Tacos On Point

We hired this company for my daughter’s wedding and the day was nearly ruined by their stupendous ineptness. They showed up to a walk-​thru with delicious tacos… carnitas, shredded beef, chicken breast. The day of we were served something nearly inedible. Ground something the was so over seasoned that several people left full plates. They were the lucky guests as the rest were given nothing at all as he was paid for 120 guests but brought food for about 40 people. The bride was crying, I was crying and my son-​in-​law was forced to run down the street with four trays of food from a local restaurant. I tracked him down after we ran out of food and he said that he was doing the best that he could while opening a CAN of beans mostly filled with water. No surprises dude you knew there were 120 people! DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!

Very disappointed in food and service. Will not use them again.

I am so bummed to give a low review. Tonight we had a dinner event with a tight schedule. I needed dinner to start at a specific time so I could keep our event on track. Unfortunately, the crew arrived 45 minutes late, which then left me with a room full of hungry people to stall and messed up my night. Luckily our entertainment hit a home run! However, I was a stress case for the remainder of the night. The food was also lackluster and they ran out of food. On the positive though, we did get a discount and sadly for them, no tip. For future, if you use them, because they are super nice. Tell them to arrive way earlier than needed just in case of any unforeseen occurrences.

Thank you for another successful party! Everyone loved the tacos. Jason and his staff was super nice to the kids too. Thanks again!

I am 100% unimpressed with this company. I went to a birthday party on Saturday where they came and catered and the food was absolutely HORRENDOUS!!! After arriving over an hour late to the party the following things took place. The food was super greasy, the salsa was from the local grocery store still in the container with the sticker, they threw the tortillas into an immense amount of oil on the burner quickly took them off and threw them on your plate. They were heating up meat and tortillas in a microwave. The rice was crusty and so were the beans. The word «crusty» and «Food» should never be one in the same. The employees looked like they hadn’t showered in days and were wearing sweatshirts and t shirts with stains all over them. A white apron over that would have been great!
I was so disappointed after all of this to hear that they charged my friend who threw the party 100% and only offered an apology and a % off on their next gig if booked again.
I am urging you. This was not even my party and I chose to write a Unilocal review! DO NOT BOOK THIS CATERER!

I recently hired Tacos on Point for a family birthday party and have to say they were some of the best tacos and people to work with. Jason arrived and quickly set up and was firing up tacos left and right. He mingled with the guest and kept their bellies full. His service and quality of food were great and will use again and highly recommend to anyone looking for good tacos and service. Thanks for the good time!

Tacos On Point has been my catering go-​to for so many of my events including birthday and company parties and I have always had a wonderful experience. I just always happen to work with Jason whose young appearance may deceive you. He’s very responsive, offers excellent food for extremely reasonable prices within budget. I always receive compliments of how tasty their food is. My party planners found them originally and based off of Unilocal reviews, we have never gone back. I think what I like the most is that they are very amenable and work around your needs. There are many taco guys out there, but tacos on point delivers like the big guys.

I hate giving such low reviews, but based on some previous reviews they still lacked good communication and time management. We asked for a set menu and it took days to respond. He came late to my niece’s birthday party and must include the fact that he needed to set up and prepare the meat so guests were waiting. We’ve booked plenty of other taco catering companies before and never had such a problem.

Trying for 5 days to get a hold of someone at this company, email, calling/​vm. No response.

Worst experience of my life. They were an hour and a half late microwave in hand for tortillas to be warmed extremely unprofessional and thankfully didn’t completely ruin the party. Still paid full price of $ 449 and had burnt hot dogs no beans and hard rice. Store bought salsa with labels still attached and looked like they just rolled out of bed. Please do not use them they are the worst !!!

I was looking for a taco guy to cater my wifes 40^th birthday. I had some other taco guys in the past and they had just regular bland carne asada and chicken some rice and beans. So I wanted something different something that would make the birthday party special not just regular old tacos. I found tacos on point and boy were they on point. I had Korean BBQ tacos some of the best chicken I’ve had in a long time and really really quality carne asada. Excellent home made Mango salsa not to mention all the staples of chips and rice and beans and guacamole they were fantastic. I highly recommend them. I was concerned about some of the reviews I saw but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and I’m glad I did. I’m about to call them to book another party, my birthday party and I want them there. They were great guys they showed up on the dot and as it was a surprise party they hook me up and showed up when they were supposed to and didn’t ruin the surprise. Definitely give these guys a go.

