I had called based on the great help reviews on Monday to set up an appointment for my husband who was suffering of a tooth ache. Luckily I was able to set up an appointment same day. The office is very friendly and kind. The appointment actually took place at the time which it was set up for which is great since at other places you need to sit and wait for so long! My husband got some x rays done and the problem was detected immediately. The procedure was fast and efficient. The doctor was very friendly and approachable which made things easier. Thier prices are comfotable and the service is great. Definitely recommend them!

I wish I could give Dr. Yu and his staff ten stars! This office is top notch, everything from the actual facility down to his hygienist and staff have been nothing short of amazing. I never post reviews, but felt inclined to do so after such a positive experience. Dr. Yu is not only a skilled professional, but also gentle, kind, caring, and an all around class act. He is honest and really great at making you feel comfortable. Working in the medical industry has definitely taught me to do my due diligence before choosing a health care provider, and honestly, I couldn’t be any more satisfied with Dr. Yu. Bummed that he is out-​of-​network with my insurance, but definitely not a deal breaker. He is worth every penny!

Highly recommend. Dr. Yu is very nice. He does not recommend treatment that not necessary. I went to other places, they told me I had gum disease and I needed extensive treatment for $ 2000. I went to dr. Yu, he said I only need deep clean. No cavity at all.
He is very gentle. I was afraid to visit dentist before. While doing deep clean, he kept checking to make sure I was ok.
The office is clean and neat. No cluster on the table. They even have massage chair. Staff is professional. His price is reasonable. You will not regret go with dr. Yu.
Make appointment ahead of time. He is fully booked month in advance.

I have never had such a pleasant dental visit in my life! Everyone in this office was kind, friendly and it felt genuine.
My visit was with Dr. Lee and she was perfect. I actually ran into her in parking lot and inside the building and she was kind, so it was a wonderful surprise when she turned out to be my dentist! It’s always nice knowing your doctor is a genuinely nice person outside the office too, and not putting on an act.
I also loved there was no up selling or telling me I needed work I didn’t. Two years ago I had a dentist do a bunch of work that wasn’t actually needed, and it cost me about 8k, and then I found out later they lied about processing my insurance and we’re just charging me whatever. So it’s wonderful knowing I can trust Dr. Lee to give me a truthful picture of my dental health. She is also very thorough with her exam and cleaning.
I never thought it would happen but I finally found an incredible dentist that I will definitely keep going back to.

I’ve had my teeth cleaned here twice. I just love this facility. It’s super clean and has all the latest gadgets (flat screens for patients by the ceilings, massage dental chairs [yup, I said massage dental chairs], x-​ray machines that don’t use those little films). I know many dentist offices are coming around and these amenities are becoming more common, but not only do I love the office, the people are great too! From start to finish for my appointment, everyone I dealt with was friendly and kind. I started my appointment with an exam by the dentist, then followed by my cleaning with a hygienist.
PARKING — if you plan on going in the morning, try to get one of the first appointments. I think anything around/​after 10 am, the parking lot gets really full as it’s located in a medical/​dental building with other businesses sharing the same lot.

For my elderly mom who chipped her front tooth two days before Christmas, I called Dr. Yu’s practice based on the Unilocal reviews. My mom had been going to another very established and expensive dentist for 13 years. Her previous dentist’s over the phone estimate based on her full dental X-​rays and records was exorbitant. At Dr. Yu’s practice, we were given a 30 minute consultation appointment the very next day as a new patient. Once Dr. Yu saw her tooth, he rearranged his schedule to treat the cavity that caused the chip and fill and match the enamel so that she would be saved from the discomfort of having to wait for the treatment appointment. After 50 minutes, she had her tooth fixed as if new. The entire experience from our first call to the completion of the treatment exceeded our expectations.

Dr. Yu and his staffs always provides excellent service and exceptional dental work. Been going here 3 years in a roll. And I always look forward to coming back.

Everyone at this office is so friendly. I can honestly say this was the literally the least painful and the most pleasurable dental experience I’ve ever had. I’ve now been to Dr. Yu’s office twice (once for my cleaning and once for a small filling) and both experiences were fantastic. There may be a little bit of a wait time in order to get into Dr. Yu’s practice, but it is well worth the wait! He and his staff are honest, friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and thorough! I couldn’t ask for anything more or be happier with my new dentist! I highly recommend this practice.

