DONOTHIRETHESEPEOPLE! As Nikki said, better off packing your things on a Uhaul and moving them yourself than pay these idiots your hard earned money. My husband and I moved from TX to Southern California and went with a company called Lucy Van Lines, a trucking company based in Irving Texas, who sub-contracted Priority 1 movers to deliver to CA. We were moving from a small condo and did not have much furniture for the move. We shopped around quite a bit and made sure to itemize everything for the move so we can get the most accurate quote. We also made sure to tell the companies that we live in a condo on the second floor unit, so as to avoid any hidden charges for«long carry.» We were initially given a quote of $ 2300, which was far more reasonable than other competitors, so we booked them. On the day of the move, the movers arrived late, and the guy in charge told us that we had far more things than anticipated and therefore we were going to be charged a total of $ 4,000! Almost double the initial quote we were given! At that point we were at their mercy and had no other choice but to say«ok,» since we were scheduled to vacate the condo that same week. We were told average interstate delivery time would be 3 – 14 business days. It has been close to 25 business days and our things have yet to make it to California. We have been calling Priority 1 for an update as to when our things are expected to arrive so either my husband or I can take time off from work to receive the shipment. We have talked to a gentleman named«Ben» multiple times– and he is the most unprofessional and useless customer service representative ever. He said that our things are en route and gave us the driver’s name and contact information. We have been calling the driver for over a week now with no response! We have left numerous messages and have tried to get in contact with a manager from Priority 1 with no success. Our concern was #1– is the driver ok? Did he get into a car accident and no one knows??? Or #2– did the driver take off with all of our belongings? We are giving them one more week to get our things here — or we are going into arbitration or file a legal complaint. These people make me sick. So do yourself a favor and stay FAR, FAR away from Lucy Van Lines and Priority 1 Movers!
