Discount Tire Store – Irving, TX

Erik Bauer helped me out with my tire rotation. I have oversized tires on my truck and he managed the service well by having them check the balance on all my tires. They were moderately busy and I was in and out in under 45 minutes. The past reviews DO NOT reflect the current quality of service they’re providing. They were out of coffee even and I immediately got more. The little details are really what makes the experience in customer service.

Went in to get my Tires Rotated. Employee, Oscar Lira said it would be 30 – 45 minutes so I agreed to wait it out. 1 ½ hours later an Elderly Lady in her 80’s came in. The Lady was helped by Oscar Lira as well, However… The Lady asked how Long it would take, because the air condition in the Store was not working and she couldn’t handle 2-​hours in the heat. Oscar replied with «45 Minutes». I said, I’ve been her now 1 ½ hours. Oscar Lira looked at the Lady and said «Ma’am, He is Lying to You». 10 minutes later I finally got my car back. I felt so sorry for the Lady. Just Tell People the Truth! People appreciate that a lot more. Also, don’t call another Customer a Liar! I almost had him pull up my ticket and show her too.

I pulled in to remove the nail.
The service here did not fail.
When I need new tires they will get the sale.

Less than 45 min, gratis repair & I’m gone!

I called them to inquire about the tires I ordered only to be told that they had been in but weren’t checked in yet. Ok. Fine. Then my car sat parked for twenty minutes unlocked after they finished installing them. I know it was at least twenty minutes because I saw my car in the service dock prior. So I got in line to inquire why no one let me know my car was ready and they let the guy behind me jump ahead just because he ran up to the counter. I felt invisible and not attended to. They were apologetic but I can’t let it go. I doubt I’ll be back.

This store was efficient, courteous and very professional. I had a nail in my tire and they repaired it for free. Very busy place. The staff gets 5 stars!
When I need new tires, I’m going to this store. *winking*

So last year my husband went and got 4 new tires for our car and spent the extra money for Certificates for Repair, Refund or Replacement so if something happened we didn’t have to buy a new tire. Fast forward a year to April of this year and my husband took the car to get the tires balanced and rotated. At that point he was informed that the 2 front tires were already bad and they wouldn’t replace them because they said we already passed the 50,000 mile warranty. And knowing they were bad tires refused to rotate them with the back tires. My husband came home and told me what happened to which I immediately called bs on.(see my 2004 car has 76,000 total at this point). Luckily our mechanic puts the mileage on our inspection sticker which was almost a yr old also. So my husband wasted the gas and made another trip back to prove they screwed up and then they refused to replace the tires because they claimed there must be something wrong with my car. I later filled out a survey stating how upset I was and they made 1 half assed attempt to call then gave up. I have not been back since and when my tire finally does go I will buy my next tire at a place where we get treated right and they don’t have a bunch of retards working. I would have written then sooner but recently found out about Unilocal

I love Discount Tire. I’m not a tire afficianado, I just need tires to go from A to B on I-​30 or 360 or ¹⁸³⁄₁₂₁.
I’ve been a customer since 2000, and the staff is always professional. If I say I’m on a budget, they don’t try to upsell, they just get me what I need when I need it. When they had to order a rim for me, they loaned me one, and once my rim was in, they let me keep the loaner so now I have a full size spare instead of a donut.
I have a Discount Tire credit card, but they still don’t upsell or pressure sell. You can come in for just a look at your tires and they will help.
Also, all the guys are nice to look at. :)

I wish I could put negative stars. I went there to get a tire repaired that had a slow leak. Not only did they pull the wrong tire off, but they proceeded to tell me they couldn’t remount that tire because it had tread damage. Yet that wasn’t the tire with the leak. Then told me they didn’t have one in stock, so they could only put my spare tire on. And at this point they still hadn’t even started on what I came in for. I’ve been a loyal discount tire customer, but never again will they get my money. And I will NOT recommend them to anyone. Also, I had one guy tell me that I needed to replace my tires ASAP, and another tell me they were Between the green and yellow. I’ll just say that saving a couple dollars is not worth the hassle and the headache that discount tire have me.

I needed to get my tires rotated so I went to the Discount Tire in Irving near the Spring Creek BBQ. The person who helped me was very professional and nice. I found out the guy who helped me, Marc, was the store manager. He told me it would be about 45 minutes. 30 minutes later Sam came out to tell me my car was ready. He was also very professional and nice (especially for someone working in car place). I’d feel comfortable recommending my mother or girlfriend to this place, especially after today’s experience. 08-​27-​2013

I had a really bad experience here. I had bought 4 new tires and a while later one of the tires had blown out. The issue is when I went to change the tire some of the lug nuts I could remove with my fingers after a single turn of the tire iron. I had told the guy who had sold me the tires this was the family vehicle which makes matters worse.
They also did not fill the air in my tires to the appropriate level which I had assumed they had. This hurt my gas mileage. My family and I are no longer going to this location and will try some other with hopefully better results.

Discount Tire is a necessary evil… You never want to go, but when you do, you get good, friendly, and quick service.
I got all 4 tires replaced at this location, and it took them about an hour or so, even though they were swamped. Now I can go to any location every 6000 miles to get free tire rotations and every 12,000 miles to get free balancing. Add to that, they’ll repair flat tires for free (even if you didn’t buy the tire from them).
So yeah, I’ll be back, and I won’t like it, but at least it won’t be painful.
