DoubleTree DFW Airport North

Not sure why this hotel doesn’t have more stars. It was great for us, super easy check in with friendly staff. The room was clean, comfy bed and looked to be recently updated. The staff at the restaurant was friendly & food was good. We would totally stay here again when traveling to & from DFW!

This is not what I have come to expect from a double tree!

Horrible service! Put me on hold at airport for 15 min to get my info for shuttle and I finally hung up to call back and they didn’t even pick up. I spend $ 40 on a cab and then I get there and took an hour to checkin because as she’s checking me in the phone rang 20 times and she serviced all those customers instead. Horribly understaffed. Screw the double tree. cookies I’d rather just get good service.

I just checked out of this hotel this morning after a 3 night stay with my family. I gave this hotel a 2 star only because the staff was great, the breakfast buffet was decent and their signature cookie was good everything else was not up to par. I had upgraded our room to «Executive Level» not knowing that the Executive Lounge was closed until we went to check-​in. They’re currently doing renovations on this hotel and it looks like a construction zone. Maybe after they’re done with remodeling this place I would recommend but right now if you’re trying to stay multiple nights I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I missed my connecting flight and had to stay at dfw overnight. American airlines gave us a free voucher for Wyndham, but I decided to pay and stay at a Hilton instead.
I called to have the shuttle pick me up from the airport at 11 pm Friday night. The lady on the phone was totally rude and unhelpful. The driver came about 15 minutes later.
The hotel and room is clean. There’s a constant buzzing noise coming from the vent, even with all heating and air set to «off». The shower also didn’t work, so unless you like baths, no way to wash up.

Why didn’t I read the reviews??? The others were dead on. I’ve stayed in several Double Trees and relied on Hilton as a brand to have consistency and integrity. Like another reviewer said, you pay for a good nights sleep, so if you don’t get that, it’s not money well spent. This is a MOTEL… not a hotel. Paper thin walls… bad odor, which could be remediated if they cleared the inch think dust out of the intake… BLACK MOLD on the ceiling, clear to be seen and has been there a while as its thick. This is a serious lapse in health safety for guests. Staff on check in and check out was nice, which warrants the one star. Maybe they thought Hilton was better too? Failure in leadership at this location and with Hilton in general. I will not stay here again and there are many good hotel options around that make staying here irrelevant.

Somewhat disappointed given this is a double tree. Room smelly and seems more like a motel environment. Staff was great and bed was comfortable.

Doubletree hotels normally provide a fantastic experience. This one is different. This is the worst Doubletree I have stayed in by a large margin. It should not be called a Doubletree Hotel.
There is no acoustic insulation in the walls. I was going to complain about the family next to me keeping me awake, until I realized they were speaking in reasonable voices.
Good hotels have HVAC units that are silent. Bad hotels have noisy ones that wake you up throughout the night as they cycle on and off. This hotel’s HVAC unit is so bad I turned it off well before I got in bed. Also, there is no setting for constant-​on for the HVAC fan to drown out that family next door. I had to put my noise cancelling headphones on to get sleep.
I have Hilton Hhonors diamond elite status, so I had breakfast in the Hhonors lounge on the 7^th/​8^th floor. What is the point when the breakfast is the same as I could get at a Hampton Inn?
Two mornings in a row and no cups for the in-​room coffee maker. I tipped the housekeeping, why can’t I have a coffee cup?!
The room is dark and every bulb emits a different color light [once it warms up]. This is the «whatever is on clearance» lighting plan.
The bathroom countertop area is TINY. I don’t know where you can put your stuff.

Nice comfy hotel. It’s a lil out dated but I like the homely feel. It’s clean and very nice guest service. The bathroom is small but the room was a good size and bed was amazing… I slept Great! The food was pretty good and prices were OK.

Doubletree hotels are at the top of my list anytime I am traveling… however this one is by far one I am certainly not used to.
Rusty tub that doesn’t drain, popcorn ceilings, everything is out.dated. The sink fixtures are silver fake plastic that are about to fall off. Musty wet smell, nicks on walls/​furniture/​hallways. Called room service for hot chocolate on a cold rainy night and they are out of hot chocolate… fine. I go to the vending machine it is $ 3.50 for a water bottle and they are sold out. Lastly, cable is super super slow and remote barely works.
Service is super nice but the room conditions are just not up to par. If this is important to you and a restful nights sleep… I would go elsewhere.
Cookies delicious as always though :)

A bit pricey for a Days INN/​Comfort INN/​Motel 6 room. $ 152 (corp disc.)
Outdated room. Popcorn ceiling that had cracks in the wall and peeling ceiling (room 323). It was clean, but the a/​c was loud and cycled constantly to maintain 72*.
Not greeted as a HHonors guest, and no honors level room, nothing.
We had 2 days of meetings here at the hotel. Food was LOUSY… period! Coffee was undrinkable. Carpets and furniture were WELL worn.
If I HAD to stay here again due to Corp. policy I will, but if given a choice I will stay elsewhere, where my money has a better value.

