Takes forever to get service. Poor service at that. They try to up-​sale you on various filters and services. They don’t know how to reset the Check Oil light. Left my glove box a mess after checking the cabin air filter AND left greasy, dirty finger print smudges on my glove box. Then when checking out they go down the list of what they supposedly did including washing the Windows. No one EVER touched or cleaned the Windows. When I told him that no one washed the Windows he just said «well I’m just reading what’s on the screen». Really???

Why is it so hard to find a good lube and tune around here? I came in for an oil change today and after realizing they didn’t do most of the things on the receipt checklist, I hope they actually changed my oil.
My first issue is that it took over an hour for an oil change and it wasn’t even that busy. The employees have that mostly-​dead-​inside character about them so it wasn’t particularly welcoming.
After the first 45 minutes of my wait, one of the guys comes and fetches me so they can go over the usual pricey recommendations for service my car nor wallet need right immediately. I agreed to the air filter because I knew it really did need a new one and I anticipated having to pay for one. They also suggested new wipers which I told the guy was ridiculous since I just got my recent set a few months ago at a different Kwik Kar location. Even if I did need new ones, the last place I’m getting them is at mechanic shop because my current set are total pieces of shit. Never shall I ever again get new blades at a Kwik Kar.
After they finally finish and I leave, that’s when I notice that nothing on the checklist had been done. The receipt indicated they had cleaned my windows. Nope, same bird shit and dirt horizon on the glass. The receipt said they filled my tires with air to 30 psi which is nonsense. 30 psi is too low for my tires, plus I just filled all four tires the other day so for them to need to be filled to 30 psi at all would indicate I have four flat tires. I also noticed that the item for interior vacuum had been noted as «not completed». Wtf? Why not? I saw other people get their cars cleaned out. Half the reason I even get my oil changed is so I can at least get my front floor area sucked clean of debris. Every other oil change place in the history of my oil changes has done this. I was super disappointed. I also notice at this point that my car is actually now dirtier on the inside than it was before as the driver side interior door panel has grease smears all over it.
Basically, don’t go here. I only gave the place two stars because I was able to utilize the $ 10 Unilocal coupon. I will continue my search for a place that doesn’t half ass everything.

I have been coming here for years and love it! The employees are always very friendly and helpful. One time I came in for an oil change based on the date of my last one but they told me I didn’t need one based on my mileage. Imagine that, a car repair place telling me I didn’t need a service!!!

Quick service, friendly crew. I didnt know lube shops did mechanical work but i brought my moms car here for brakes & they gave me a low price for the highest quality breks & had my car out in a hour. The next time i came for my oil change I recieved the same great quick service & I didn’t feel like they pressured me to buy anything & they still informed me on what I should do to keep my car in great running condition. I’ve been to numerous lube shops around the area & I’d have to say if you want great work & quick reliable service this Kwik kar is the shop to go to.

Uncaring management and a poorly managed work force.
I visited this location somewhat recently and was extremely disappointed by the poor service that I received. After thoroughly researching options in the area, I went to this location because it was highly rated and had a «deal.»
When I arrived, I was greeted and I told them what oil I needed and my filter requirements. As I sat in the shop waiting for my car, I heard one of the employees say «Dude, you broke it» (or something very similar). As I had no context, I disregarded it. 15 minutes later an employee came to me and explained they were out of my oil filters and could not do the job.
While I was annoyed that this was the case (especially considering that they could have told me this up front), I accepted it and went to another location.
At this point, the story gets interesting. The next location told me that the oil pan screw that one must unscrew to release the old oil was bent and broken. NOW the comment made since. That «dude» had broken the screw on my oil pan. For liability reasons, the oil changing place I was at (Valvoline Instant — also in the area and they do a great job), could not change it.
I went back to Kwik Kar and spoke to the manager. He talked to his employee, came back and stated that his employee had broken it. As I was in a position where I needed his help to remove the screw, I did not push him to apologize. I did ask him to fix the problem which he did somewhat begrudgingly (and slow I may add). He had his mechanics correct the issue and I was ready to leave. He did not apologize one time nor admit failure on his employees part. He was stone faced and somewhat rude, but in the end did the right thing.
This type of experience is why so many people are fearful of getting their car taken in to a shop — no ownership of mistakes and shady business practices. I would not suggest this location.

I have been here two times for repairs that should not have taken long. First time i waited four hours. The second time took two hours. I will not be back.

Really appreciate how they clean your windows and vacuum your car when you go there. They did a great job. Very quick! Great prices. Friendly people.

I went there since I had heard great reviews about this place! I didn’t know what was wrong with my brakes so they checked it for me and did a great job. My brakes work fine now.
The owner was really nice as well and came down to visit since I had given a call before I stopped by. I totally recommend this place to people.

I’ve been coming here over 1 year and loved the service but today walked in and there was a man dressed in work out clothes and I had to ask him do you work here? He was the NEW owner. Then I notice all the old employees were gone too! It’s under new owner and new workers. He put up a new sign with no prices! I ask how much a synthetic oil change and transmission oil change is and he didn’t know off the top of his head! Well if you had your prices printed out then we wouldn’t have problem. Then a older lady was outside and her dress blew up and everyone saw her underwear and the owner and a costumer was cracking jokes about her! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Other people were coming in asking for services and the price for them and the owner couldn’t answer any of them. If your going to own a business KNOW YOUR SHIT! Plus his prices are higher then the old owners! Old owners said they would charge me 186.00 for synthetic oil change and transmission oil change and new owner charged me 194.00! Not happy and I won’t be coming back!!!

