because they try and give each bride their personal time one on one, but its worth the wait! I must say this is a great company overall my husband and I choose them for our upcoming wedding but because of their policy that they fail to highlight upon booking (you can’t decrease the «quoted price» you can only add to it. We ended up loosing our deposit and booking another florist. When your planning a wedding things change all the time I’m not bagging on the policy I just feel it should have been openly discussed and pointed out before signing the contract where it was stated along with a million other things ! Lesson learned :-)

I have to say that I did run into a few bumps along the way with the florist. I think the invoicing was a little off and I paid some different amount then first quoted; however our main contact Idil was amazing! There was some confusion about the ceremony start time, but I LOVED my bouquet and center pieces. I also was given a toss bouquet which was equally beautiful. I was connected to Xavi by our venue. At the end of the day I was so pleased with the outcome.
I did try to save money and used another florist for our bridesmaids bouquets and flowers for the guys. I paid less and it showed, I should have stuck with Xavi. As I said Idil is amazing and on it and will be so helpful, she was on top of it.

This company keeps calling and leaving me voicemail messages saying that I have a scheduled appointment for wedding flower arrangements. I NEVER CONTACTED THEM FOR SUCH THING. It is SO annoying how they continues to send me emails and leaving messages on my phone. Very UNprofessional of them! It seems as though they got my contact information through David’s Bridal — UGHHHH

My husband and I used Xavi as our florist. She went above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. She really made our vision come to life. We got so many complements on our décor!
For the ceremony we had a red chuppah, and candles down the aisle.
The reception we had a red ceiling treatment and our centerpieces were a combo of floating candles in staggering heights of pillars with black magic roses submersed in water, plus black manzanita trees with crystals hanging from them. Xavi also had candles everywhere in the ballroom.
My bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet I have ever seen. Black Magic Roses, Gardenias, Red Peonies, and Purple Lisianthus. The bridesmaids and groomsmaids had either black magic roses or purple lisanthus in their bouquets.
I would and have recommended Xavi to any couple getting married or in need of a good florist! She and her team were so nice and did all that they could to work within our budget!

I used this company a few years ago, and I wanted to share my experience in order to encourage brides-​to-​be to seek another, more professional and courteous, business.
Good:
–Extensive protfolio with pretty pictures
–Lots of options for décor and floral arrangements
–Introductory meeting is glossed with a shiny, friendly veneer
Bad:
–Hard to reach: by phone and email, especially when a customer has a concern
–Did NOT use the flowers I originally requested and they promised to deliver on their contract
–Way overpriced for the quality they deliver in the end – I had major buyer’s remorse after dealing with them
Worse:
–Claimed that they did not receive our check for final payment, and asked for an additional check. However, they cashed the original check after we sent the 2^nd one (so we paid twice – double!!). When we called them out, they did not respond to any calls or emails until we threatened to take them to court.
–I wrote a review on another site, which they contested, since it was so negative. However, my documentation of our transaction was enough proof to allow my review to be published.
Ps. Xavi: this is what happens when you anger a customer. I will never forget this infuriating experience.

I got married in 2007 and like other brides my final total was $ 1000 more than the estimate that was given during the time the contract was signed. I was told 2 weeks before my wedding that the estimate did not include the stands that were needed for the church ceremony. The day of the wedding the centerpieces were not anything like the sample that was shown to me. Also when my husband’s flower fell apart, the assistant pulled an orchid out of my bouquet to replace it. When I would talk to Xavi on the phone, I had to constantly remind her of our last discussions and she would get off the line with me to take calls from other brides. I was treated as if I wasn’t special enough because I didn’t spend a ridiculous amount of money. 2 months later, Xavi called me also threatening me for the bad reviews I posted on her.
I also volunteer as a church coordinator and had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding in 2009 where Xavi handled the floral arrangements. I’ve seen many florists come and go every week, but this was the first wedding where it started late, not because of the bride or anyone in the wedding party, but because of the florist. Xavi kept asking the wedding party if she gave them the flower girls’ bouquets, they all looked at her like she was crazy because they obviously didn’t have it. The mother of the bride shared that she was unhappy with her service and had arguments with Xavi over the flowers (I didn’t mention that I had Xavi at my wedding, I didn’t want to ruin their day). I also had to lay out the aisle runner and help out her assistant because they were running so late.
The only positive thing I can say is that I did get compliments on my wedding flowers and I thought the flowers for the wedding in 2009 were pretty as well. However, the mother of the bride and the wedding party thought the flowers looked wilted and dried up. In the end, I don’t think the unreliability and poor treatment/​service is worth the pretty flowers. She’s not the only florist out there. If you go with her, be prepared to pay more than you expected.

I had an absolute Wonderful experience with Petals by Xavi!!! The flowers were amazing! Much better than I could have imagined! Michelle was wonderful and I could always get a hold of her. On my wedding day they got there to set up On Time and everything looked great! Michelle and Xavi came since this was their first wedding at the Disneyland Hotel. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience with them. All of my guests STILL a year later tell me how beautiful everything was. Thank you so much! I highly recommend them!

I did not plan to have elaborate flower arrangements for my wedding, so I’m a bit reluctant when my then-​fiancé convince me to get a professional florist. Xavi showed me an extensive portfolio, and while all of them are gorgeous, none of them fit my style. It did show that she knows what she’s doing so I went along with my fiancé’s wish. I already know exactly what I wanted, but I was still quite nervous.
My bouquets turn out to be beyond my imagination; it’s so gorgeous I couldn’t even believe it. The centerpieces look amazing, my guests admire all of them.
Her assistant Sam was super helpful and resourceful. He was fun to work with. Pricewise, it was three times more expensive than our original budget. However, the flower arrangement was three times more beautiful than what we imagined. And we got more flowers than what we originally requested. I do wish we had known about this way in advance though.
Overall we had a wonderful experience with Petals by Xavi.

