My gf and I came here on Saturday to check out what the kids are listening to these days! Yep, if you find yourself in hibernation for about 6 – 9 months and wanna know what kids are listening to on the radio, go here, have a beer and kettle corn, and listen to some top 40 acts. Tickets were a bit pricey, starting at around 40, and they each include a $ 6 parking fee, which sometimes doesn’t make sense if you’re going with a group. They should just charge parking when you get there. Seriously, it reminded me of the MTV VMAs on the road. Listened to about 10 acts, each with 3 – 10 songs in their set depending on popularity. Kevin Rudolf had a whopping 3 while Kelly Clarkson sang 7 or 8 of her hits. We sat in the reserved seating all the way back, but the speakers piped in the sound really well. We were in section 13, last row, so you can see the jumbotrons, but definitely bring binoculars which helped us. If you’re expecting a mind-blasting performance from U2 or a rivoting day of music like at Bridge Street, this may not be for you. This is just your good ol Top 40. But, the one consolation is that they played their top hits, so you pretty much followed along with the groups. Biggest pops: Flo’ Rida, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, Soulja Boy, All-American Rejects, Lady Gaga(with her Pokerface) When you get there, there’s a walk up a hill to get to the seats and lawn. Major incline, reminded me of walking up Nob Hill .So if you take your lady friends, tell them to wear heels at their own risk. If there’s an act next year we wanna see, we’d probably come here again. But regardless, this concert served its purpose as an early kickstart the Irvine summer!

3.5 stars A friend and I brought our teens here last night. We figured since they really wanted to see several of the acts, we were being cost efficient by not going to each of their concerts and letting KIIS wrap it up into a nice package. KIIS knows how to do things… each act was short and sweet, the stage revolved and there wasn’t a long time to wait between performances. BUT… the little time there was they filled it with a lot of commercials which was pretty lame. I took off a star for that. The acts themselves were pretty bland, even Snoop Dogg toned it down for the immature audience. Overall, a good experience but not«Oh My God!!! Guess where I went last night», fabulous.