BEST car maintenance (or automotive shop for that matter) that I’ve EVER experienced. No one else even comes close!
There is an employee named Connelly, he seems to be a manager who usually answers the phone, and he is INCREDIBLE. I can’t even praise him enough. I came to them because I felt my steering was off; long story short, he found an issue with my tire and put air in it for free so i could get safely to so a specialist somewhere.
In addition to that, the front of my car had bottomed out. Fixed on the spot for FREE. Their take was: it’ll only take a second, why not fix it real quick?
They also diagnosed an issue with my engine, which at the time was smoking here and there after I turned off my car. Again, all out of goodwill and concern for safety. Giving me their full time and attention at no cost to me.
Again, can’t speak highly enough. I will always go to them for any and all needs. I feel indebted to them!

I think this has the best group of people at any Kwik Kar I’ve been too!
I had my car towed in because of a flat tire, they discovered my control arm was damaged. It was close to closing time, but they made it happen, knowing I had come a distance to be in Irving.
They were congenial, polite, and very thorough, they explained each process thoroughly showed me what was damaged, and why it was essential to have it fixed, they even stay post close of business to get it done immediately. Thomas, Ray and the team did great.
The manager ordered a replacement piece, and had everything done by 7 pm. They put in their genuine time to fix the vehicle versus, keep it on hand and maybe make a buck or two more. I appreciate their patience and support
An honest and a humble team, they understand their customer needs and do their best to provide the best service. The Kwik Kar in frisco, didn’t even install my windshield wipers correctly. They came flying off.

Went there on my lunch break to get a quick oil change. I always go to the dealership because I feel better but time did not permit this time. Pulled up, no wait, was out in 15 minutes. Cleaned windows and vacuumed car as well. They were friendly, waiting area was clean and I’d definitely go back.

I just moved to Texas from out of state and they walked me through the process of how to register my car. I just got an oil change this time and they were very friendly, honest & fast! I will definitely go back here.

I needed an oil change before a big trip and used Unilocal to find this place. I used to go to Jiffy Lube in the past — but there aren’t any around here! Anyhow I am happy to have found this place close to home. I went in after work on a Thursday and they took me immediately. Probably the fastest oil change I’ve ever had! The went over other recommended service items, some of which I knew had been taken care of earlier this year. I had them flush the … something. I forget. I should probably know this stuff, being a guy. Anyhow, they accepted my first-​time $ 10 off check-​in via Unilocal with no problem and were very friendly. Also — check out the bathroom — it looks like something that belongs in a fancy hotel and not a car repair joint! Also — free wi-​fi in the waiting area! Score! I’ll be back!

I was pretty disappointed with this whole experience. The owner acted like he had no idea that there was a $ 10 off discount on Unilocal and said, «never heard of it.» The comment below says they experienced the same exact thing. Then when I showed him on my phone he asked if i had printed it out. NO… its on Unilocal and specifically says «show this to the owner or employee to redeem your discount». He was just trying to be a jerk about it. If you dont want to give a $ 10 discount then dont advertise it. Simple as that. He was rude and talked down to me like I was some idiot. Never going there ever again.

I had to dock one star for one reason only– the owner had no clue as to what Unilocal check in offer they had going. He didn’t know what Unilocal was and what checking in meant. Kinda felt bad for him in a way bc I didn’t want him to feel like I was there to smooch off his services or anything. So I explained it and showed him it was legit and he honored it for me. But the confusion should really be sorted out.
Anyways, so I had a great experience here. I only needed an oil change done but they did a full inspection as well and did find some problems like my fairly new battery from O’Reily’s was at marginal performance– not a happy camper about that. Owner was so nice and not only did he only honor the check in offer but also gave me mail in rebates for some of the stuff I had to have done so I saved about $ 50 total. Most places probably dupe girls on what they can and these guys were completely different, more of on the lookout for me which was very much appreciated. They definitely win my business for the future. Thank you fellow Unilocalers for guiding me to Kwik Kar!

Not a bad place, the people were really nice, my oil change and air filter change (that they totally did an up sale on me) took about 45 mins bc it was so busy. It was 9:30 on a Monday.
Mine was $ 49 total and I used the $ 10 off with your first check in with Unilocal which was really cool!
They have really nice couches for you to sit on and I guess some people could get mad about the additional products they try to sell you, but tis the way of mechanics! And it’s really your fault for allowing it if you’re a push over or don’t want to take care of your car.

I took my car here for a state inspection and the inspector on duty did not know how to run an inspection on my car a Mazda RX8. hooked it up to the machine wrong and caused my «Check engine light» to go off.
No one including the owner wanted to take responsibility and played dumb. I ended up taking my car to the Mazda Dealer to get my inspection and the technician told me that they indeed used the wrong connector for my car which damaged an electrical component.
Thank God that the the repair was covered under warranty.
NEVER AGAIN!!!