I was hesitant to use Petals by Xavi, because they came so poorly reviewed on Unilocal.I was kind of forced to, because my reception site provides the flowers as part of their package, and your only two choices are Petals by Xavi and some other company that was even more poorly rated on Unilocal,so I went with Petals by Xavi. After all, no one on Unilocal complained that their flowers weren’t there or that they didn’t look good or something.
We only decided on the flowers-​included package about two weeks before the wedding, so I did appreciate the fact that they were able to schedule an appointment with me so quickly.
I met with Michelle in Irvine, and I really liked her. She was friendly and personable. I originally was only going to have them do my centerpieces, since that it what was included in my reception site package, but I decided to order my bouquet with them too, since I was down to the wire and hadn’t gotten that figured out yet.
During my meeting, I was really skeptical of Petals by Xavi (thanks to Unilocal), and I was a little upset that my «included» centerpieces apparently did not include sales tax or a delivery charge. I was really glad to hear that the delivery charge covered delivering the flowers anywhere you needed them through out the day. I wasn’t going to have flowers at the church, but since the centerpieces could be used during the ceremony, and the delivery charge would get them there and to the reception, I went with that plan.
So to recap: I have to trust this company, that everyone on Unilocal seems to hate, with getting my bouquet and other flowers to the church, and then getting them to the reception site. And they have to look good, too.
Wow. I was nervous.
I had no reason to be. My bouquet was sitting in the church when I got there, and it was absolutely beautiful. Michelle had come early to the church and set up the flowers at the end of the pews.
It looked great! And everyone told me my bouquet was amazing (it pretty much was).
Were they expensive? Yeah, but it wasn’t unreasonable. My bouquet was just a little higher than the average going rate.
The bottom line is they got the job done and my flowers were great. And they did it in record time too. I’d be willing to bet that a lot of florists might have just told me there wasn’t enough time to process my order (seriously, I gave them about two weeks), but they didn’t even bat an eyelash.
I’m sorry so many other people seem to have had a bad experience. Maybe they should try contacting Michelle!

In 2009 I used to work at a hotel and booked weddings into the hotel’s banquet space. Xavi visited me twice to ask me to tell brides about her business and to help her market her business. She was nice at first and from her persistence and goodness of my heart, I recommended them to several couples.
One couple booked her services from my recommendation and it ended up in disaster. Long story short, they were late and finished setting up 15 minutes before the wedding was supposed to begin and I had to run around like crazy trying to make up for the things they forgot to do/​bring just so the wedding would be able to start on time (usually florists are done setting up 2 hours, 1 hour at the bare minimum before a wedding). I was so frustrated and stressed out! So, I wrote a review stating the above on Unilocal.
Xavi called me the next day after I posted that first review and threatened ME to take off my review off of Unilocal!LITERALLY THREATENED ME that she would have me out of a job!!! When I told her I was busy and had to go, she kept calling me back at my office. Then, when I wouldn’t answer, she called the hotel’s general manager and screamed at him about my review on Unilocal.My boss told me to take off the review just so Xavi would stop harassing him! WOW… I mean wow…
I do not work at that hotel anymore and I am writing this review to warn couples to stay away from Xavi. I just really cant believe that after I helped her out she would go ballistic over a Unilocal review.

they had a booth at the pasadena bridal expo yesterday and had 3 – 5 girls to sell their company. I had been standing in the middle for 3 – 5 minutes and none of them even bothered to talk to me or cater to me about my questions while they were busy talking amongst themselves. POOR COSTUMER service is what they showed me. PLEASE THINK TWICE USING THIS COMPANY.

here is my awful experience with Xavi.
I had an appintment with Xavi for my wedding flower arrangement.
I waited, and there is no sign of anyone at her office.
so I called her on her cell. she said, she was around the corner and will be in the office in 3 minutes.
guess what??? SHE SHOWED UP 25 MIN LATE.
She has no respect for me as a client, she lied to my face when she said she was 3 mins behind schedule.
I don’t think I would give my business to someone who cant even show up on time to her own business.
What a liar!!!

I worked with Judith Jin on the designs of the flowers for my wedding. She was always so polite, friendly and enthusiastic about my consultations!
There was a slight hitch in communications around December, but I latter found out this was due to their servers going down and she more then made up for it once she got in touch with me again in January.
For my final consultation Judith brought a sample of my center piece and I was amazed at how beautiful it was. Needless to say on the day of the wedding I was excited to see them all… and they were TWICE as big as I originally remember seeing them! It felt like there were gorgeous blooms everywhere. Judith and the floral designer did an amazing job and everything was so pretty.
Even to today people are asking me for her contact information.

My flowers were pretty, but many of them were not what I had ordered or asked for. I also felt a little overcharged near the end, but that was partially my fault as I changed my centerpiece ideas. My final price was about $ 5000 more than my original estimate. But they did donate my flowers to a local hospital as requested which I felt was really thoughtful.

I used them for my wedding because they were listed on the Knot. They were over-​priced, most of the flowers did not show up, the ones that did were incorrect, and they are horrible at customer service.
Please protect your wedding or event and do not use them. This is based on my experience.