Landed an hour ago and called for their «complimentary shuttle.» they said they will be here in 10 minutes. Still not here. Called multiple times and just put on hold. Last thing you want after a day of traveling. They told us exactly where to go and we’ve been waiting here.
There have been a lot of other hotel shuttles drive by, so there is hope with other chains.

I decided to just walk in to get a tour of the space here. Luckily they took us in immediately, and we did not have to wait or come back another day. This venue is a little out dated and from the sales and catering manager, it doesn’t seem like they cater to a lot of wedding parties here, it’s mainly for birthday or anniversary parties. However, the staff is very friendly here, and we got some of their delicious cookies on our way out!

Room 423 has a constant vibration. Noisy air conditioner also. You pay for sleep at hotels and I didn’t get any at this hotel. Stay somewhere else.
Good news — it’s close to airport.

room was outdated. popcorn ceilings and a HVAC that sounded like it came out of a 737. free parking was nice. bathtub also ha a broken drain.
The Hilton Honors room is nice but a bit hard to find. great selection of cheese and crackers. That was unepectedly nice

Yikes! I’ve never worked with a hotel staff more inept. If you work at an airport property you should know how at a minimum your airport rental car transportation functions. So not the case at this property. After waiting over an hour & a half for the shuttle to pick me up I ubered back to the hotel. If you work at an airport property you should at a minimum understand how to airport transportation works.
Thank god for Über otherwise I’d still he sitting alone waiting for the van that you clearly never dispatched to come & pick me up.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past year. It is so odd because a few have been good stays but most not so good. I was excited to hear of new management/​ownership but changes are not happening fast enough.
I had a reservation for ⁶⁄₁. I knew I’d be checking in late so I did so online… Floor 6. Take it from the current/​soon to be former Duke… If you don’t get floors 6 – 8 you might as well feel like you’re in a cheap Motel 6 and not a Hilton Brand Double Tree. I was shocked to learn that I was assigned floor 2. It being after midnight I expressed my displeasure but headed to room 236.
Upon arrival I noticed the AC was not working. I’m the guy who needs to sleep with the noise if a fan so I attempted to call the front desk. That’s when I learned the phone in 236 didn’t work. Packed up and went back to the desk.
Next room assignment was down the hall that had carpet that resembled an old fraternity house. I swear the cleaning crew forgot to clean this one. Room 230. Crumbs on the floor and crumbs on one if the beds. Really? On top of that the alarm clock didn’t work! Yea for the AC working but the fan wouldn’t stay on.
So much for being a Diamond Honors Member… It doesn’t even get me onto one of three Hilton Honors floors nor did it get me a greeting upon check in. One to many bad experiences has driven me to other options… Most likely outside the Hilton Brand. They do get 2 stars because the price is affordable (perhaps you get what you pay for) and if you get the right floor you might just get a clean room in working condition.

I do want to say the hhonors app for android is horrible. While it said «on line check in» was available for this hotel — it always failed. Really frustrating.
This is a hotel that could be great — but is not. Rooms are «ok» (nothing spectacular) and the restaurant is awful. Do not eat here. I tried to get room service but no one would answer the phone.
I knew I was in trouble when I checked in. Very nice front desk people and the check-​in was efficient. Recognized me as hhonors and thanked me. However, my prize — two bottles of water and a cookie were handed to me with no bag. I now had all my luggage and that to haul to the room. Very nice gesture but try to maneuver all of that. It is the little things that count.
As I said, room was OK, TV was too small and had real big latency changing channels. Channel surfing would be impossible.
Coffee make was typical hotel coffee maker — same thing you get in motel 6 and the bathroom was small.
Bottom line: hotel is OK. if you get a screaming deal on the rates this would be good but for normal business travel I would skip it and go to the Westin across the street.

Our flight was rebooked for the next day due to extreme icy weather. I looked online for a place to stay for the night. I checked the reviews before booking and the reviews for this hotel was kinda ok. So I booked it and lower my expectations but still crossing my fingers that it will be a good place to stay after a tiring 3weeks in TX for business.
I was so surprised when we checked in. The customer service was so great they even gave us freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and bottled water to take in our room. Aside from that we are so amazed going in our room. So clean and classy just like what I expect Hilton Hotels should be. Furnitures looks great. Room comes with microwave, coffee maker and a mini fridge too. The bed was amazing and so as the shower.
The following day a shuttle dropped us off to the airport for our flight. I will definitely come back. I fell in love with this place. One of the hotels I will definitely look forward to staying again.

Stayed here for two days during some corporate training (not at the hotel.)
They managed to accommodate the following requirements: feather-​free room, away from elevator/​ice machines, king bed, top floor.
No problems with the room — it was clean and comfortable.
Ordered room service — it was prompt, tasty, and delivered by a friendly staffer.
They also accommodated a request to shuttle a group of about 15 of us to dinner and back so that we could all enjoy a beverage and not have to worry about transportation.
I would stay here again.
