Specialties
Starbucks purchases and roasts high-quality whole bean coffees is very true. That’s the essence of what we do — but it hardly tells the whole story.
Our coffeehouses have become a beacon for coffee lovers everywhere. Why do they insist on Starbucks? Because they know they can count on genuine service, an inviting atmosphere and superb cup of expertly roasted and richly brewed coffee every time.
History
Established in 1971.

1980
Howard Schultz joins Starbucks in 1982. While on a business trip in Italy, he visits Milan’s famous espresso bars. Impressed with their popularity and culture, he sees their potential in Seattle. He’s right — after trying lattes and mochas, Seattle quickly becomes coffee-crazy.
1990
Starbucks expands beyond Seattle, the first to the rest of the United States, then the entire world. After becoming one of the first companies to offer stock options to its part-time employees, Starbucks becomes a publicly traded company.
2000
The Starbucks phenomenon continues. As of this writing, Starbucks has more than 15,000 locations in over 40 countries. Selling quality coffee, espresso, tea and frappuccino blended beverage
