Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas

I liked this hotel a lot. Went there this past weekend and it was pretty quiet there. The valet staff was on point and retrieved our vehicle quickly. Countess at the front desk was very friendly and nice. She also had a great sense of humor especially telling us about the bar. The hotel décor is nice, the rooms were very clean and nice. The beds were comfortable and had plenty pillows. The bathrooms are large with small tub and shower. We were on the 27^th floor with a great view of a lake, I think it was Lake Caroline or Carolyn. Please forgive me if I’m wrong. My husband said they had a gondola there but I think it’s available in warmer weather. The bar had some A1 margaritas and a good drink called the champagne cobbler. All the staff was friendly and I will return to this hotel.

The Omni overbooks its rooms a lot, so even if you have a reservation, you may not have a room when you checkin!
I arrived at the hotel at midnight after a delayed flight and the hotel had already given away my room. The proposed solution was to put me in a hotel 40 minutes away, even though my meetings were taking place at the Omni the next morning. By the way, I had confirmed reservation for that night. They really should reach out to guests who have not checked in if they don’t have a room for them… The front desk manager was a robot who just repeated «we do not have a room» and offered zero customer service.
After talking to front desk attendant and guest, apparently this happens a lot at this hotel so beware!

Nice accommodations for a work meeting.
A team meeting of about 200 people brought me to this hotel. The rooms were comfortable but could use some work. For instance, the toilette ran very load and made a loud screetch for at least 20 seconds at each flush. Also, the shower would take several minutes to get hot.
Also to note that there is currently construction on the other side of Lake Carolyn (and all over Irving and Las Colinas) so the views are not so nice at the moment.
This hotel exceled at customer service and they addressed all issues I had, which happened to be in the middle of the night (no iphone charger, needed water, etc).

— Location — centrally located between DFW and Love
— Strong internet in the hotel room
— very comfortable bed
— sizeable bathrooms
— free newspaper delivered to your door
— tasty room service
— free water (upon request)
Cons:
— weak internet in the conference center
— bathroom shower and toilette should be updated
Conclusion: A good place to stay, not far from the airport with good food inside the hotel.

I guess it a nice hotel and all. But I still have a problem when high end hotels nickel and dime you to death. I mean really $ 10 a night for Internet. They aren’t the only chain that does it but I’ve stayed in 3 stars where they would 3 times the perks for free

When measuring a somewhat higher end hotel you can only compare them to other similar hotels and rate them accordingly. So here goes…
This was not the worst higher end hotel but it most certainly fell short of the better ones.
The hotel itself is very pretty and clean. The room itself was a decent size. The main thing that I didn’t like about the room is it didn’t have a separate vanity area for getting ready. The restroom isn’t small but it isn’t big either.
Here’s where it fell short. Service. Service was mediocre at best.
My husband and I wanted to put a few items in the refrigerator/​mini bar. They do not give you a key upon check in. We called the front desk and were told they would bring the key. Three or four phone calls and over an hour and a half later, we were given the key.
The following morning, I was at the room by myself. My husband was working. I was getting ready and in walks housekeeping. We had the do not disturb sign up. I called the front desk to explain what happened and was told they messed up the reservation and had us checking out. We had two more nights remaining. Regardless, how about a courtesy knock when there’s a sign up?!
It does have nice scenery and will be even better when the Riverwalk is complete. It’s currently under construction.
I’m not so sure we would stay there again.

I spent a long time at this property so my review is based on a long term stay. What I least liked about this property is that there are not any food, shopping or attractions any where near the property. The places to eat near the hotel are very expensive and in my opinion not that good. Your best bet is to eat on site or have the driver take you to the local shopping area to eat and shop.
The property itself needs updating but it is a nice hotel the rooms are spacious. Downfall no fridge or microwave and that could just be an issue for me because I was their a month.
There is a small bar with a small food selection my favorite was the pastrami it was really good.
I ordered room service from the main restaurant and the service was A1 and the pasta was excellent.
As far as drivers Thomas was the best!
I did have problems with getting hot water some days more than others at times it took 30 minutes. Also the wifi is sketchy.
The property is conveniently located near a Dart stop if you want to take the train into the city or airport. I also love the views there is a water view and a lovely view of downtown Dallas.

I could gush and gush about how amazing our stay was at the Omni at Las Colinas. My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night two weeks ago, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff definitely deserves 5 stars. They are all very accommodating, and genuinely friendly. From the valets to the front desk, we were treated wonderfully by everyone. We booked a suite with champagne, roses, and strawberries. I almost cried when we opened the door! Rose petals everywhere, and they had given us the Presidential Suite on the top floor over looking Dallas/​Irving. Breakfast at Trevi’s was also included in our wedding night package, and that was wonderful as well. My husband said it was some of the best breakfast he’s ever had. The valets even cleaned all of the drink cups and water bottles out of our vehicle for us when we were leaving, and we didn’t even use the service, we self parked! We loved our stay. I think I should also mention that I thought the price per night is very reasonable given the hotel class that this is. We’ll continue to use Omni for special occasions in the Dallas area.

