This Just In!!! Just tried my take out order of Stew Chicken; let me just say everything tasted so fresh. The rice was very tasty and cooked to perfection; the stew chicken burst with flavor as did the cabbage and potatoes; my only complaint is that the cabbage was slightly over cooked & lacked the crunchiness that I oh so love. My first experience was great to say the least, from the customer service down to the food. I would definitely patronize this establishment again. «Watch out Golden Krust, their Stew Chicken is definitely better, you can’t compete with their quick service, however Golden Krust wins the cabbage competition.» Overall I absolutely loved the food. It’s not a 5 star restaurant, but it’s great comfort food and small but a clean restaurant. Kudos to Big G Jamaican And American Restaurant. Bön appetite 06/03/2016 Just tried the curry chicken, the freshest tasting curry chicken I’ve ever had that wasn’t cooked in someone’s home. This place is the truth. Reasonably priced food, plus you get more than your money’s worth. I highly recommend it and they take credit cards. Yum Yum, this was more then I could eat in 1 sitting.

First time here so I decided to go with a mini jerk chicken meal. The guy behind the counter(who speaks very low with a heavy accent, having to repeat himself 3x) said I have to see how many chicken we have left. I got a little agitated cause I thought he was going to say they ran out of food, hours before closing time. I was waiting a while, BUTITWASDEFINITELYWORTHIT!!! The mini is plenty of you have a small appetite, but next time I’m definitely going for the next size(mini, small, large). The jerk chicken and pepper sauce(lip burning HOT) were authentic, and if you don’t like sauce, no worries, the chicken was very very juicy. The rice and peas were perfect and so were the plantains and cabbage. Not greasy at all thank God. Had the opportunity to build some rapport with the guy behind the counter before I left and I was pleased. There are tables and chairs if you’d like to sit down… a variety of beverages … I didn’t give five stars because the coco bread wasn’t fresh, and not flavor able. Taste like a plain dinner roll, very disappointed. Will be back though … Today lol

First time there. Modest place. Ordered curry chicken, curry goat and chicken roti. Food is delicious. The price is right. The portions fit to feed a king. I will be going back when in Irvington.

Stopped by Big G’s this evening. I ordered a mini portion of curry goat. It cost $ 6.50 and included a generous ladel of curry goat served with rice, peas and cabbage. The meat was tender and juicy, and the rice, peas and cabbage with perfect too. It was just the right amount of food. I ate everything, where I normally throw away most of the side items. Outstanding! I will be back to try the other menu items soon.

I’m not really into Jamaican food but I tried the Beef Patty with Coco Bread and fell in love. The mild patty had a light kick while the soft, thick Coco bread calmed it all down. The combination plus the coconut soda I had made a full on experience I wouldn’t mind having again. Maybe I’ll find something on the menu that will slowly get me into more Jamaican food.

Irvington boasting some of the best Jamaican food I ever had and guess what its not on flatbush even though technically in irvington this place sits around the corner from eastern parkway .but eastern parkway Irvington. Walked up ordered the«jerk» the Owner said you are what you eat…:)… Listen you want Jerk Chicken you need to come here. From what i understand they use an actual grill and use wood on this grill hence giving it that every so addictive taste. Its not like the chain restaurants«Golden Krust» were the jerk sauce is just thrown on at the end. Then its just dripping off of the chicken. Its suppose to be a dry rub. «dry» I asked the owner how come he never has a booth in the Caribbean day parade in Brooklyn? Responds in a thick Jamaican accent: mon mi got nah fan dat, mi too old mon! I always get the jerk chicken a la carte, but there is options with rice & beans and cabbage for $ 8.00 for small now don’t think the small is «small» its and absurd amount of food. Your getting your bang for your buck here!!!. There is a Lunch special from 11−3pm were most dishes are a couple of dollars less than usual. GETTHEJERKCHICKEN .dry rub and sooooo good