I’m not sure why this place has 5 stars. Absolutely horrible customer service. I moved to OC about 8 months ago and have been trying to get an appointment since. The lady who answered the phone today «Colleen» had nothing else to say other than they are booked though December! Really!!! Interesting when I’ve never even received a call back from March. Not a good way to run your business.

I highly recommend Dr. Sean Yu and his office! The cleaning technicians do a great job and are caring enough to be gentle where needed. Now in my 30s, I’ve been having issues with gum recession and Dr. Yu has nothing but my best interest in mind. He encouraged me to do my homework by getting multiple periodontal recommendations. He suggested I visit Dr. Kim and Dr. Jovanovic. I followed his advise and I’m super happy I did. Dr. Yu takes his time with his patients and is great at following up. He went out of his way for me and I’m 100% positive he does with all his patients. Thank you Dr. Yu for your GENUINE CARE!

Love this practice! Everyone is always so pleasant and makes the experience of getting dental work done less stressful. The staff is always joking with the patients.
I just had a implant finished up here and I am so happy with the results. :) going back for a crown soon.
I feel like they are honest and I have not had any problems with billing with my insurance.
Now to book that cleaning…

This was my first visit to the dental office of Dr. Sean Yu and Dr. Jamie Lee. My experiences with everyone employed in this office were 100% positive.
Colleen and Angel (in the front office) responded to my questions concerning my initial appointment (plus dental cleaning) and standard billing procedures. They were professional, friendly, efficient and courteous. They made me feel «at ease» the moment I walked through the front door. 5 stars to both of them for excellent customer service.
Within a matter of minutes, a dental technician calmly led me into a very clean and comfortable examination room. The examination room was spacious, bright, and airy; and filled with modern dental equipment. The dental technician took a series of dental x-​rays before notifying the dentist (Dr. Jamie Lee) that I was ready to be seen for my dental examination and dental cleaning. 5 stars to the dental technician for excellent attention to her job and to my overall comfort (as a new patient).
Dr. Lee reviewed my dental x-​rays and examined my teeth. She asked several questions about my past dental history, as well as the current health of my teeth. She was patient, professional, communicative, knowledgeable, and thoughtful; and she «listened» to my responses.
Then, Dr. Lee cleaned and polished my teeth. I did NOT feel any discomfort at any time. Seriously, I might as well have taken a nap in the examination room. Dr. Lee is very gentle and very dedicated to the care and comfort of her patients. 5 stars to Dr. Jamie Lee.
For all of the reasons stated above, I am a satisfied patient. From now on, Dr. Jamie Lee and Dr. Sean Yu will be my general dentists in Irvine. Thank you!

I’ve seen 4 different dentists in the last 6 years and Dr. Yu is the first dentist whom I felt was being completely honest with me. Here are some examples: (1) he did not try to up-​sell me; (2) he spotted a poorly installed crown which had always bothered me (prior dentist told me it was fine); and (3) he told me that I did not need certain procedures that other dentists swore up and down that I needed, saving me thousands of dollars. I really appreciate him. Just wish he wasn’t so darn popular. Have to schedule with him weeks in advance.

Dr. Yu is the best! He does not push treatments that are unnecessary. He is very personable and very pleasant. He treats you so nicely that you will feel guilty not flossing your teeth every night (NO ONE EVER MADE ME DO THAT). The fact that he have some Saturdays open is also perfect for me.
During my cleaning (yes, he does my cleaning too!), he would let you know ahead of time what he would do, would explain what it does, and would constantly check on how I’m doing. How amazing is that?! I’ve been to hygienist who will keep going despite the fact that I’m choking on my own blood and saliva already (gross, I know).
The little extra i pay for a DPO insurance is definitely worth it. I highly recommend him!

Top notch. I can’t say enough about Dr Yu and his staff. Greater dentist and a great experience.
Going to the dentist isn’t generally something that people enjoy, but the folks at Dr Yu’s make it as comfortable as possible.
I tried him for the first time a couple months ago and immediately booked him for a follow up in 6 months. Just note that his schedule gets booked quickly!