I am attending a seminar at the Omni hotel. The A/​C is very noisy, very much substandard. Almost the sound level inside an airplane.

I checked into my room and started to unpack.
I went into the bathroom.
The bathtub had a bunch of hairs in it.
They were not mine.
Gross.
I called the front desk.
I explained the monstrosity in the bathtub asked them to send someone up in 10 minutes (when I departed) to THOROUGHLY clean the bathroom.
Two minutes later, (contrary to my specific instructions) a maid appeared and proceeded to clean the bathroom while I was still in the room.
The maid had one (1) rag and one (1) bottle of cleaning solution.
Gross.
I sort of expected that the maids would use more stuff to do a thorough clean of the bathroom.
Guess not.
I hope I don’t contract some disease from staying in this unhygienic, apparently never-​cleaned hotel room.
Also, the food here is terrible.

Went there last weekend, and this isn’t quite Omni like it any way.
The staff were helpful, but not great. The décor has been updated??? This must mean from the 60’s to a more 80’s style. Room was big, but that’s it.
We went to the Restaurant (Revi’s) and spent $ 150 on the most average meal I can imagine.
I wish I had done more research into this hotel, I went by the Omni name and got burnt.

I thought the hotel was nice and clean. The room was large. I don’t remember any free water. We were there for one night for an event at the civic center and really didn’t get to spend much time at all in the room. It was quiet and the front desk was very friendly and efficient during checkin and out. I would stay here again depending upon the price and need to be in Irving. Had lunch in the restaurant. Portions were large. The price was a little high for the menu items but if you are really hungry, then the portions will make up for the price. They had a lunch buffet but we didn’t try it. About fifty dollars for lunch for two with no alcohol.
The spa associated with this place is a whole different situation. I won’t go on here, but to say I wouldn’t stay at this hotel just to have access to the spa.

The hotel is beautiful. However, I was very disappointed in the service. We came for a wedding and stayed in a jr suite. I had a «do not disturb» sign on my door while I was showering and had a staff member let themselves in my room. Thankfully i was able to cover up before i cane face to face with them. Ou
When i called the desk, they just said sorry. Thats all.
Our I internet was awful and as a preferred guest, we were suppose to have the highest level. And our cable tv was terrible. Both of those problems were not fixed either after numerous phone calls to the desk. I will not be staying here again. The «walk in» alone was very disturbing and we were offered nothing to help ease the situation.

Horrible customer service and ludicrous «corporate policies.»
I purchased a Dallas Cowboys package that included a stay at this hotel at a charity event. The person that donated the room called the hotel, put his card and rewards number on file, and had them put a note in the reservation that the room was being donated. After I purchased this package, I was told to call and change the reservation into the name of the person who would be staying there. I called and put the reservation in a family member’s name. They stated during that call that there was a note on file that the room had been donated. This was 2 months before the reservation.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving… family member checks in. They charge her the full amount on the debit card. I find out and call to straighten it out. The manager tells me that I have to get a preauthorization filled out and faxed back from the person who reserved the room for them to charge their card. Obviously not knowing the person who donated the package to the charity event, this left me high and dry. I was not going to allow my family member to pay for the room that was supposed to be «free,» so I say to put it on my card and refund the other. They say no problem, just fill out the pre-​auth and fax it back to us or come pay in person.
SOOO…my husband and I load up and drive ACROSS town ON THANKSGIVING to pay for the damn room. We get there and speak to the same manager and ask him why they didn’t tell us about the pre-​auth 2 months ago when we switched the name when we might have had an opportunity to work it out. We asked what his definition of DONATING is since the purchaser did everything he knew to ensure he paid for the room. He gives me the «corporate policy, fraud protection» business. Blah, blah, blah… and then I give him my credit card and he DOESN’T EVEN CHECK MY ID. He wouldn’t take my credit card information over the phone because of the «corporate fraud protection policies» but he doesn’t even check my ID after I drive half an hour over there and hand him the exact same card. WTH!!! Lame.
I get back to where I’m staying, check my credit card online and notice that he charged me an extra $ 100 MORE than I SIGNED FOR. Call him back and he says, well, we charged the wrong rate earlier.
So, the corporate policy won’t let Omni charge someone’s credit card 1) when they reserve the room and note they are donating it 2) over the phone… but it WILL allow them to charge $ 100 more than I physically signed for??? And no one sees the flaw in that? I GUARANTEE you that the hotel would have had NO PROBLEM charging the person who originally reserved the room the full amount of the room if no one had showed up without cancelling. Yes, they would have charged them without a pre-​auth and without presenting the card in person.
Long story short, the managerial staff at this hotel is grossly incompetent and not equipped with any customer-​service skills or knowledge of methods to manage conflict in a positive manner. They are obviously unaware of the saying that loyal customers are made from bad experiences that are made right. Either way, this experience and the obviously flawed «corporate policies» will be the impression forever imprinted in my mind such that I will NEVER stay at an Omni again if given a choice.