I booked TOP for my husband’s surprise birthday party and I have to admit I was first worried after reading some of these reviews. However, my experience was perfect. I emailed TOP for more information and Jason responded immediately. They gave me a great deal and I had to book them.
On the day of the event they arrived 15 minutes late, but it was because of an accident on the freeway and no this is not an excuse because all of our guests arrived late lol. The tacos were great and I love that the guests can decide between tacos, burritos, nachos and/​or quesadilas.
Now I’m planning my sister’s baby shower and when I asked her what she wanted for food she asked me if we can cater TOP. I contacted Jason and immediately he contacted me and remembered my husband’s event. He gave us the same great deal and even added some hot dogs :) I did let him know that some items ran out last time and he guaranteed that there will be more than enough flour tortillas and sides this time. I will definitely book them again the next time we have a party/​event and highly recommend them to others!

OMG so this review is loong over due. I booked TOP for my daughter’s 2^nd birthday party Dec 2012 and it by far the best part of the party. Their service was amazing and their food was the
. First off they were very professinal and looked the part. Setup was quick. Love them!

After reading the reviews, both good and bad, I figured I’d give them a chance. I called them on THREE occasions with no success.
The first attempt someone picked up and just answered «Hello?» Confused, I asked, «is this Tacos on Point?»
The guy responds with «oh yeah, this is. is this your cell phone number? Can I call you back in 5 minutes?» I waited all night and no one called. I figured, maybe they were doing a job and they became busy. No big deal.
So, I called them a few days later, no answer. I tried one last time a few days later, left a voicemail to please call back, and I have still yet to receive a phone call. I even tried to e-​mail them and guess what? Their contact us function on their website doesn’t work.
Are these people still in business!!!
I was willing to look past some of the negative reviews since they had some good ones, and I was interested in having both Mexican and Korean fusion food for my party. But seeing how hard it is to communicate with them, I’m not so sure. Maybe I should look for some one else. Does any one have any recommendations?

**UPDATED REVIEW** As you can see from my previous reviews you know that the business owner Mike contacted me in an attempt to rectify the situation. Well his attempt was successful, I used them this past Saturday for my 35^th birthday celebration, and not only did they arrive promptly on time, all the food was delicious, staff was VERY courteous, and my guests were very enamored with the flavor of the food. I will from now on ALWAYS use Tacos On Point for any future events I host and I will be most DEFINITELY be recommending them to all my family, friends, & co-​workers.

I was unable to contact them on few different days. His vm was off and I called within noon/​afternoon each time. If you want business, communication is a big start. Pick up your phone.

My girlfriend had her babyshower just recently and it was catered by Tacos On Point.
The service was attentive and efficient. More importantly, the food was delicious. Their bacon wrapped hotdogs, carne asada, al pastor and chicken were winners with everyone it seemed.
Everytime I came back to the grill, i couldn’t decide what to get because all their goods were quite tasty and just left you wanting more. And I did have more, too many more I’d even say. I love the teeny corn tortillas cause it made me feel less guilty about the carbload haha. I’d rather allot my carbs towards dessert if you know what I mean. And yes I could have gone totally tortilla-​less, but c’mon where’s the fun in that?

The short rib tacos were FANTASTIC, the al pastor was flavored well, the chicken was amazing! The quesadillas were too bomb & the bacon wrapped hotdogs were to die for!
Everyone at our party wanted to hire them for their next event! I cant tell you enough how professional they were! Their service was fast & they were extremely polite! Mike thank you so much for being a huge part of Avas bday, to Jason & the crew you guys were definitely an A+ I know that it was hot but thank you so much for your service! My family and I are very thankful for it!

I’ve used a ton of different taco people for parties over the years! Let me say, these have been the best so far! They were professional, clean, and the food was excellent! I’ve already referred 2 of my friends to them for upcoming parties and intend to use them for every party I throw in the future! Not greasy extremely flavorful and generous! I even had to add 25 more people to feed the day before the party and they had no problem doing it! My party was great the food smelled and tasted great and they cleaned up and packaged all the left overs for me!!(not that there was much left) these guys are a must use! If u want people to talk about your parties food –in a good way ;) the name is fitting! These guys and their tacos are ON POINT!!!

Had them cater for my daughters 2^nd birthday (Jan 2014) and although they don’t normally cater for a smaller party (20ish) people, they were willing to do it since they just catered for my best friend’s party earlier in the month. My friends are still raving about the tacos and boasting about how many they each ate!
They were really delicious and the price was reasonable. The rice looked pretty plain but was SO yummy. Loved the selection of meats, salsas and providing chips too. It was totally worth paying to not have to cook, clean and serve. Set up everything via text with Mike, super easy to pay over the phone too.
Only uncertain parts were that they agreed to come 1130am-​230pm but noticed they left at 130. Later my friend who they catered for said that they only come for 2 hours but I didn’t know that. Also my friend said they can make nachos and quesadillas and not just tacos but my guests and I didn’t know that either until we asked for it. Maybe they could have labels for food and a label at the grill with the choices typed out? Regardless, I think everyone ate their full and they left some leftover tacos too.
I’m looking forward to hiring them again!