I went to Dr. Yu’s office after being advised from my previous dentist that I needed to get a crown replaced and recommended having 2 more done. I was surprised because I get all my regular dentist checkups done and do an extra cleaning on top of that. The dentist said the one crown I had was really old and cracking and needed to be replaced –he didn’t remember he did that one and had told me it would last a long time!!! He had done the crown in-​house. Grr… Besides that, I had problems with their billing and would be charged at the office after an appt or told I have a credit and then be re-​billed in the mail. I would send payment and then next appt be told I had a credit. I was frustrated with them and would call to get it fixed but billing issues still persisted. I was ready to look for a new dentist!
I saw a friend had written a review for Dr. Yu’s office and called to get a consult appt done. They did x-​rays and Dr. Yu said I only needed one crown to be re-​done. I had made the appt and it went great. I was on time for their appt and they seated me almost right away. They had the mold done of the tooth and the best part is that they were charging me just a little more than HALF what the other dentist was in their proposed treatment quote for just ONE crown. I appreciated that!!! Yay!!! Holy moly! The other dentist was charging over $ 800 for just 1 crown and said I needed 3. I am so happy I got another opinion!!!
The temporary crown worked great for the 2 weeks and I didn’t have any problems. It was an hour appt but I felt comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Yu was very gentle and let me know he was concerned if I felt any pain or discomfort to let him know and he would stop. I got through it all just fine. I was happy to finally get the work done and to have found a great office I feel I can trust with my dental care.
I just went back for my 2^nd appt to have the permanent crown put in and it was pretty quick! The crown looks natural and I’m very happy with it. I didn’t even think I needed a crown in the first place, but that’s another story from another dentist office… don’t get me started!
I used to go to my previous dentist 3 times a year for cleaning just because they said it would make cleanings easier and keep my teeth healthy but Dr. Yu said I really only need to go 2 times and I don’t have dental issues to require a 3^rd visit. I am very happy to have switched. Another bonus is that my dentist is not far from my work so appts don’t take very long.

I had a dentist I liked for years back in Costa Mesa, but they no longer took HMO. Went to a Bright Now location and had a horrible experience of selling me services and considering my cleaning an afterthought.
In comes a toothache and I finally went dental PPO at work and found Dr. Yu on Unilocal.And Unilocal for the win again!
Dr. Yu’s staff is super friendly from the front office staff to the hygienists and assistants taking the x-​rays. Luckily my toothache was sinus related and Dr. Yu got me on my way. I then came back to get a cleaning. There was literally no wait, Dr. Yu was honest about all my silver fillings being fine. He advised no need to replace with white composite (and get more $$) if my silver are fine since redoing fillings do take out a tad more tooth. I appreciated the honesty and in came Sara who was very thorough with my clean and polish. Literally everyone there is super sweet and genuinely cares about their patients.
I’m so glad I found Dr. Yu, I’d recommend him and his staff to anyone!

I came back recently to check up on a tooth that started to have increased sensitivity and thought may need a root canal. I finally was able to meet Dr. Yu and he is so nice and personable. He took some x-​rays, but didn’t even charge me a fee for consultation. I no longer have dental insurance so I appreciated this a great deal. In the end I didn’t need a root canal and appreciated his honesty.
Dr. Yu really is the best dentist I have ever had. He and his staff put the needs of their patients first and you never feel like you are being up sold or duped into treatments you don’t need. Everyone is so pleasant and has the best attitude. This is a dental practice that goes above and beyond, that is for sure.

Dr Yu has been my dentist for soooo many years. He is not only the best skilled dentist but the most generous, kind person I have ever met.
My husband hates going to the dentist to the point he ended up having a major problem. I sent him to Dr Yu. He came home and said Dr Yu was only dentist he would ever see in the future.
Just go see him. You would know what I’m talking about:)

Another dentist told me I should replace my crown. When she replaced it, the crown was uncomfortable and fell out three times. Dr. Yu fixed this and put in a crown that feels so comfortable (as they should), and told me that I probably didn’t even need to replace the crown in the first place.