I’m here on a business trip and this place is great! The staff is VERY helpful, like nothing I’ve ever seen where I’m from up in Michigan (we’re not necessarily known for our hospitality…).
If I need anything, literally anything there are people here to help me out. Being that I’m «stuck» here (I could Über but I’m not too worried about it) I eat at their Trevi’s Italian Restaurant every day and it’s really delicious and the service is outstanding! Mike, Brenda, and Cameron have really gone out of their way and made me feel like I’m welcome there; even when I go down there in a t-​shirt and jeans instead of my dress clothes (I shed those off right when I leave my meetings…).
The gym is decent; it has some free weights, a few treadmills and ellipticals, and a few machines that do multiple things, which is far better than what I’ve seen at some places. Oh, and the cardio has Cardio Theatre on there so you can change the channel if someone’s watching the Kardashians (thank God!).
The grounds are very nice and the shuttle will take you around for free (it’s a tip based service).
If you’re staying for business I highly recommend it! Great job guys!
Oh, one more thing, the wi-​fi is free if you join their free loyalty club; which I did :-)

This weekend my husband planned a wonderful weekend getaway in the Dallas /​Ft. Worth area and we stayed at the Omni Mandalay hotel in Las Colinas. The room was great and the view from the 22^nd floor was a relaxing start and end to each day. Until this morning our overall experience at the hotel was great. My husband went to play golf this morning and my plan was to sleep in. I heard a tap tap on the door and before I could get out of bed the housekeeper was in the room. Not at the door but in the room. No time between taps to allow me to get to the door nor did she say a word to announce herself. Needless to say I was livid which was only made worse by her acting as if it was nothing.
I instantly called down to the front desk, received a very ‘cold’ apology and was told the housekeeping manager would call me shortly. Needless to say that call never came. An hour and a half later when we went downstairs to check out the rep at the desk acknowledged my call in the system and stated he would call the housekeeping manager again when I advised him she never called. My question was just how much longer was I to wait??? After 3 – 5 minutes I left feeling that the actions of the housekeeper was not only normal behavior but acceptable behavior.
I expected better at an Omni chain… hopefully it’s just this location but either way it is NOT acceptable and the attitude of management is truly a disappointment. Wonderful hotel … housekeeping standard operating procedures questionable! I’ll stay at an Omni again … maybe not this one for awhile, if at all again.

Just had a wonderful 3 day stay here. The pool and gym are wonderful. Room was very nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Pastrami sandwich with fries at the pool fun and delicious. Will be back!

Wow! This place is grand! Located in Las Colinas this Omni is so beautiful! So far our experience has been wonderful! Greeted by very enthusiastic and helpful front desk personnel we were made to feel welcome and comfortable! The lobby once you enter takes your breath away! The ambience is indeed welcoming! When we got to our room we were even more impressed with the layout and the view especially! We could see the water and pool from the 22^nd floor! Grand view!
The place is so peaceful and quiet. I’m enjoying sitting here in the quiet and peaceful lobby writing this. My wife really loves it here and so do my kids! It also helps that we were able to get a super deal on Hotwire! My second time using Hotwire and I’m hooked!
I read that the restaurants on site are good but we ventured out and found a lot of options close by. Unfortunately we had a negative experience at a place called Italian Café which is close to the hotel. But we ended up at a favorite, Chipotle so we were happy!
I’ve had good experiences with Omni Hotels over the years but this property is exceptional! Reading other reviews, there seemed to be a hangup about the age of the place but I must say the overall aesthetic to me was really nice! I recently stayed in a brand new hotel. literally less than 2 weeks after it opened and although beautiful… I found this property much more inviting and warm…
Close to everything, we enjoyed visiting the Mustangs of Las Colinas… a sculpture my wife and I saw last almost 20 years ago! The area looked quite different back then. Created by Robert Glen the Mustangs gave you a feeling of power and strength! Always inspirational!
Anyways, if you’re looking for a really nice place to stay near the Dallas/​Irving area check this place out! Maybe you may get lucky and get a great deal like me on Hotwire! Customer service makes a big difference in hotels for me and the service here so far has been excellent!

Nothing special here. Dated hotel on the verge of looking «beat up». High traffic due to conferences and many corporates located nearby. Definitely time for an upgrade.
I was initially given a room that was occupied, when I returned to the front desk, they were perplexed by the situation. Staff was nice but clueless.
Here on business for one night, would never stay again. Generic, boring, average hotel. Again, nothing special.

This area is fantastic with a little bit of everything within walking distance. The hotel is nice /​staff professional and attentive. Los Colinas even has some «lakes» where you can SUP in the summer!

As close to a Vegas feeling as you will find in Texas. Large hotel set far back that seems to exist in it’s own world.
I am an Omni fan– but this hotel is reason alone to trust the brand. Staff was beyond nice on a VERY busy weekend. The facilities did not seem maxed out even with every room occupied.
Sports Bar/​restaurant was done right with quick service, huge tv’s and good food.
I recommend this place with no hesitation.
